Can You Give Feedback On My Mg/ya Middle Grade / Young Adult Fantasy Action Adventure Novel

Is most young adult or middle grade fiction written in the first person in the present tense?

Most YA is written first person past-- though it's become sort of trendy to write in present tense. I personally think present tense is distracting unless done VERY well. There are some excellent YA contemps that are third person. I think of Maggie Stiefvater's Raven Boys series, Laini Taylor's Daughter of Smoke & Bone series, Neal Shusterman's Unwind series. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak is an interesting hybrid. It is narrated first-person by Death, but since the book is about other characters, most of the novel feels third-person.Many of my favorites (Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta, The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater [dual first-person]) are first-person. My first book Truest, coming out in September, is first-person, but my next novel Work in Progress is in third. I wanted to try something different and stretch myself!
