What action can I take if someone hits my car on the road? What would you do?
Here is the list of Actions one needs to do if accident happens (Major or Minor)- Check if all passengers are OK. If No, then call ambulance and call police immediately- Basic Rule: Never indulge into fight and never accepts that its your fault. Never leaves or runs from the scene of accident.- Take pictures of the car accident without moving them. - If the accident is minor and the other person accuses you for the accident and demands money, try to settle it down if you feel you can able to pay that money. If you feel its not your fault, call the police or go the the nearby police station after taking pictures of car and file an FIR immediately. Don't be afraid of filing FIR. (This is mandatory if the accident is major)- Intimate your Insurance agency immediately about the accident by calling them on toll free number. If you have third party or Zero Depreciation insurance then they will take care of the damages- Once FIR is filed, police will investigate the case. In case of minor accidents, police will try to settle the case in police station only.- Once investigation report is prepared, case will go to the court, where the summon will be generated.- The summon will be required by the insurance agency to do third party insurance.- Rest insurance agency will take care for the demanded vs actual damage cost and they will settle the case.Remember, accidents are meant to happen. Don't afraid if you get into one. If somebody threatens you to get the recovery on his own way. File a complaint immediately against him.
Can someone I bumped with my car at a stop sign still come back to haunt me?
I accidentally bumped my car at a stop with the suv. In front of me. I thought the car in front went so as I checked for traffic coming from the right cause it was like a fork stop the suv was still there. We all got out of car the people didn't speak much English I believe they were Asian, 1 man took a picture of my licence place, but no cops were needed as there was no damage to either car and I shook everyone's hands and drove away. I am still very nervous if they can do anything to me. I also got a picture of their licence plate. I am not sure what to do. Thanks for helping....
I did a hit and run!!!! im scared. will they find me?
I don't think they will go trough all the trouble just to find you for a small dent. Unless someone took your license plate number. But, for the record, and for your own good, whenever you experience something like that, just be a good person and leave a note on the windshield with your phone number and an apologia. Most people will really appreciate it and won't call the police, they will just ask for a cash compensation. I had the very same experience, the only difference was, the driver was just leaving his vehicle in a rush and I was blind and stupid. I made a small dent on his license plate, my rear bumper was already smashed up by the previous owner, so I apologized to the guy, gave him 20$ and that was it.
Could my car be seriously haunted?
could have died in that car? the front and rear windshields have been broken. shattered. i found the glass by the inside of the body. front windshields been improperly resealed. leaked for a while there, according to the inside of the top of the car. rusted a little. there are dents by the front passenger side right up from the windshield, on the very top of the car. i discovered this while sanding. then i discovered some on the back on the opposite side. they look like someone pressed 4 or 5 fingers hard into the top of the car (or rocks suddenly and harshly hit it or were pressed into it) like.... as if it had rolled before
A street dog was killed by me in a car accident on a highway. I feel very bad about it. What should I do?
Hi, I was in a similar situation about a week ago. th only difference is I wasn't speeding (but it didn't make a difference in my situation so don't be too hard on yourself). A car ahead of me had run over it and kept going but I noticed it was still alive in the few seconds before I hit it but by the time I saw it there was no way I could avoid it without putting other people's lives in danger. There were two guys chasing after the dog trying to get it and when I pulled over they saw how upset I was and told me it wasn't their dog and they saw I couldn't avoid it. I called the police and he also told me there was nothing I could've done. I was grateful that the two guys were there because I couldn't go and look at the dog. This haunts me, even though everyone I've talked to or saw it tells me it's not my fault I still feel responsible. In addition to feeling guilty I'm also angry that someone would let their dog run around without a leash on near major highway and I'm also angry that the car ahead of me who hit it first didn't stop. I'm sure you've had a myriad of feelings but it seems that's normal. And even though I'm angry at someone without their dog run without a leash I still feel bad for the family or person whose dog this was. The police officer said he would take care of all of that and I'm grateful for that. Obviously you feel bad about this and it was not on purpose so just know there are other people out there who have done the same thing and feel awful about it. If you didn't feel bad about it then there will be something wrong with you. I hope you can recover from this and doesn't hunt you for too long. I guess I'm saying the same for myself. If you ever want to talk about it feel free to message me back. I understand the feelings that come with this happening. Good luck to you and drive safely, I wish you peace of mind!Beth
Is there anything you have ever done that still haunts you and makes you feel guilty?
When I was in college, I had a boyfriend who was a very good man. I was immature and selfish. I was broken in so many ways that I hadn't addressed yet.I cheated on him, a lot. Usually summers when we were apart. After three years I broke up with him and told him he deserved someone better than me. I didn't give him any explicit reasons.About six months after we broke up, I asked to meet with him to tell him about having cheated on him. I only used the last incident. I confessed and told him I was sorry and it was the reason I broke up with him - because I felt so guilty and he deserved better. He told me he had been planning to ask me to marry him before I broke up with him.About two months after that, he dropped out of school and his mom picked him up in an emergency. I don't know exactly what happened, I think a nervous breakdown.I grew up a bit. Got married to a man who sexually abused me. When I got out of that marriage I realized there was a spiritual connection between me abusing him and my being abused. Karma, as some people say.He got married, has a baby, is having a happy life (as far as I can tell). We don't talk or anything. When I think of him, I pray for him and his family. I wish I hadn't abused him. He didn't deserve that. I feel so terrible about the secret black turmoil I created in our relationship and his world. How I just brought chaos into his reality through my lies and betrayal.Though I have had other boyfriends and am married again, I never cheated after him.I regret it every day. He's a good man and has a good wife. I'm glad he got someone he deserves.
What happens if you dont pay the insurance company?
First off....they will start by having your drivers license revoked. So...now you get to walk to work. The only way to get your drivers license back...is to pay the insurance companies. Then you have to pay some pretty hefty fees to the state. The insurance company can decide to sue you. Your young now....but they can get a judgment against you and wait. You won't always be young. Then in 6 years when you try to buy a house....that judgment comes back to haunt you. They can also turn you over to a collections company. Insurance companies have entire departments to get money out of people like you. They don't just go away because you ignore them. Your best bet is to call them and work out a payment plan. If you can scrape together a lump sum...you could make a lump sum offer. For example: you owe them 5000. Offer to pay them 3000 lump sum. Some companies would rather get a lump sum now than try to chase you for money for years to come. You can also offer your own payment arrangements. Explain: I'm 19 and I only make about 400 a month. I can't give you a down payment, but I'll pay 100 per month until the debt is paid in full. Most companies will not take less than 100 per month. The good news is...these payment arrangements are interest free. And as long as you make your payments on time - every month...they don't take further action against you.
