Notary publics - do they have people to witness documents there or do we have to bring our own witnesses?
My husband and I just created our wills, power of attorney documents, and healthcare power of attorney documents. Now we have to go to a notary to get our documents notorized and we have to sign them there in the presence of 2 witnesses. Do the notaries usually have people to witness the documents in their office or do we have to bring our own? Thanks.
Is it compulsory to attest the document with Gazetted officer or to self attest in SSB?
It is not that difficult to get documents attested, Suvidha kendra, e-sampark centers do it, however the SC has quashed attestation of documents way back, so even if it isn’t attested that’s fine, the board will attest them for you after recommendation as it is filled with gazetted officers all around. Focus on getting rec, rest all just fits in place. I had a fellow candidate who didn’t get her crucial documents at all, yet somehow luckily she slipped through the doc check process and got rec. Afterwards they found out that she was carrying all photocopies but not originals, they took an undertaking and she’s an officer now.
Difference b/w a certified document and notarized document.?
Certified generally means that the issuing entity (like a court clerk) "certifies" that it is a true copy of an official document and places an official (often embossed) seal on the document. A Notary generally confirms only that a signature was made in their presence, and that the person had an i.d. But, just to make life interesting, Notaries can attest that a copy is a true copy, and court clerks can also be Notaries.
