Can This Phone Have Skype On It

How can you use skype for free on a smartphone?

I'm aware that on a computer, you have an account on skype and you can call other people that have skype accounts. This is completely for free; you're only charged for calling house/cell phones directly.

On my smartphone (droidx), I can log into the skype app with my regular skype account and I see my list of contacts, who also have accounts. Now.. If my friend has a smartphone too and does the exact same thing, can I call this friend on skype (account to account, NOT account to cellphone#) for FREE? Or will it still try to charge me for minutes?

Skype on iPhone 3g???

Im just wondering im going to download skype on my iPhone 3g I just want to know does it work the same as on my macbook? I know i can video call on my mac but on the iPhone is it just a normal phonecall? or is it video call too? I have the iPhone 3g so the camera is on the back of the phone? I know this is probably a stupid question but if anyone has the answer it would be appreciated thanks :P

No, your Skype ID cannot be a phone number.A few years ago, you could choose your own Skype ID (also known as Skype Name). I believe that it could not begin with a digit. These days, to create a Skype account, you also create a Microsoft account. Your Microsoft account USERNAME, with which you login to Skype or to your Microsoft account, can be created FROM a phone number or from an email address.Once you've done this, a Skype Name (Skype ID) will be created for you.For accounts based on an email address, such as myemail@domain.com, your Skype Name will look something like live:myemail.1For accounts based on a phone number, such as +1–555–555–5555, your Skype Name will look like a pseudo-random string of hexadecimal numbers, such as 3E2CAB779F104DBCNote that your username and Skype Name are fixed but you can easily edit your Profile Name. Your Profile Name is usually your first name and last name, and is one way in which others can find you in the Skype directory, but because you can edit your Profile Name, you could potentially set it to your phone number if you really wish too… but there is no need because you can also be found in the Skype directory by your phone number, if you either use it to create your account or if you add it to your profile later. If this seems all too complicated, consider trialling one of the new breed of one-touch Skype-based video phones such as the Konnekt Videophone designed specifically for seniors and those with poor hearing or vision, shaky hands, dementia or a disability. The service includes account management. So in summary, your Skype ID can't be your phone number but people can find you by your phone number if you wish them to be able to.

You can.Several of my candidates have done it, but the quality isn’t the best.Desktop is the best, followed by a laptop, followed by an ipad, and then the iphone. If you have to use your phone, then use it - make sure that you test it before hand with a friend.Try to take the call from a room where you can keep the phone in front of you (and not hold it) - if the network connection is good enough. Having Wi-fi will be great.Actually, rethinking, if you have a table where you can manage to rest the phone and a good wi-fi, then iphone should be as good as other devices.Just maintain appropriate distance from the phone - not too far but not too close.

How do you know which phones are capable of using Skype?

First you'd be wanting a telephone which could settle for the skype software. If the phone has wifi and also you're at a wifi hotspot, it will be completely loose. Else you want a 3G telephone with an endless (or very tremendous) files plan, that's totally expensive. a more budget friendly answer is only to purchase a skype wifi telephone. which includes, Belkin wireless telephone for Skype (F1PP000GN-SK).

Can you put skype on a tracfone??

The answer is probably no - on my tracfone I can't even put in new games or ring tones.

The point of tracfone is to have a cheap basic phone, if you want fancy stuff you don't want tracfone.

Do i need to have wifi to skype?

same with music apps also, to download a free music app, does it cost to get songs and to play those songs if you dont have wifi where your at? i guess you can tell ive never had a smart phone lol.

Are you getting calls in you mobile Skype client? You should be able to block the user. If you get calls in you Skype app from random users, you can write down a list with detailed information such as date, time and complete phone and send it to Skype, following this indications: What should I do if I see abusive behavior on Skype? If you are getting regular phone calls, how do you know they are originated in Skype and not in other voip app or any phone provider? (I've seen similar questions in the Skype Community but never had a clear feedback about how they knew the calls were from a Skype client).

Is nexus 7 good phone can we use webcam while using Skype?

while the nexus 7 is not a phone technically, you can use it to make internet calls (i use Talkatone) and it works fine as long as you are OK having it on speaker phone.

and yes you can use the Front camera to Skype with people.

If you're calling over wifi, then, no. If you're calling over cellular data, using a Skype to go number, then it will use data. It's only when you're using the voice network that you're billed by the minute. At AT&T, it's usually the data you pay for, unless you're on a grandfathered plan. If that's the case, why are you still on that plan? You might be paying too much. Regardless of carrier, check to see if there are better plans for the way you use your phone.
