Can Someone Tell Me How To Reduce Lag

Will buying a new video card reduce lag?

Hello, re writing my question cuz it didn't make sense on the first post. Anyways I have a few questions I would like to ask.

1.) I am currently playing Age of Conan. And I have been getting such lag, that my frame rate is 2-12 fps! The graphics on it compared to my friends is really crappy... I can't even see the water clearly and the environment. It looks like EQ 1! Can anybody tell me what's wrong? Do I need a new video card?? Cuz I can play most games w/o any graphic or lag problems but this... Such as WoW, EQ, GW, RAN, AoE, and plenty of other MMO, they all to work smoothly but AoC...

2.) And if I do get a new video card, can you tell me the benifits?? Like will it reduce lag?? And how does it work, like will my frame rate go up??

Thanks to those who can help! :)

And here are is some info for my comp.

*Video Card is: ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Series
*RAM is: 2G
*Disk Space is: 168.3GB
*CPU Speed is: 3.20 GHz
*and I use Compaq Presario Intel Celeron with Windows XP

How to reduce ping/lag on PS4?

Ping is the time that it takes a packet of data to travel from your PS4 to the server and back.

If you are getting spikes, there are several things to look at. Did you install any equipment on your network lately? Did you change the configuration of the router recently? What condition are the lines? DSL in particular is really sensitive to that. Since you are connected WiFi, install one of those analyzer apps on your phone and see what is going on around you I was thinking apps like https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai... for andriod and https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wifi-ana... for iPhone. Move your network to an unused by your neighbors channel. I also narrowed the bandwidth of the channel on the router to get a stronger signal. Maybe something in your area occasionally hammers the WiFi for what ever they are doing causing your router to lag.

Another test to perform is put the PS4 directly on the modem with Ethernet (temporarily, this is a diagnoses, not permanent) and reboot. If the spikes still happen, then it is either your modem or something in your neighborhood. Replace any lines between your modem and the jack. If DSL, then take apart, clean, and reassemble all phone jacks. (once had paint in mine, replacing those with new ones did serious good)

If after all that, it still spikes, NOW you call your ISP. They know about how long a ping to your modem should take. They may also have records of those spikes as this is the kind of data they have for diagnostics. Their professionals might be able to figure this out.

Can someone please tell me what is 'ping'?

ping time = lag.

More specifically, it's a measure of latency between your computer and a remote device.
188ms is not good for gaming, and you will notice lag spikes.
Try testing to a server that's closer to you geographically.

A higher number indicates a higher amount of time that it takes to communicate with target device. With services that depend on real time data transfer (games, voice calls, etc), lower numbers are always better.

1000ms = 1 second.

How to reduce lag on Fallout New Vegas for mac?

Use a PC. Mac for looks, PC for power.

How do you reduce the lag playing Fortnite on a MacBook Air? Even on low settings it has a lot of lag.

Lag in games on a Macbook Air can be solved by one thing and one thing only, don’t game on such a slow machine. I am sorry if this is harsh. The Macbook Air is not made to game on, at all. It has the weakest and one of the oldest Intel GPU available, it has 64 MB screen buffer (on the higher end machines), compare that with 8192 MB a normal video GPU has access to today. This 64 MB buffer is hardly enough to keep track of what is happening on your screen, doing nothing. The Macbook Air is a cheap(ish) machine made for students that need a stable machine with a very long battery life, nice keyboard and trackpad. All around learning machine, word processor and some spreadsheet work, even a little programming. By all accounts, a new Air machine would have been very fast machine just 5–10 years ago, but that is the CPU, it is fast and it compiles and does heavy number crunching and does not get too hot doing it, so you can keep the machine on your lap. I own the Macbook (adorable), and I do a lot of coding, number crunching and a lot of things on it, but play games, nope, don’t even try it.These machines are quite good on its own, but the Air is getting very old, very fast.It just isn’t made to play games more difficult than simple Tetris, solitaire and candy crush, small puzzle like games.

How can i reduce lag when playing flyff?

Trying reducing the resolution. It doesn't look as good but usually helps a lot.

How can I reduce lag in Camtasia 8 while recording PC games? (Windows XP)?

Camtasia 8 is a desktop screen recording program; it's not suitable for game recording.

To record a game in high quality, you have to use DirectX/OpenGL hooking program like Bandicam or Fraps.
I prefer to use Bandicam because it's free up to 10 minutes, high quality, and much less lag than Fraps.
Also, you can upload the recorded file to YouTube without converting because the recorded file is much smaller than Fraps.
for examples)
- Fraps: 1,000MB
- Bandicam: 90MB

What are some methods I can use to reduce lag when editing in Adobe Premiere?

Well the main thing to do is work with an efficient codec while editing. So first of all, if your footage is coming from a DSLR, Mirrorless, Cellphone or such, then the footage is currently compressed with a codec called H.264. Its a great deliverable codec, but sucks for editing. To explain the reason it sucks sinply, the information for what the first frame looks like actually exists, but for the next frame the information stored only says the DIFFERENCE or CHANGE from the first frame. Then the third frame is given a full set of information, and the next is once again only the change to the prior frame.its awesome because it reduces file size tremendously. But it sucks while editing because your pc has to constantly work out what your frames look like if it's not the “actual” one. and this means if you make a cut on any of those “difference” only frames, your pc has to reference back to a clip and decide whether to use the previous or the next frame as the reference. It just bogs the CPU down with unnecessary computing.the solution is to use a format like Prores or DnxHD (or DnxHR for 4K)these formats store actual info for every single frame. The workflow is as follows:take all your raw footage into DaVinci Resolve, make a new sequence with all the footage lined up one by one.go to the deliverable tab, choose single clips and tell it to use the clips source name (very important for the clips to keep the original name)export as prores 422 or dnxhd 120 (for windows) into a folder called “"transcodes” And bring that into premier to start editing.youll see see a massive performance increase. If you dont have perfect playback, then the media drive is too slow and you'll need to find a way to get past the bottleneck. The other important step you can take is making proxies, dnxhd and prores both have “proxy” codecs that have tiny file sizes and can make editing fast. Just remember to relink to your original media in the grade so that you don't grade proxy footage. And finally, your pc isn't aweful, but it is not specifically good either, and after doing these optimization, if you don't get the speed your hoping for, it's time for an upgrade. i7 with hyperthreading at least.hope this helps!

What are the ways in which I can reduce lag during multiplayer gaming?

Let me tell you... there is a whole lot of dilemma players have fought into thinking what are the BEST ways. However there is no best way unfortunately. There are series of steps that you can follow which every website suggests. There is one more thing you should know, since it is trending. Get yourself a VPN. It is VERY affordable and somehting that will keep you away from bad routing while playing online games. I can suggest you few:http://www.KillPing.comhttp://www.Battleping.comI personally use Kill Ping since it has more servers to connect through and helps you get through any bad routing. You will witness significant improvement because it will take shortest route to connect to your destination game server.

Why does Fortnite lag everytime I’m fighting someone?

Depends on the platform that you play on. On pc, it is most likely due to your pc either not being strong enough to process fights (which are very resource consuming as bullets and particles are everywhere). On console, it is most likely due to a bad internet connection.
