Can Someone Tell Me About Lebanese And Syrian People In France

How the Hell are Lebanese/Syrian/Palestinian people Arab?

not many actually agree what we are....this is between families of course...the whole arab/non arab thing..

honestly to me...I'm just "Lebanese"

i have always considered the term Arab to be racist. it take away from each countries unique culture. also even tho there are some similarities..there are also many differences.

if you ask a saudi whats their race..they proudly say saudi, if you ask a palistinian what they are..they say palistinian...same for every other country.

were doing the census this year here in the states..and we put our race as Lebanese...sure we had to check other...there was no Arab race eaither. im sure all middle easterners here in the states prudly put lebanese, jordanian, palistinian....ect.

like the term "hispanic" is not fair eaither...because mexicans, columbians, argentenians are hispanic..but so are spanish...but they are on a whole other continent. they share the same language (different dialects)...but when someone asks them what they are ...they dont say they are hispanic...they say they are "spanish, or mexican, or chilian ect..."

but yeah..to answer your question Lebanese and Saudi Arabians are "not" the same ethnicity. but both speak arabic as the primary language (of course different dialects). and both have very unique cultures to be proud of!

@EVE..now your confusing race with relgion.
it is a muslim/christian/druze (and a very small jewish) country!

Why do lebanese people worship the french?

The crusades predated the Ottoman rule there by a long time. When the crusaders arrived there they started murdering Christians and any one who looked Arab including Jews and Gypsies. The crusaders actually took a lot of Gypsies as captives before that on Byzantine borders thinking those were Muslims. Later they took the Gypsies and Jews back with them to eastern Europe to show the other crusade waves how to make weapons to defeat Muslims. The Eastern Church Christians were also considered enemies by some crusaders because they were not Catholics and coexisted with Muslims. Everyone knows what later happened in Europe with the inquisition and before that the medieval period in France. For some one here to claim the crusaders were there to "protect" Christians in Lebanon is the biggest historical forgery because Christians in those days had more rights under Islamic rule than any one in medieval Europe when people were being chopped under the guillotine. It is a joke when you mention the Russians who turned communists and against religious institutions. Russia had no influence in middle ages Lebanon what so ever.

Do people consider lebanon and syria like the same country?

I suggest you read some history books if you are really interested in this subject, but I will give you a brief feed back, there was no country called Lebanon until some 80 years ago when the French divided Syria before they left and created what is known today as Lebanon, the Syrians in Lebanon who they call themselves Lebanese not only deny their Syrian origin but they take it a step further by claiming not to be even Arabs like they are, people on both sides of the fake border are related through common ancesters and marriage and share the same culture, language, cuisine, and interests with the "Lebanese" lacking a national identity and a very fractured social fabric due to their tribal loyalty and a strong sense of religion based division.

Please only French people answer this question ? (France Category)?

do you think that France will colonize in the future some country in the middle ease like Lebanon,Syria,Turkey, Iran or Jordan etc.... my personal opinion is that the pople of those countries say : please France come here, colonize us ,spread your culture and language , make us more civilized and teach us how to be humans . so what do you think ?

Do Lebanon and Moroccan people speak Arabic or French Language?

Many educated Lebanese and Moroccans speak French
but the Arabic dialects (which may be mutally incomprehensible) would be their native tongues.

Many Arabs and Muslims who are not Arab study Classical Arabic

Many Algerians also speak French and Moroccans and Lebanese, as well as Algerians, often have relatives living in France or Francophone(French-speaking) places like Quebec

Morocco and Algeria were once considered by many French to be full departments("states") de la Republique Francaise

Many Arabic-speaking people in the former "French protectorates" who did not speak French picked up many French phrases and words.

Even before full colonization many Western educated Near Easterners spoke French as the language of diplomacy(before English came in as such) and Western European high culture

In Lebanon many schools were sponsored by French Catholic religious orders and encouraged the use of French.

When Lebanon was established as a state it had a Christian majority (Maronite Catholic, Greek /Rum Orthodox, Greek/Rum Catholic,Latin Catholic, Armenian Apostolic Orthodox, Syrian Orthodox and a wide variety of Protestant denominations) but now there are more Muslims (about 60-65%)

In the Near and Middle East English seems to be more sought after in education because of its current international value as a common wide-spread economic, business, air communication and pop culture language.
