Half liberal half conservative?
Yes, There are many people that consider themselves to be fiscally conservative and socially liberal. They are often called moderates and they will be the ones to decide this election. The extreme right or left wingnuts can not get anything accomplished and voters are sick of it.
Will Donald Trump actually serve a full four-year presidential term? How long will he last? I'm not suggesting impeachment. I'm wondering about his commitment to actually doing this for four straight years. Is this what he really wants?
I kind of think it will, not because he turns out to be a good president, but because he will surround himself with an army of people who will get lots of favors for keeping him in power. They will also make sure that people who do discover ethical and illegal activities are conveniently silenced somehow. Many people will be too fearful to speak out, and Trump will get away with all kinds of crap that would sink others. Many people have said that he wasn’t a normal candidate, because he breaks a lot of norms, like not showing his tax returns, etc etc. He will probably not be a normal president either. I predict that he will not put his business into a blind trust like other presidents have, and even though this will cause ethical problems and conflicts of interest, he will do it and get away with it. I don’t think regular laws apply to him. He has figured out ways to get away with things. This will not change, and no one will be able to pin anything on him. He will just win, no matter what, even if he has to do detestable things to win. This will become the new normal.
Could America and the world survive a second Trump term?
Of course. The Democrats have been shouting “THE SKY IS FALLING” for nearly three years now. Through Falling Unemployment numbers, Falling Welfare and Food Stamp costs..they bellowed and cried.They warned us all as manufacturing came back to the US, and Jobs returned. Even now, for the first time in US history there are more jobs than workers to fill them, and Democrats are yelling about incompetence! LOL Government regulations were cut and taxes were cut for the middle class… oh how the Democrats whined!Democrats have been crying for 20 years: “Bring our Boys Home!” We have no business fighting over there…making the Big Corporations Rich, and stealing their Oil.. President Trump listened and is bringing our troops home. Except now, the Democrats are calling him a “Traitor to our Allies”…President Trump Met with Kim Jong Un and made arrangements for the return of our war dead from the Korean war. 65 years later, and they are finally coming home to their families. Democrats Scoff at meetings with kim..they say “Trump Loves Dictators”.Democrats have been ranting about Russian Collusion for two years, and calling President Trump “Putin’s Lap Dog”…. in spite of the fact that Russia announced today that they can strike the USA with a nuclear missile in 5 minutes, and provided a list of targets which included the Pentagon, the White House, and Camp David.Did you watch the Kavanaugh hearings? WHO were the aggressors? In your mind, was it really the Conservatives who were doing all the “Bullying”?Things are not as they seem in your little neatly folded, liberal world. If you look around just a tiny bit, with your own two eyes, you’ll find that there are some pretty good things going on in this country right now. ( Hint: Take a look at your 401(k) and compare it to the amout of money you made when Obama was president. )The US will not only “Survive” it’s going to “accomplish”. You can choose to be part of it, or keep your blinders on and listen to your friends. Where will you be in five years?
12 countries are more developed than the U.S. Are their governments more liberal or conservative?
As other users have answered most of those countries are left-leaning and have smaller more homogeneous populations. I really just wanted to comment on consrgreat's knee-jerk response to the idea that another country might be just as great a place to live, if not better, than the US. And to point out that not many people from those countries want to come here. The one's that do come here from those countries are usually sent by the companies they work for.
Why do people think that the middle east is not intelligent enough to run their own country?
I have been thinking about that, they are an ancient culture that has survived for thousands of years. The USA is a fairly new country and form of government. When they talk about the USA leaving Iraq it is like they are so stupid they don't have the ability to run their own country. Why does everyone think that Bush is so smart and superior to all those people over there. I mean it is their country shouldn't they be able to run it like they want. How would we feel if they said, I don't like the way Bush is running your country so we are sending in troops to tell you how to govern your country? Am I wrong? somehow it just doesn't seem right that someone on the other side of the world can tell people what is best for them? Is Bush really that much smarter than all the people in the middle east?
