If someone with an undergraduate degree from Harvard Extension school ran for senate, would they win?
What a very odd question.Your questions seems to ask if BECAUSE of their HES degree, would they win? No.I’m not sure of any public official that won an office because of their degree.I would advise that you revise your question to more accurately reflect what you are trying to glean from answers. If you mean is HES credible, yes.A senate race is so much more complex than just where you went to school… this is a very simplistic view of what it takes to be a senator. lol.R.

Would a degree from Harvard Extension School help me get a job at a hedge fund?
I’ve worked for hedge funds in the past and have good basis for answering this question. If you don’t have a brokerage account, you will find it very difficult to get anyone to take you seriously, no matter where you’re from. Why? There is nothing - and I mean NOTHING - like having real money - particularly your OWN money - on the line to focus your investment decisions. You don’t have to run a scaled down hedge fund, of course - those strategies are typically not suitable for individual investors anyway, but having investment experience is extremely important.Harvard Extension provides a solid education - I would not have any problem hiring a Harvard Extension grad. There’s one I know personally who would be a highly coveted quant at most any fund, and who I’d hire in the heartbeat. And I’m really sure she’s not the only one like that.
Would a degree from Harvard Extension School help or hurt a student in graduate school admissions?
I don’t think it is going to hurt you in anyway. Generally, extension school is best for the people with full time jobs. If you are motivated you can always build upon the degree from the extension school. I have seen people taking up post doc\graduate programs after finishing the extension school. If you are thinking that the extension school degree will give you exclusive leverage (Harvard Pedigree) in applying to other programs then that might not happen. I myself are going to finish my graduate degree this summer and start the part time MBA from UCLA in fall 2017.I remember that during my MBA interviews, people(Ad com\interviewer) asked me about how I am managing the work load but no one questioned the extension aspect of the program. It won’t gave me any substantial edge in terms of things like “I am a HARVARD graduate - just accept my application” but it does reflected on my part that I am serious about my studies\growth and I can effectively manage the graduate level work load.I have also seen people graduating from extension school and then getting into other Harvard Grad Schools. Will a Harvard Extension program degree help me more than a normal college?
A2A - No. It’s a degree like a regular college degree. You will have the option to take a few courses in the regular Harvard College, which you may like, and you’ll get to list Harvard University on your resume. Though you’ll have to be honest with employers that it was the Extension School and not Harvard College when they ask.You don’t have to compete to get into the Extension School’s degree program. If you complete three courses there with a B or better in each, you’re in.The school isn’t intended for kids just out of high school. The students there are adults. It’s night school, for the most part, so you’ll lose out on the fun of campus life and socializing with your age group.I really recommend going to a regular college and partaking of all that college has to offer, not forgoing that just to have a prestige name on your resume.
