Can Someone Tell Me Who Is Doctor Who

How can a doctor tell if someone smokes? What are the tests that help diagnose if a person smokes?

In general, smoking causes inflammation and the activation of enzymes in your lungs (such as elastases), which will break down the extracellular matrix in your lungs. This makes one's lungs more elastic, and thus helps retain air inside when exhaling. When measuring spirometry (ie when you blow in and out of this tube) at the doctor's office, doctors measure the volume going in and out of the lungs, and how much time it takes. Forced Expiratory Volume and Forced Vital Capacity-Topic OverviewSmokers have a lower forced expiratory volumes, meaning more air is retained within their lungs. This is a form of respiratory obstruction. Comparison of forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) among asymptomatic smokers and non-smokers.In comparison to non-smokers as the article above states, smokers would have more obstruction. This could be detected in tests over time and tracked, and would be a sign to doctors that something is wrong with the lungs, and thus more questions would be asked, if like the question states, it wasn't obvious that the person was a smoker from smell, breath, or teeth.More info on how smoking affects this measure over time can be found here. It's a subtle defect, but always indicative of some obstruction related to smoking. The Natural History of Forced Expiratory Volumes: Effect of Cigarette Smoking and Respiratory Symptoms: Page on atsjournals.org

Why can't I tell my doctor what is wrong with me?

You are over-simplifying.The human body is the most complex device anyone works with. It contains dozens of systems. Every system within it has feedback loops. Every system has interactions with every other system, also involving feedback loops. There are feedback loops between body and mind. There’s no unifomity - there are 7 billion model variants on this planet today. All those variants have been shaped by circumstances growing up, and circumstances yesterday. Symptoms may be meaningful or not, may be caused by trivia, or not.So there is no way in hell your body can tell anyone what’s wrong - largely because there is not one thing that is wrong, there’s dozens of things wrong, some of which can be repaired by the body, some of which can’t, some matter (but most don’t).

How do I tell my doctor that I'm a meth addict?

Where are you based? And is there a specific reason why you want to bring up meth at all? I’d say to only do so if it is directly related to a medical condition you are seeking help for and/or you need him to refer you to some sort of outpatient psychiatrist for help with your addiction.Unfortunately there is still massive stigma around addiction. You don’t want to have to deal with your doctor giving you a lesser standard of medical care. My doctor stopped prescribing me Ambien when I told him (which was so annoying).Practically speaking, think about whether you want your meth addiction to be in your medical record formally and whether this is something you’re okay with. Does it affect your insurance etc?Take care x

Can a doctor tell if you had an abortion in the past if you don't tell it to him?

Can a doctor tell if you had an abortion in the past if you don't tell them about it?Not necessarily. If you had an abortion late in pregnancy to the point your cervix changed, your uterus became a little larger, or you have stretch marks and you claim you’ve never had a child, then the physician will probably pick this up.It also depends on the physician who is asking—if it’s an ob/gyn, it’s more likely s/he will pick up the body changes described above. If it’s a doctor who doesn’t have you disrobe or do a pelvic exam on you, they probably won’t ever be able to tell if you don’t disclose this information (either by talking with them about it or releasing medical records to them that contained this information—assuming they read it). There is absolutely nothing to be ashamed about having an abortion, in the context of disclosing to your physician. This is merely information which will help you get the best medical care as possible. I echo another answer which stated: if you think this physician is treating you poorly (including showing distaste for you) because of an abortion, get a better trained one. We’re out there.

In Which Episode of Doctor Who?

Yes, it is in Army Of Ghosts, actually.

Rose (voiceover) : "He showed me the whole of time and space. I thought it would never end."

The Doctor and Rose are now standing a short way away from the TARDIS on a rocky alien planet, looking out at the sunset.

The Doctor: "How long are you gonna stay with me?"

Rose looks at him.

Rose: "Forever."

And they smile. Cut to a desolate beach.

Rose (voiceover) : "That's what I thought. But then came the army of ghosts. Then came Torchwood and the War. And that's when it all ended."

Rose is standing on the beach, looking out to sea. A gentle breeze is blowing her hair.

Rose (voiceover) : "This is the story of how I died."

...

Hope that helps! I too kept forgetting where that one was, lol!

If I tell a doctor that I self-harm, can he/she tell my parents? (I'm 14)?

Where I work, the department of pediatric, the patients (actually “adolescent clinic”) are seen without parents in the examine room. The nurse reminds the patients that anything that is said in there stays in there - that is one way to get to the bottom of a lot of things (is to be completely honest with the doctors without being afraid). This prevents a lot of unwanted pregnancies and STD.And of course, if the patients self-harm, they will get help.Tell your mother / father when you go to the visit that you want to be alone with the doctor. And what you do is tell the doctor that you want this kept from your parents. They will honor your request.By law, they have to tell someone if you say that you’re going to kill yourself, or hurt someone. But self harm (as undesireable as it is), isn’t the same thing as hanging yourself today (if you know what I mean.)Am a nurse.Best wishes.
