Can This Become An Eating Disorder Asked Before But Never Adde In Info

Boyfriend with Selective Eating Disorder?

Well, meat is not a necessity, but suggesting vitamins with iron might be a positive supplement.
(this can be overdone, he should get medical advice if unsure.)

Stretch the veg... maybe by suggesting one experiment a week? Cauliflower cheese, beans on toast,
Pasta salad...
Try the idea of it by analogy adding clubs to his golf bag, or any imagery which might get the idea across: more flexibility acquired will lead to less stress, due to having a bigger comfort zone.

But there is also plenty of utterly boneless meat around, if that is the actual issue.... ultrathin sliced lean ham for example.. each slice can be inspected, and that will go in a tortilla wrap with cheese and lettuce or guacamole.. all sorts of tastes.

Don't forget the fruit avenue, too: yoghurts, seedless grapes... Apples etc. Made as strained smoothies, perhaps, if "bits" is again an issue.

Lots of options.

What should you never say to someone who has an eating disorder?

I assume you are referring to someone with anorexia? Most bulimics are of normal weight so people around them do not know they have been binging and purging multiple times a day. However anorexics tend to be very skinny so their appearances can attract other people’s attention.Around anorexics you should try not to mention anything about weight, appearance or food, because all comments related to those three things can be misinterpreted. For example if you say to an anorexic, “You look great! You look healthier,” then the person with anorexia may misinterpret you as calling her fat and she has gained a lot of weight, even though that is not your intent.Asking the anorexic to “eat more” in reference to food is also counter productive. In the treatment program I was at, we never used the words, “weight gain.” Instead we used the words, “weight restoration” which was indeed more appropriate for the situation, because our goal really was to restore the weight to a healthy range. In some treatment programs, the patient is allowed to step on the scale backward without knowing what her weight is during the weight restoration process. However in other treatment programs, including the one I practiced at, the patient is asked to see her weight that is monitored twice or three times a week.On one hand, seeing your weight is part of the exposure therapy in order for the anorexic to overcome her fear. On the other hand the patient should not be weighed daily so as not to perpetuate her obsession about her weight. It is not an easy process to balance those competing thoughts.

What was the lowest point in your eating disorder?

When someone with an eating disorder restricts their calorie intake to extreme levels, it's called restricting, and is extremely dangerous. At the time, I was eating about 200-500 calories per day, and exercising about 50 off. I have the logs, though I have no will or want to check for specifics. This fast had only been going on for a week, and was decidedly not the worst. The actual lowest point was a binge I'd had a week in-a binge is when someone with a restrictive eating disorder “breaks" and eats foods, often excessively. In my case, I had ramen noodles, about 400 calories if I remember correctly. That would put me up to 700 calories, meaning I'd have to sweat off at least 200 in the few hours before midnight or else I'd fail. I knew that as I boiled the water, added the noodles, and stirred in the spices. I was already straining, thinking of an exercise my weak body could handle that'd burn 200 cal. I knew I shouldn't, but I was too hungry. I scarf the noodles down as soon as they were finished. To exercise sooner, I'd reasoned with my mind. I was eating, eating, eating…Until I ran into the bathroom and promptly threw up. I didn't mean to. I'd tried to, before, as a sort of pick-your-poison, but I'd never had enough of a gag reflex to be bulimic. Nevertheless, there I was on my knees, and not in the fun way. I threw up all the noodles, my stomach heaving, and my mind already preoccupied with how many calories I'd actually eaten, given that I'd thrown most of it up. Then before I could even flush the toilet, I had diarrhea for the rest of it, a very unpleasant experience.I guess it was when my body was so unused to foods I used to eat all the time I threw up that I really knew I had an eating disorder. Yay?

Can somebody develop food addiction?

I get annoyed by the misuse of the term “addiction,” but eating disorders are certainly common, including compulsive eating. Eating is necessary, just as breathing is. But frankly it would be silly to say someone is “addicted to oxygen” just because they keep breathing, and pretending that they have a mental illness or deserve workman’s compensation because of it.That being said, if you find your eating patterns out of control and swing back and forth between eating too little and eating too much, you should see a mental health professional and/or an eating disorders clinic. You’re not alone, and there are good treatments, you can get past this and feel better about yourself. Better to do this earlier rather than later; unchecked eating disorders can lead to diabetes and other problems and can sometimes ultimately be fatal.

Pain under ear when eating?

I've had this problem off and on (usually "off") for as long as I can remember. It's never been a major problem, so I've never talked to a doctor about it. But it's sticking around longer than usual this time and it's exceptionally annoying.
Anyhow.. it's a really sharp pain under my right ear whenever I eat something (especially something sweet but it occurs now with other foods as well). Afterwards it feels like my ear is draining but I never have any real proof if it is.
I have NO teeth (long story- but I had this problem when I did have them too) so I don't have any exposed nerves or anything. I also have no cuts or sores in my mouth so I'm really confused.
If anyone knows what this is, do you know how I can make it go away or feel better lol?

Other things that might be important... I've been REALLY tired lately (16 hours a day is not enough)- but I'm addicted to dreaming and I take Provigil to keep me awake but ran out.
My allergies are also flaring.
I also have slight TMJ.

My cat ALWAYS acts very hungry- is there something wrong?

We have a 3-year-old Sphynx cat. She used to be on free choice dry food before we got her (about a year ago), but now she is on 6oz of raw Stella and Chewy's frozen food (thawed) spread out into 3 meals per day. She is an extremely petite cat, and usually weighs in at 5-7lbs, although she definitely isn't underweight.
She is always meowing and begging for food, even immediately after she eats. She will jump onto tables to eat scraps, etc. If given free choice food, she'll eat until she throws up, then she eats more.

Is there anything we can do to make her feel "full", or stop the begging? She has been given a clean bill of health by the vet. According to the instructions on the raw food, we are feeding her 150% of what she needs for her body weight.

Please help :)
