Can You Convince Me Nature Is The Greatest And Wisest Of All Teachers

How do you convince students that math is in nature?

You could easily make a beautiful lesson on the fibonacci sequence in nature. It's everywhere- flowers, pinecones, etc. There is also a really interesting connection between reproductive rates and the Mandelbrot set, which is pretty mind blowing if you understand it.Another point that helped me ‘get it’ when I was young, is to understand that math is perfect. There are no mistakes or accidents, and nothing is ever left out. Use physics to show how you can perform any action and then have numbers describe that action perfectly. This could be simple as timing someone walk across the room, or as complex as dropping a bunch of marbles or shattering an object on the ground. The math is in nature… it describes everything we do.

Can you convince me that high school years are the best years of my life? How?

Mm well I just graduated high school ~3 months ago and I think:High school teaches you that things valued in high school: good looks, being friend to all and etc. doesn’t matter significantly after HS, one should not rely solely on these “traits” to get them closer what they need in real life such as a house, job, or a family like they might’ve had in a school setting. If you realized this instead of being intoxicated by it, congrats, you learned -what I think- is one of the most valuable lessons from high school: Improve yourself (more on knowledge and experience than looks, of course look presentable but looks aren’t everything) and broaden your mind instead of doing what LOOKS best or is best for OTHERS to like you.High school is also where most people get their first uh romantic(?) experiences(?). I was pretty cynical towards couples during freshmen year but I grew out of that phase and asked out a couple girls and some of them worked out. Even if you feel like your legs are going to rip off when you even think about asking that girl/guy out, just do it; high school is a great tutorial, if you use it to your advantage, for future relationships. Honestly if I never asked out anyone in High school I don’t know how I would’ve gotten around it in college and later on.High school is the tutorial level for types of people as well: snakes, fakes, and sometimes true friends.High school will be the best years of your life because you will have experienced most of the basic social skills/ticks that would’ve overwhelmed you if experienced later.

A Serious Question for Any Science Teachers in R&S...?

There are NO alternate theories. Creationists use the term theory to mean an idea they like although it is contradicted by evidence and lack any experimental rigor. Why would they call it a theory? Creationists lie.

In general, origin-of-life is not a heavily discussed topic as the science is limited. Evolution is not origin-of-life, but rather, diversification of life. Although Creationists talk about "alternate theories", there are none. There is no science to be discussed in in "Scientific" Creationism / "Intelligent Design". The only reason to discuss them with students is to demonstrate how far indoctrinated fanatics will go to promote flagrant and easily dismissed lies.

In Kitzmiller v. Dover, a Bush-appointed conservative judge fount that evolution is science and that ID was simply repackaged Creationism ans was not science. Further, he recommended a perjury investigation based on the lies of the Creationists who avoided charges purely on a technical grounds. The judge received death threats after.

What is the wisest piece of advice a teacher has ever given you?

I had just started high school. The teacher I am going to talk about is the one whom I owe my foundation of science to.First day to the class and he started with a story about two boys. 8 years down the lane I forgot their names but lets call them Nakul and Rishabh. The story goes something like this. Both of them just like us were starting their high school. First day and Nakul had all the higher level mathematics books, he had completed the basics and was about to start calculus. He had also completed the syllabus for the first term and was talking about the next term with some of the students. Rishabh on the other hand was dumbfounded seeing all of this. He didn't even knew what was in the syllabus but he decided he will complete it eventually one at a time.Fast forward, after the finals Nakul has done all the tough sums(high school exams in my country has options such as you can do any 8 out of 11 sums). Risabh on the other hand has chosen easy sums(comparatively easy).Fast forward again results had been declared. Risabh passed with flying colours. He got 176 out of 200(this is an excellent score). You must be wondering what happened to Nakul. Well he got 110 out of 200.That day my teacher gave us three important advise which I still follow and will follow throughout my life.Never be like Nakul. Never jump into doing everything from the first day. Try to give at least 30% of your time in planning what you are going to do, how you are going to do it, evaluating your strengths and weaknesses very carefully. What distinguishes a better student with a good student is the perfect plan the better student had from the very beginning. Efforts will obviously take you ahead but to be at the top you need to perfectly plan your studies. The second advise was closely related to the first. He told a student with the perfect plan will be at the top with a comparatively less effort than the other students who doesn't plan their studies. The third advise he gave was that it doesn't matters you do hard sums or easy sums during your exams. What matters is the marks. So if you have an option where both questions have same weightage, you know both of them, go for the easier one. It will lower your chances of doing mistakes as you can devote more time to it. Also it will yield the same marks. At the end what matters are marks. Thanks for reading!

Who is the best teacher in this world?

My Chemistry teacher is the best teacher in the world.Three years back, I was studying 10th . I worked so hard from the day one. Till this I hardly wished for twice for my own benefit. From childhood, I have the habit of trying to fulfill other's wish especially my mom. I gave my best in each and every test and wrote every exam as my final exam. I topped my class always. My marks were awesome. Everybody in my school thought that I will be a State topper including my family, friends, relatives ,etc. As I was very well prepared, I kept quiet and said, "If Allah wills".After a few months, I felt being pressurized. My friends become sure that I will be the school topper. Day by day, pressure increased. I started to work harder. I sacrificed my sleep ,free time, entertainment, enjoyment four months before my exam. My only motto behind this hard work was "Never break anybody's trust".As my exam date came near, I became worried. I felt something wrong. But, I know every page from my book. I understood every concept. My family and school started to believe that I will definitely be a State topper . Expectations increased. Even my juniors started expecting. Even though I know even the page number in which each and every topic is present, I was not confident. At last, I gave my best in my public exam. On 23-5-14 , my results came. I was so shocked to see my marks. I could not believe my eyes. I got just 94% . I was neither a state topper nor a school. I felt very embarrassing. This was the least mark in my year's record. I kept on crying. Many teachers and heads called me and tried to convince me. Many started to doubt whether I really did my exams well or not. This intensified my pain. Some started taunting me and some started calling me a liar. But I never told them that I will top the school. They expected. I did not promise. I just did my job.On the investiture ceremony, I was made Violets' Vice Captain of the school and class captain. But I knew it because I was an all-rounder. On that day my principal distributed cash prizes to the toppers. But I was sad because I was not topper. I kept quiet and pretended to be normal. But to my surprise, my chemistry teacher called me out in front of everyone called me out and gave me cash prize from her salary. Fom the mob, she noticed my sadness. She is the best.

Who is the wisest character in Harry Potter?

Apart from Dumbledore, because it’s too obvious. It’s not Voldemort either. Someone who doesn’t understand the concept of love can never be near wise.I’m going with Minerva McGonagall here.Mcgonagall played many roles in the story of Harry Potter. She was a mother, a teacher, a great friend, a wife.. and many more. There are countless facts on McGonagall being one of the wisest in Hogwarts. She lost 2 lovers. Once she was in love with a muggle, but could not take the relationship further because she was passionate about her job, and that would eliminate her dreams. For many years she was still feeling bonded to him, for that reason she turned down many offers. Later on she married with a wizard who was proposing to her for years. They bought a cute small cottage in Hogsmeade. They lived 3 years happily together, then her husband died, caused by a venom. Losing the ones you care, makes you wiser. She cares like a mother. She sat and spied on Dursleys all day, in a cat form.. to make sure Harry would be in safe hands.. while there were countless celebrations were going on everywhere in the wizarding world, celebrating Voldemort’s “death”.“How did you know it was me?” she asked.“My dear Professor, I’ve never seen a cat sit so stiffly.”“You’d be stiff if you’d been sitting on a brick wall all day,” said Professor McGonagall.“All day? When you could have been celebrating? I must have passed a dozen feasts and parties on my way here.”Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s StoneShe’s extremely talented & clever when it comes to being a wizard.Sorting Hat had hard time choosing her house, between Ravenclaw and Gryffindor. Which means she’s clever and brave. She recovered from four stunning spells aimed at her by Umbridge and some aurors despite being hospitalised due to her injuries, which would have been fatal for many wizards. She was able to duel with Voldemort (even though she had help). She nailed the Battle of Hogwarts.‘Get back!’ shouted Ron, and he, Harry and Hermione flattened themselves against a door as a herd of galloping desks thundered past, shepherded by a sprinting Professor McGonagall. She appeared not to notice them: her hair had come down and there was a gash on her cheek. As she turned the corner, they heard her scream: ‘CHARGE!’Harry Potter and the Deathly HallowsShe’s the ideal wizard grandma we all wanted to have.

Wisdom: What is the wisest advice that you have heard and who was it from?

The "wisest advice" changes as you change. There is no one size fits all. It is like asking what is the most beautiful song. The answer will change very quickly as you change. There is no harmony that is perfect in all situations, and there is no wisdom that is perfect in all situations. My personal answer. I like poetry and music, so at one time it was "Imagine" by the Beatles. Another it was "Illusions: Adventures of a reluctant Messiah" by Richard Bach. Another was the litany against fear by Frank Herbert"I must not fear.Fear is the mind-killer.Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.I will face my fear.I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.Where the fear has gone there will be nothing......Only I will remain." Another time it was the works of Kahlil Gibran. There are a thousand answers.Wisdom is an internal answer. Other people can tell you about the path that they took, but you must find your own path and answers.
