Can That Extra Bit Of Stomach Chub Be Water Weight

Can water make you gain weight? If so, why?

This reminds me of a story my wrestling coach told me. Just some quick background info, wrestlers need to weigh under a certain amount in order to wrestle. It's a big part of the sport. So the high school team was getting ready for a tournament, and everyone was checking their weights. One kid had worked really hard to be under weight, and when checking saw he was successful. Most wrestlers will then just go and relax until weigh-ins, after which you are allowed to be over weight. This kid decided to drink about 2lbs worth of water right before weigh-ins, and why he drank so much he responded, “Water doesn't have any calories coach”. Anyways, he was unable to wrestle that tournament. So to answer your question, water makes you gain temporary weight, but since water does not calories, it will never make you gain fat.

How to get rid of lower stomach pooch? (belly fat)?

Since the new year I decided to take an exercise class twice a week. So that this wouldn't go to waste I started eating healthy (three healthy meals a day, wheat, veggies, chicken etc / 1 or 2 snacks like nuts, fruits, etc) and getting cardio at least 4 times a week.

The results were great after a few months I lost about 15 pounds and I finally look "thin" as apposed to just "average"

However, my lower stomach pooch remains and I just can't seem to figure out how to get rid of it! Though I have lost weight and am happy with where I am at, like most girls.. I just want a flat stomach!

I am also home for the summer, where I am not taking an exercise class nor do I have a gym to go to.......

So any ideas on 1. how to get rid of extra belly fat? and 2. how to keep the weight off while at home?

If I have a little bit of fat on my stomach would crunches get rid of that?

Per Dr. Fuhrman's books, Eat to Live and Eat for Health:

http://www.amazon.com/Eat-Health-Weight-...

Make vegetables the main dish of lunch and dinner and eat primarily fruit for breakfast. In all cases eat all you can and all you want to except limit starch to one serving a day [oatmeal, whole wheat pasta or bread, potatoes, whale grain or wild rice, etc.]. Eat at least 50% raw fruits and vegetables and most of the more nutrient dense selections like dark green lettuce, romaine, Swiss chard, spinach, etc. For maximum effectiveness eliminate all animal foods. Don't eat anything that is processed or that contains additives or oils of any kind. Don't drink fruit juice - eat the whole fruit instead.

Follow this for 6 weeks and read the books.

If you binge eat one day (3000 calories), will the extra weight be visible the next day?

It takes 3500 excess calories, approximately to gain a pound of fat. If you ate 3000 calories a day for 3 or 4 days in a row, you would probably end up gaining a pound, assuming you burn about 2000 calories a day. You could bloat up with water weight, though, from the binge day, and look about 3 pounds heavier. If you're small framed like me, it would be barely noticeable. If you have an average or large frame, it wouldn't be noticeable at all. I don't eat too much usually, so when I have a binge day, I end up getting sick and sometimes losing weight. Everyone is different. If you really want to have a special day and eat what you want, go ahead. Just wear loose fitting pants.

Does cold water make you gain fat (weight)?

Exactly the opposite. The human body is amazingly efficient at bipedal motion and can run for days while burning relatively few calories. But, put a human in cool water and it burns calories like crazy.  In the 1950's the US Navy did a study on why the soldiers in training were losing weight so fast.  It turned out that water conducts heat better than air, because it is 25 times denser than air.Michael Phelps' workout is no more intense than Usain Bolt's.  Yet Phelps can famously consume 10,000+ calories a day with no problem because he's in cool water all day during workouts.  Drinking cold water has the same basic effect as being in cool water (but to a much smaller degree), it makes your body expend calories to keep core temp up.  If you want to lose fat, your most efficient caloric path is to read a good book for 2 hours a day in a lightly uncomfortable cool bath, not sweating like a horse in the sun on a treadmill.  Or better yet, go for morning swims at an unheated pool.

Does water help you lose or gain weight?

People have told me that drinking a lot of water can aid to losing weight. I am still confused how it makes you lose weight? Does it flush out your fat or something? Once you drink water, and you weigh yourself right away, you actually gain weight.

I'm not trying to sound dumb or anything, but please no rude comments. Please help me :)

Why does my stomach get fat whenever I drink much water (will it make my belly fat)?

You DO NOT get fat from drinking water.(If you get fat from drinking water, every single on on Earth would be obese.)As highlighted by many, water has ZERO calories. Hence, drinking water does not make you fat in anyway. The reason why you stomach “may get fat” and bulge up is due to the fact that you may be drinking too much water at one go. This often happens when you’re:Just ate a pack salty snack i.e. potato chipsExtremely thirstyBeing in a warm weather for a long period of timeMore often than not, being in the above scenarios make one often to drink excessive amount of fluid due to extreme thirst. Thus, in order to quench the severe thirst, it is often that people tend to over-consume large amount of liquid at one go - which may cause the bloat of the tummy.Even though if you may be extremely thirsty or feel dehydrated, the best practice is to take small sips of water each time. This way, you will not drink large amount of liquids at one go, which may eventually harm your body.If you wish to know more fitness tips as well as sample workouts, read more at SevenFitness, a Diet and Exercise Tips Blog.
