Can Two Green Cheeked Conures Share A Cage

Can a Green Cheeked Conure live with other types of birds?

Hello, so I had a Buddgy and a green cheecked conure , they lived together in one cage but my conure always bitted the budgy and they didn’t get along, so now my budgy died ( he was 6 years old, and died just because he was old) So no I am looking for a friend for my conure because she is lonely, but I dont want to get one more conure, I want different breed. So my question is would Green Cheek conure get along with other birds such as Cockatiels ( I just love them), Quaker Parakeet, other types of conures such as Jenday Conure, or African Gray parrots and Amazon parrots? Will some of those breeds get along with my green checked conure? I just don’t want to buy a parrot and see them fight all the time, and I also want them to live in one cage (I have a big cage)

Do green cheek conures make good family birds?

A green cheek conure can be a wonderful addition to your house. Especially since you seem to love birds already. A conure is like the next level up in care and time from budgies.

They tend to favour one person, and there is absolutely no way of knowing who that person may be. Sometimes the bird can attach to the person who cares the least for him/her and spends the littlest time. There is know 100% way of knowing that the conure will bond with your daughter. However, if everyone spends enough time and treats him/her with respect (while not always trying to be the "good guy" sometimes a little time-out is needed) s/he can enjoy the company of the human flock. A conure with many human friends will typically be more well behaved and if s/he ever had to find a new family than s/he could adjust with less emotional distress than a bird who trusts only one person.

Whether or not the conure can be out at the same time as your budgies is completely up to the conure and the budgies. Like people, a conure (and your budgies) may choose to like the other birds, or hate them. Never put the new bird out with the others to test this. At first, put their cages beside each other to see how they react to each other. I personally would not let them both out together unsupervised.

I think a green cheek conure is a good choice for a pet bird. Many other types of conures can be extremely loud, and some (such as the sun conure) have a natural screech for a voice. Parrotlets can also make wonderful pets as well, and have almost identical care patterns as a green cheek. If your looking for a slightly "quieter" bird (if quiet can be used to describe any bird) you could also consider a cockatiel. Cockatiels usually bond quite easily with many people.

Hope that helps.!

Can i keep a green cheeked conure and two parakeets(budgies) together in the same cage?

I have a 2 year old sun conure and a 7 months old Yellow Peril Cockatiel and I had hopped they could live in the same cage but not a chance. The counure will chace the poor little tiel and bite him. The conure has a mouth so big that he could bite the tiels head off if he could get chance. I tried putting both cages side by side and the counure would walk around on top of the tiels cage and try to nip him any chance he got. I set them across the room and they after 3 months will go to each others cage and eat each others food now but still fight some. Back when we first got the tiel he got down and the floor and was walking up the ladder to the counures cage and the conure grabed him by his feathers that stick up on top of his head and tried to yank him off the ladder and drop him in the floor. Was funny but still had to run to save the little guy. He has learned to defend himself a lot better now. But we have to keep an eye on the conure. The conure will even wait till he sees the cat asleep and go bit him so by all means do not put a conure in a cage with smaller birds. you will have dead birds when you look back.

2 conures in the same cage?? HELPP!!(:?

Okay, so I have a Nanday conure, and I really want a sun conure, but I'm not gonna' abandon my bird, so I want to keep both of them. My bird is 3 years old, and he is a male, and I want to get a bird the same age as him, and I want them to go in the same cage, once I get a bigger one. So here are my questions (please answer them in order, if you can)

1. Should I get one of the same sex, or a different sex?
2. If I get one of a different sex, can my bird mate and forget about me? or if I get a another boy will he bond with that bird as part of his flock and possibly forget me to?
3. Would I have to give them each a separate hour of attention a day? or just play with them together?

Thank Youuu! (: P.S. I'm only 13, about to be 14, and I already have a great knowledge of parrots, and can name like all of them if you show me picture, so I already know the basics, and I don't have a lot of money, and all that much time to spend with them because I am still in High School (going this year) , but I may consider waiting till I have my own house, and get one when I am older,

THanks againnnn!

Can a sun conure and a cockatiel live in the same cage?

they can but that depends on how your conure socialized with your cockatiel. 2 bird cages would be a great idea in case they might not socialized or bond. but they might bond together and you can't. so spend time witch each of them. oh, and if they have different needs like food, medicine, care, you might want to seperate them when it comes to feeding time unless they have the same needs. if you want to be close with your conures, you don't wanna get another bird for conure cuz' your conure will bond to the other bird and not you. family of parakeets probably your best bet that can bond with your conures.

Can I keep a pineapple Green-cheeked conure with a Cockatiel?

Generally speaking, it is seldom a good idea to keep two different types of birds in the same cage. The best thing to do is to put them in separate cages next to each other, but not so close that they can reach each other through the bars. If they are tame enough to be outside their cages under supervision, then keep a close eye on them and be prepared to separate them at any sign of aggression. Unless they have an exceptionally good relationship, they should always have their own cages to escape to since most birds can be quite territorial.

Can cockatiels and green cheeks live together?

I don't see why they can't but as far as having babies I have no idea would be a intresting mix but seeing how the birds get along together you should be able to keep them in the same cage ifyou are not playing with them other wise it's best to keep them seperated as they will become aggressive towards you because there together. My Quakers did that to me.

Can I put my 2 budgies in my sun conure cage?

NO! Size differences aside (budgies would 80 to 90% chance be killed by the conure), sun conures are quite possibly the most obnoxious small/medium birds ever, and I would personally be worried about housing a sun conure with anything but another sun conure, and even then, I foresee something going wrong.

Budgies are far too docile to be caged with a sun conure, and budgies, although small, don't seem to have the understanding of how small they are and can pick fights with bird far larger than them without realizing how horribly they'll lose.

Can a lovebird and a conure live together?

On no account put these two species in the same cage together, not even if your Lovebird is a baby, two separate cages yes but never in the same cage,
If you want a Lovebird then by all means get one but it must be kept in it's own cage and never allowed to come in contact with your Conure,
Lovebirds can make delightfull pets when on their own , but not so when they are in the company of another species.they will always show curiosity to the other bird but they are devils at nipping off toes so do not even let a Lovebird out near another birds cage,
