Can U Write This In A Paragraph. I Need It For College

For each paragraph you write for an essay, do you space down a line and indent?

when writing papers for school do I need to skip a line for each paragraph and then indent? Or as I write my paper do I just indent or just continue writing without doing either or?

Does it matter if your essay is more than five paragraphs in college?

If your teacher/prof has asked for a five-paragraph essay, give him or her a five-paragraph essay. And then, for the rest of your life, try to forget EVERYTHING that teacher/prof taught you about writing. The five-paragraph essay is an abomination created almost solely for ease of marking (some schools even have software that marks it). Here’s an exercise I used to give my college students: try to find a real five-paragraph essay. Not an essay that has been written in order to show how to write five-paragraph essays, and not an essay that has been written in response to a demand to write a five-paragraph essay, and not an essay that happens to be five paragraphs long but doesn’t follow the formula you’ve been taught for a “proper” five-paragraph essay. No, what you’re looking for is a five-paragraph essay written by a real writer.Good luck. Seriously. I used to offer five marks to anyone who could bring me one. They don’t exist — at least, not by real published writers. (I had to give up offering the marks because students spent too much time trying to find this non-existent creature.)I know of one (1) written by a real writer, and if you can’t find any, I’ll be happy to tell you what it is.But in the meantime, earn your marks and get the hell out of that class.Meanwhile, check out these links to find out more about why the five-paragraph essay is an abomination.Kill the 5-Paragraph Essay | Just VisitingTaught To Remove All ThoughtPS: If you instinctively feel that there is something wrong about the five-paragraph essay, congratulations. You just may have the makings of a real writer.

What is the maximum number of paragraphs a college essay can have?

As Victoria says, ‘depends’.In light of that, always - always - obtain the essay requirements before you begin writing. If you don’t, then having different expectations about what you need to provide, and then turning in something different, may severely impact your grade. If they want a 5-paragraph essay, then write a 5-para essay. If they want something else, then find out exactly what’s required. It’s up to you to do so. If you don’t, you’ll be the one who suffers.

I need five paragraphs concerning this writing prompt below .?

I can appreciate the wording of the question but I'm not going to write the five paragraphs for you but here are some ideas you might want to look at.
In Europe (Germany etc.) they do year round schooling with breaks for holidays of course. But, the school days are shorter and when you reach what is equivalent to our High school years in the US, one can either branch off and go to trade school or their first years of College or University (I believe it is around tenth grade where "high school" branches off. Now what is good or bad about that?

I think if you brainstorm some ideas and maybe use some models of other countries you might make some good arguments for or against.

Ie. What it the average drop out rate for each school year? If you can assert that the most people drop out of high school around tenth grade anyway why couldn't that be the cutoff to go to trade school or college but the positive, you already went to school year round anyway and technically met the requirements to graduate after ten years of schooling instead of twelve... not to bad really if you think about it. Now there are still the other options of trade school, college or just plain go to work (caveat there is at the age of sixteen or seventeen not as many career opportunities and you can't even join (or go to basic) in the military until you are 18.

Might just want to look at how some other countries do it, come up with some key points but do like a "compare and contrast" type paper where you point out the good (graduate earlier but with the same level of education) and the bad (IBM doesn't hire sixteen year olds) then the good (but you can start trade school or college two years earlier than the US does now) and just roll with it. Well those are my thoughts and how I would tackle this paper but in any case if you can't use that maybe we made you think of a few points on your own and in any case, hope it helped.

Do I need to indent every paragraph in an essay?

Yes, it looks more professional and it shows that you know how to write a paper correctly. To make sure your paper is completely formatted correctly, refer to the MLA format below.

How many paragraphs should generally be in a two page essay?

Well you definitely need an introduction and a conclusion so that's two already. You can use about 3 to 4 body paragraphs to explain your main points, use one paragraph for dating in colonial times, one paragraph for dating in present day, and one paragraph explaining the differences. So you have a total of 5 or 6 paragraphs you can write. However to reach the two page minimum it depends on how much you write for each paragraph or if you get your point across rather quickly. You can have short paragraphs or long ones, but if you're still in high school then follow their 5 to 6 sentences per paragraph, you get much more writing freedom when you're in college. Good luck on your paper :)

Do you skip lines when you write an essay between paragraphs?

Get hold of a style book. All of the major publishers have their own style books which lays out the style the publisher wants to see in any submitted materials. For example, all manuscripts are usually triple spaced which leaves plenty of room for an editor to make comments and corrections. Pick up a book, several books, and look at the page format. You will see that lines between paragraphs and indenting is variable from book to book. It appears better on a page if you indent the first line of each paragraph and leave a blank line between paragraphs Who are you submitting this paper TO? Ask that person what style they expect to see. When writing by hand in my journal notebooks, 3 ring binders actually, I use narrow lined paper, also called college ruled, indent the first line of each paragraph and I do NOT leave any blank lines.I write from the first line on the page until there are 3 lines remaining. I put a page number on the 2nd of the 3 blank lines at the bottom of the page. I only write on one side so any ink bleeding into the paper or impressions do not interfere with any writing on the back of the page. I prefer to use a fountain pen, but have used gel roller ball pens from time to time when I find one which fits my hand AND smoothly rolls.

When writing a college essay, do you have to write the essay in paragraphs like introduction, body, and conclusion? What way should it be formatted?

Any kind of writing — not just college essays — must have the general elements of introduction, body and conclusion — because it’s simply impossible to write anything without those elements. The running order of what goes into the introduction, body and conclusion depends on the nature of your subject matter and how you lay out your facts or issues of the subject matter. For instance, if you’re required to write 1,000 words, it’s just pretty hard and unreadable to have just three gigantic paragraphs of 330 words each. They need to be split into smaller, more digestible lengths. So the introductory may be better as two or three paragraphs each of around 70–100 words, and the same for the other elements.

Can an essay have 2 body paragraphs?

Yes. It can also have only one if you so desire. There is an issue with your question though. An essay is split into sections not paragraphs. While shorter essays will often have one paragraph per section most will have multiple. Paragraph and section are not interchangeable terms. If you wish to only have two paragraphs then you will need to make the core point sections into one paragraph. I would advise against this though. The reason most essays are structured with 5 total sections is because they cover everything that you need to have in an essay. If you consider that you can’t skip the introduction or the conclusion then the body sections are the only ones you can fiddle around with. You could have the discussion section pushed into the conclusion for shorter essays or you could combine elsewhere but the point remains that if you need to compare and contrast two different ideas and topics then you are going to have to have two different sections for that.If your essay doesn’t require a compare and contrast level of comparison then I don’t see why you couldn’t squash the sections down.At the end of the day it is up to you and the teacher you are handing the work to whether it is a good idea or not.
