He practiced the art of being in Ocean Spray commercials and now has become a household name and has his photographs in major international photography halls of fame! Mr. Lakhiani is his disciple. Does Ocean Spray Light cranberry juice have the same amount of Vitamin C in it?
Actually, cranberry juice of any kind is NOT good for treating UTI's - but they might be of some therapeutic benefit in terms of prevention. But it isn't due to the amount of vitamin C, it is because of something called mannose. So, if you have the feeling you 'might' come down with one, start drinking lots of it - the real stuff, not Ocean Spray (because Ocean Spray if you read the fine print is only 27% juice and the rest of it is water). Once you are sure you have one, your only option is antibiotics - because a UTI can kill you within a couple days if left untreated - seriously. Why don't you just get a juicer and juice your own whole, fresh cranberries from the grocery store. You need half the amount of juice from ocean spray to get the same health benefits and antioxidants with HALF the calories. When you juice pure cranberries the liquid does not come out thin and bright red/clear ( meaning see through red) as ocean spray. It comes out pure dark rose color and thicker. Better for you too! I suggest not buying anything from the shelves but rather taking the fresh fruit and Maine your own juice.

Clinical evidence supports the claim that regular drinking of cranberry juice can prevent UTIs. This effect has been shown to be due to tannins in cranberries known as proanthocyanidins that inhibit the adherence of E. coli fimbriae to uroepithelial cells (4) (5). In vitro studies have shown that cranberry juice also inhibits the adhesion of H. pylori to human gastric mucosa (7) . A trial done in China suggests that regular consumption of cranberry juice can suppress H. pylori infection, a major cause of peptic ulcer disease and gastric cancer (6). Cranberry juice is also used to prevent gum disease. Studies suggest that cranberry constituents can prevent plaque formation and the development of gum disease by demonstrating anti-colonizing and anti-adhesion properties in plaque-causing bacteria (8) (9). Extracts of cranberries have been shown to have anti-proliferative effects against several cancer cell lines in vitro including prostate (10) (11), liver (12), breast (13), colon (11) (14), and oral (11). Patients on warfarin should use cranberry juice with caution (15).

Ocean Spray makes the same stuff and I usually find it on the shelves this week. It comes in a white plastic tub. Also, in Pennsylvania, most of the grocery stores will have it at the deli counter where you can buy it in bulk, like cole slaw. You can make it too, but do it about 2 days before Thanksgiving so the flavors "develop". Easy to do but a little messy unless you have a food processor (which I don't). Instructions to make the cranberry-orange relish is on the bag of the whole cranberries that Ocean Spray also sells in the fruit/vegetable section of the grocery store. Have you ever had this relish with chopped up walnuts in it? It tastes great mixed in with the cranberries and oranges.
