My elder brother didn’t necessarily catch me reading yaoi, but he did find my fan page on instagram! Luckily him and I have always been close, so he didn’t tell our parents, but boy did I have the biggest fucking heart attack of all time. I had yaoi of all types… hardcore… softcore… bara… it was a nightmare.Though, over time, he just came to accept it. I had to explain that it was merely something I enjoyed reading, and that it was just like reading “normal” heterosexual shojo manga. After making my point I was terrified of the coming homophobic comments, but unexpectedly my brother was very understanding. I couldn’t look him in the eye for a couple of days, but now he even accompanies me to go buy it in person!
