Can U Give Me An Example Of A Prologue About Your Past Writing Experience Plzz

Breaking Dawn's prologue?

Ok so I was just on Amazon last night and I pre-ordered Breaking Dawn! And my Eclipse book is hardcover and does not have the prologue or first chapter in it! So I was wondering where can I read them both! It would be nice if you could post links! The first chapter that I read online started talking about her thinking everyone was staring at her with her ring on and how she had a new car and a black credit card and so on... so I really didn't get it when other people started talking about how she said that someone she loved was going to kill her! But they cannot kill Bella the next book is going to be in Edwards point of veiw! Stephenie Meyer alerady has the name picked out its like rising sun or something like that I am not really sure!!!!!

Now I am soooo pumped for the book! It will feel like years before August comes!
Well thank you for answering my question I really appreciate it!

*Just a reminder i am not looking for some discussion I am just looking for and answer thanks!

A Sample of my writing. Tell me what you think.?

Woah, that was amazing. I could definitley tell it were her thoughts. I'll try to be specific, but I'm not very good on being brutal. For one, I really love your detail and imagery. And the metaphor about the battle being a ball was a genius idea. It sounded perfect. There are a few typos, but those are fixed in simple editing. You might want to change "the thought would make her laugh" to "the thought would have made her laugh". Also at the end of the first paragraph, where she pauses, I don't think you need to add anything else. Just keep it as she paused to stare at the sight of war, the sight of blood, and the sound of swords clashing. Otherwise it was perfect. I would hope you could reconsider using this as your prologue because it would probably hook all your readers. It definitley hooked me. I want to read more. Good luck with the rest :)

How can I write preface for art and work experience?

can u please elaborate on this question. It is not too clear. write what exactly want. Are you trying to say that you have some experience in art and want to write it in your resume for job searching. If yes, please write what kind of art and what kind of job you are looking for. I will answer this question once this becomes a bit more clear.

Do you skip or read the prologue in a book?

On Y!A I have noticed that some people don't like prologues. I have read people's comments stating that prologues are pointless and some don't even bother to read them.

The only part of a book that I skip is the author's note - that is something I think books can do without ahah.

In every book that I have picked up and has contained a prologue; I have made sure to read it. I think that prologues add to the story.

My current piece that I am writing, has a prologue that is actually very important to the story - my idea would work without it, but i think with it, my idea is much more grounded.

The scene won't work as being in the first chapter or any other chapter thereafter, so I decided to add a prologue for that one very important scene - the importance isn't seen until you near the end of the story, but once you get the twist, you go back to the scene to..."put the pieces together"

I believe that if someone were to skip my prologue and go on with the story, they would still understand the story, but the prologue would definitely be beneficial to read.

My question is - Do you read or skip the prologue? Why do you or don't you? What makes you think it is unnecessary or necessary?

I mean, technically, a prologue is still part of the book, isn't it? Isn't the prologue just another chapter, if not, is it not at least a bit of a back story? Isn't a prologue information that adds to the story?

I like prologues, and I'm not trying to...condemn people who don't read them, I just want to know why they don't.

Thanks for answering :)

Oh and have a happy new year!

Can someone help me understand the General Prologue of the Canterbury Tales?

My teacher assigned us to write the description of every character in the prologue and find the evidence that Chaucer is satirizing the character.

I know what satire is and all, but I can't exactly find any evidence of it in the text. Can someone please give me an example of the satire of one character and explain to me why it's satire, please? I would prefer the Knight or Squire, but any character is good.

Thanks in advance.

Is it possible to write a 3 sentence plot summary of Macbeth?

Sure;

1) Macbeth's wife sees that if the king is killed, her husband is next in line, so she kills the king.
2) She feels guilt so she punishes herself for the crime and tries to take Macbeth down with her.
3) Macbeth finally realizes the old king was killed by his wife to advance HIS career and regrets her actions on his behalf.

You REALLY need MORE than 3 sentences, maybe 6 to 10... There are nuances that are missing from the 3 sentences which are crucial to understanding WHY Macbeth and his wife acted as they did in the play.

SEEKING FOR CRITIQUES!!: Foreword/Preface for my portfolio?

Hi everyone, as a fresh graduate design student I'm currently in the process of building my portfolio and resume. The Portfolio was created to show some of my design works to pontential clients or potential studios/employers. I had written a foreword/preface for the as an introduction piece before the readers get to see the work collection, but since I'm not a native English speaker, I wonder if my choice of words are grammatically correct and appropriate? do they sound professional enough? What do you think about it?

So this is my foreword:

"Welcome to my portfolio, this portable document file features personally selected design works which examplify my best efforts during my academic phase, the compilation itself serves as an account of my progress as a visual designer.

I deem my everyday life as a learning process as I continuously grow from one project to another, thus I certainly hope that these works will not be the best that I could create. I hope you enjoy viewing my work as much as I enjoyed making them."

END

Thanks in advance.

What is the difference between "preface," "foreword," "introduction" and "prologue"?

Introduction:  (also known as a prolegomenon) is a beginning section of the book which states the purpose and goals of the following writing and is usually written by the author himself.Foreword: It is a short introduction at the beginning of a book, which is usually written by someone other than the author or editor, usually someone eminent (to lend credibility to the book.)Prologue: It is an act, scene, event, or development that precedes the main action of the book. It may start the action and be PART of the action, though it could take place in the middle of the action — may be a pivotal moment. If you have a prologue, you must also have an epilogue, as in  classical drama. An epilogue provides comments outside the main action that give insight into what happened. The main actions in the book may take place in one period and the reader will want to know what happened afterward. That kind of follow-up could appear in an epilogue.Preface: It is that part of the book which answers the following questions about the book, 'Why this book?', 'Why now?', 'Why this person?', 'Why by this author?' etc. References: Writers and Editors, The difference between a preface, foreword, and, introduction...
