Can Taking Fiber Pills Cause Headaches

Are diet pills dangerous for teenagers?

Diet pills work by speeding up a person's metabolism. As a young adult, your metabolism is already very high. Diet pills are also made for people with fat to burn, because without fat, your body will burn whatever else is available as a fuel once your metabolism has been chemically increased. An example of what your body will try to digest is, your muscles (including heart muscles, which can cause VERY bad results, like palpitations and fluttering, leading up to hypoglycemia and a heart attack) If you drink caffeinated drinks while on the diet pills, your chance for a heart attack goes up even higher. Even though you are only 17, you can still have a heart attack. The increased metabolism can also cause your body to make up for it's malnutrition by you dehydrating and you will lose some of the fluid "cushion" surrounding your brain. Basically, you could be giving yourself a concussion whenever you sneeze or cough. Severe headaches are one of the first symptoms of this becoming a problem. Don't be afraid to eat, just don't over-do it. Watch your calorie intake by eating less processed foods, and more fresh fruits and veggies. You are better off to cut out carbohydrates, but still allowing a decent amount of calories. Your body needs calories!

There is no conclusive answer, but science is getting closer.Sugar spikes trigger headaches. What goes up, must come down. Natural food prevents this with fiber and nutrients. Processed sweets or carbohydrates often leave us with low blood sugar and our brains don't like that. Oily food... You are probably talking about vegetable oils that contain trans fats and large amounts of omega-6. Trans fats decrease brain function and increase inflammation. Trans Fats:  Bad For Your Brain  (soon to be outlawed is the U.S. 2018).Both sugar and unhealthy diets increase oxidative stress (Study) and this decreases your the metabolism of your mitochondria, meaning your brain is not metabolizing energy, meaning you will feel slow, tired, and angry. This makes sense as research is showing the brain actually shrinks from a poor diet (Can a Poor Diet Lead to Brain Shrinkage?).A leading theory is that headaches and migraines are a defense mechanism against this increase in damage from oxidative stress and inflammation. A poor diet increases your probability of dying and headaches say, "stop doing what you're doing, you're hurting the body."

“Not drinking enough water while taking in too much fiber can leader to faster dehydration. The fiber will soak up the available water, leaving your body dehydrated”.Dehydration might contribute to to headaches in certain individuals“A dehydration headache may occur after sweating when the body loses essential fluids to function properly. ... When the body is dehydrated, the brain can temporarily contract or shrink from fluid loss. This mechanism causes the brain to pull away from the skull, causing pain and resulting in a dehydration headache.”

I am writing this based on 30 years of my own experience of reducing migraine headaches sans medicines. So, this is a proven method, which can be used by all migraine-affected people, with zero side effects. It reduces the frequency of migraine attacks substantially, for sure. Here is my simple but very very effective remedy to prevent/reduce migraine headaches:always cover your eyes with a good-quality pair of sunglasses & also cover your head with a comfortable cap/hat, whenever you go out in the sun/in any kind of glare. Wear the sun-glasses & the cap/hat all the time when you are outdoors, or when you feel that the glare is too much to bear;Eat something at your daily-intake times, without exceptions. What you eat & how much you eat is secondary. What is vital is to feed your stomach at regular intervals, or at/around the time you normally consume food everyday. This eradicates the ill-effects of bile & prevents headaches;Do not keep awake late at night. Ideally, a 11 pm to 6 am sleep is desirable. Also, try to stick to your daily routine, to the extent feasible & avoid erratic daily routines as far as you can;Keep stress as low/less as feasible. Try your best & then, accept the results coolly. Worrying over what is beyond your control is a invitation to migraine headaches;Have more fruits, salads, nuts & other natural foods. Avoid processed/non-veg./fried foods, or consume as less of it as may be possible; For peace of mind, do meditation (focus on breathing) daily, morning & night. Vipassana meditation is very good;Keep this attitude as regards the results, after putting in your best efforts: 0% expectations & 100% acceptance. This will reduce stress & thus, reduce the frequency & intensity of headaches. Do your best & then, accept the outcome with grace & equanimity. This attitude will reduce headaches.

Can weight gain cause migraines?

Hi,
I think I know what you're talking about. I've had trouble with migraines and headaches since I was 10 years old. A few years ago I gained a lot of weight very suddenly and I started getting headaches/migraines on a daily basis. Usually when I first woke up I would already have throbbing pain.
I think the cause of this is not necessarily the extra weight, but the side effects of gaining it. With excess weight comes things like high blood pressure which can definitely lead to migraines ! Also, if your diet is poor you may be eating foods that are high in sodium even if you don't realize it. A lack of fiber can cause constipation.

Also, a major cause of headaches and migraines is dehydration. Remember that when you feel hungry it's often because you're actually thirsty. Make sure you are very well hydrated; try for 8 cups of water or tea a day. As simple as it seems, it's so easy to overlook this.

It is certainly not too late! After years of suffering with migraines I hardly ever get them anymore, so take care of yourself and you'll see how much better you feel.

Fiber recommendations vary from 20g a day to 60g a day. I think 20g is on the lower side and 60g is good for people that consume a lot of food. Personally, I consume just shy of 60g a day, however, I am a bodybuilder so my body goes through a different diet/training/supplementation regiment than most people.Fiber is important for many reasons. I will give you a quick breakdown. It is important for digestion and staying "regular". It helps your colon stay healthy and reduces the risk of colon cancer. As well, it adds "bulk" to your stool which helps move things along. Fiber also helps lower cholesterol (LDL that is) which is a great added benefit for people suffering from high cholesterol or prone to it genetically. Fiber also helps with hunger. When people add fiber to their diets, they feel more satiated throughout the day and less likely to binge. These are some of the main benefits.

Vitamin C supplements are safe to use at recommended doses. They don’t normally give any side effects. The main reason for that is, vitamin c is water soluble. So, if you take excess amounts, it will pass through the urine.

When a headache strikes, you may run through your usual routine: Turn out the lights, lie down and pop a pain pill. But did you know that certain foods may ease, and even prevent, headaches? Add these soothing foods to your shopping list and find out for yourself.Low-Fat MilkOne of the biggest triggers of headaches is dehydration, so skipping alcohol and foods high in sodium are key to staying hydrated and preventing headaches. And not only is milk a hydrating liquid, but it's also full of important minerals like calcium and potassium that offset the effects of high sodium diets. Plus, research has found that low intake of dairy is associated with more frequent migraines per week. On top of that, getting your recommended three daily servings of dairy can improve your blood pressure and reduce your risk for diabetes and obesity.Fatty FishFoods rich in B vitamins like B6, B12, and folic acid may help reduce the amount of headaches, which is why salmon and tuna are great diet additions for beating pain.SaladIf you wake up with a pounding headache from partying too hard from the night before, your pain may be in part from dehydration. One great meal to make to help rehydrate yourself is salad. Lettuce and spinach leaves are high in water and fiber, which will make your body feel great.CoffeeIn moderation, coffee can be a great fix for a pounding headache. Caffeine is a vasoconstrictor, which means it can reduce the size of blood vessels. In excess, this can cause a headache. However, one cup of coffee could help tame a difficult migraine. If your headache is caused by seasonal allergies, coffee will have an even greater effect.BananasBananas are a great food to eat when trying to relieve a stubborn headache. They are high in magnesium, which can relax your blood vessels and ease head pain. They are also high in potassium, which is an essential part of your electrolyte balance. A night of heavy drinking can leave you with a painful hangover and you may need to replace your lost electrolytes due to dehydration.Spicy FoodsIf seasonal allergies or the flu have your head pounding, try snacking on spicy foods. Consuming spicy foods can relieve congestion, which will reduce sinus pressure and open up your airways. Chili powder is also packed with vitamin E. This nutrient can relax your blood vessels, helping give relief to a sore head. Vitamin E supplements pills can cause headaches, so consult with your doctor before taking high doses of this vitamin.

How to relieve severe constipation from pain pills?

Irregularity in bowel movements is case specific – ranging from thrice a day to once in three days. Both can be considered normal depending upon the general health of the person and nature of the bowels. It’s a myth that if you don’t go to the lavatory even once a day, you are constipated, although regular bowel movements are still considered essential to health.
Go for soluble as well as insoluble fiber and lots of fluids, especially water. Fiber and some forms of starch are fermented in the large bowel and provide the bulk that helps to stimulate the muscles of the colon in order to facilitate the digested food through the gut.

Oat bran, pulses and most fruits (Bael, apples, figs, pears, bananas, pinneaple) and vegetables (leafy vegetables like spinach, cabbage, carrots, cluster beans) contain lot of soluble fiber. Insoluble fiber is mainly found in rice, bran, strawberries and nuts. Both type are found in wheat, bran, whole grains, (whole meal pasta and whole meal bread) and dried fruits. Other rich sources of fiber include green peas, popcorn and prunes.

Beware of the chemical laxatives extensively advertised and available in the pharmacies. They are habit forming and make your colon so lazy that your bowels won’t come unless you use them.

There are many natural laxative and holistic treatments that can help treat symptoms of constipation and promote easier digestion, without the side effects commonly associated with OTC or prescription drugs. Natural laxative treatments that include herbal and homeopathic remedies can restore balance and regularity to the digestive system and bowel.

Nourishing herbs such as Aloe Ferox, Taraxacum officinale (Dandelion), and Passiflora incarnata have natural laxative properties and also act as a tonic for the liver. Other herbs that may also have a beneficial effect on the digestive system are Psyllium, a natural bulk forming laxative and Cascara and Senna to stimulate bowel movements. Remember to source your natural remedies from reputable companies to ensure maximum effectiveness and safety.
