Why is it so hard to stop eating ice cream?

Why is it so hard to stop eating ice cream?Easy: Sugar and Fat!Ice cream is typically sweet and the ‘cream’ is the fatty part of milk. Us humans have evolved to love sugar because it provides energy and converts to fat quickly.https://www.businessinsider.com/...Fat greatly contributes to eating pleasure and provides energy.https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/p...So, ice cream is hard to stop eating because it provides sugar and fat and we have evolved to like sugar and fat.Enjoy your ice cream!!( I like white chocolate and raspberry)

Where did all the ice cream trucks go?

My $0.02.When I was a kid, we played outside. Winter, spring, summer and fall.We didn’t have video games tying us to a TV, didn’t have cable (just what we can get over the airwaves, about four channels with no ability to record any TV). Cell phone? Computer? Tablet? Please. AM radio ruled the day.We played cowboys and Indians, street hockey, had roller skates that clamped onto our sneakers, etc. It tended to get pretty hot in the summer and when the sound of an ice cream truck entered the neighborhood, every kid instantly knew it.Trucks competed against each other, one truck told the kids to always tell other trucks that his truck already made the rounds (whether it did or not, he’d be by later anyway) resulting in that truck rushing off to another neighborhood to be the first truck through.*Today, I have nephews (almost teenagers) that stay inside an air conditioned house playing games on either their phone, computer or one of several video game consoles. One game they’ve been hooked on for a while is called Minecraft or something that sounds like minesweeper. They have friends over or they visit friends, but the end result is they are inside an air conditioned house playing with something electronic based (Vid game, phone, etc.).If an ice cream truck rolls through their neighborhood, they probably won’t hear it from inside the house. After all, all the windows are closed to contain the A/C.Even when I had their family out on a camping trip in the Rockies and we were driving to a point to go hiking, the view outside was all mountain (absolutely beautiful), the kids had their noses stuck in their cell phones. Now, it may sound like I’m bashing the current generation, but I’m not. It’s just the way things migrated. People my parent’s age didn’t approve of a lot of things we did, like listen to the latest Cheech and Chong album. Times change. Wasn’t there a home delivery system for milk once?I just wonder how it will be for the next generation. Maybe immersion in VR.

How do I stop my ice cream addiction?

Your choice of the word ‘'addiction’ is interesting. It’s also interesting that you describe this addiction as limited specifically to ice cream. It is definitely and completely possible to be addicted to food. I went to church with a woman who weighed 300+ pounds when I met her. She joined Overeaters’ Anynomous and is now at a healthy weight. She considers her relationship with food to be similar to an alcoholic’s relationship with alcohol—food was comforting; eating was the only way for her to feel anything at all, let alone happy; she hid her habits and behaviors from her family because she was ashamed of how much she ate and how little control she had over her behavior.Overeaters’ Anonymous has the same general framework as Alcoholic’s Anonymous. You have a sponsor, and you quit cold turkey. No little sips, or bites, here and there, because a single taste is enough to send you back into addiction. But how do you ‘quit’ food? You can't, at least not the same way you can quit drinking. My friend’s life was literally in danger from her weight, so she took drastic steps to save herself, and she will live the way she is living for all her days. She weighs and measures every single morsel that enters her mouth. She knows exactly how much of what she has eaten; more than that, she has planned ahead of time exactly what she will eat, down to the last gram. She never cheats. She never eats any type of refined carbohydrates or sugars. No processed foods except for cheese, no fast food, no soda, nothing! Her relationship with food has become functional where it was dysfunctional. She eats to fuel her body, not to enjoy eating (but she says she does love her healthy meals.) This is probably inconvenient, and probably alienating in some ways, but she feels that it is her only option. It works for her and it works for many other people. If you are addicted the same way my friend is addicted, there are resources. Look online for your local Overeater’s Anonymous group. They also have a very lively online presence, so if you can't find anyone to collaborate with in your area, you can start a chapter on your own.If you just really like ice cream, that's a different story.

What is ice cream so addicting? How can I stop? 10 points to best!?

I don't know what it is about ice cream that is so addicting (I've heard of sugar addiction... lol, but...)
It's the one thing that I can't help but eat more than I should of... when it's in the house I can't control it. I get the frozen yogurt kind which is better for you, but I keep going back for more- this is my one drawback.

How can I stop? Just simply not having it in the house isn't gonna work because the others living in my house won't let me say no more ice cream.
So... I try to portion it out but I always get more... now what?

Why does ice cream make you so thirsty?

Isn't that the truth! ..... I remember driving on vacations with my parents, when I was little, and we'd stop for ice cream. Then, I always made my dad stop to get something to drink about 15 min. later:)

How do i get my girlfriend to stop eating so much ice cream?

i got her a job at a local dariy queen and she gets ice cream just about every night. i try to tell her that it is unhealthy and i feel that she is starting to loose her figure. please help me!?

I ate a piece of cake and one scoop of ice cream. Should I stop eating for the rest of the day?

No. Chalk it up as a “cheat” day & then move on. Excessive guilt leads to overindulgence. Don’t give up on yourself over one little slip!BTW, did you know sugar & caffeine are two of the most addictive drugs out there? Yes…. drugs! Don’t beat yourself up over giving in to them! Just recognize they are two of the most addictive drugs out there… & LEGAL in so many ways!!!identify, conquer…. then move on!Oh…. keep a diary & write down everything you injest. Wear your notebook like a necklace! To do this is an incredible game-changer because it makes you so much more aware…. so long as you are honest with yourself & write everything down! Try it! It really does work so long as you are willing to set denial aside….!BTW, starving yourself to lose weight will backfire. It puts your body in starvation mode & then you start hoarding that fat & calories you are trying to burn! Ideally, you should graze…. 5 to 7 small meals a day. Focus on protein & green veggies….there is so much to learn over & above a simple internet post! Read & enlighten yourself!
