Can They Make Us Work On Giving

What do you think of your boss giving you busy work?

What do you think of your boss giving you busy work?It depends. Is the alternative that you go home without pay? For most people, they would rather have the busy work. When the economy crashed in 2007, 8, 9, I used a lot of busy work to keep my people paid, much to my own financial detriment. I knew they had mortgages or rent, & kids to feed.Or is it that it’s slow for a few hours, but people need to be there for the customers that do come in. You can’t expect to be paid to stand around doing nothing. And these busy work jobs need to be done, sooner or later.I think if you like collecting a paycheck, you she be glad for busy work. I guarantee your employer would much rather not have to pay people when there is no productivity, not income source at the moment.

Can i give inmates working on the side of the road cigarettes?

It's a violation for the prisoner to possess tobacco and they'd get a write-up for that.

As for you, the law states that it's a class 1 misdemeanor to give an inmate tobacco on the grounds of an institution. I don't know whether the roadside is considered to temporarily be the "grounds of an institution" for the purposes of this law. You also commit a misdemeanor if you give tobacco to someone to give to some in prison, so you might be in trouble if you gave one inmate a smoke, and he gave it to another inmate before they got back to the prison.

Do you get free food working in a restaurant?

no major chain give employees free food that I am aware. Usually employees get a discount on meals eaten during their shift only, maybe 10% to 15% at the most. Not only do employees not get free food, they aren't even allowed to take home extra food at the end of the day. They would rather throw it out then give it to the employees. Sounds harsh, but if they let employees take home extras, then at the end of the day there would be a LOT more extras for some mysterious reason.

Do you agree that giving bribes is unethical? Have you ever bribed anyone to get your work done?

BRIBE, in any form is 'unethical', and a very 'unfair' practice. What we pay people for their normal job is called 'wage'. 'Incentive', when they exert more effort beyond their normal job. Now, we can't say that 'incentive' and 'bribe' have identical purpose. No! 'Incentive' is given 'after' a hard work or excellent work performance is done; While 'bribe' is usually pushed or offered 'prior' to a favor asked.
'Bribe' is definitely one 'unethical' way that lures one into corruption of spirit. 'Under the table' transactions sure seem to benefit blindly both sides as one gets his illegalities done, while the other illegally earns a favor. Both parties share a common denomination -- a low morality.

Can you leave early after giving your two-weeks notice?

Ask your employer if they want you to work your notice, if they say yes, they need you to stay, if they say its up to you , They have it covered. If you can hang in there you will probably be better off!

Can an new employer require you to give them your original birth certificate?

That's along with a copy of your state ID/license and social security card.
Adecco Staffing told me they require my original birth certificate, my driver's license, and social security card.
I was born and raised in America, served in the military, and have been working since I was 15. I don't feel I should have to give anyone my original birth certificate for employment if they have a copy of my ID and social security card.
