Now that Trump is in power, are liberals more receptive to states' rights and reduced federal power?

Back in the early 1980’s, as a result of pressure from the insurance lobby, the US Congress passed a highway spending bill that stipulated in order for a state to receive any of that money, it had to pass a seat belt law requiring all drivers to wear a seatbelt while driving a car. Guess how many states protested? Guess how many states were angered that their rights were being trampled upon by an intrusive federal government? If you said 0 then you would be correct.States only get upset when they are opposite if the party in power. The Federal Government is not over stretching its power, it is the political parties that are over stretching their power. Since the 1980’s Republicans have been gaining more and more control over state government. During G.H.W. Bush’s presidency, Congress was controlled by Republicans but there was no cries for states rights then. Democrats in Congress got the first 2 years of the Obama Presidency then lost to the Republicans for the last 6.Since Obama remained in office and because Republicans had taken a commanding lead of state governments, Republicans in Congress began obstructing Obama’s efforts and soon states began doing the same thing by filing lawsuit after lawsuit. That was when you heard the cry for states’ rights.Right now, 27 states which are mostly controlled by Republicans have mechanisms in place to call for a Constitutional Convention only 34 states are needed to call for the convention and 38 states are needed to ratify any amendments. Once 34 states agree to a convention, all bets are off. The convention could do anything it wanted including writing a new constitution.Over the last 30 years, Republicans have gerrymandered Congressional and state districts so much that Republicans have guaranteed their dominance at both the state and federal levels for the foreseeable future. States don’t need more rights, citizens do.

Is there a justification for the US to engage in unilateral rather than multilateral military action overseas?

please help me i don t know what this even means.. could you at least explain what unilateral and multilateral military action is?

One could argue that since the beginning of the 1980s, the United States has become increasingly influenced by international events and their effects on international diplomacy. The ending of the Cold War, retaining a position as the remaining superpower, and the beginnings of a worldwide war on terror have been important to any study of contemporary US history.

When President George W. Bush ordered the invasion of Iraq to overthrow Saddam Hussein in 2003, he took a unilateral military action. His stated purpose was to increase US national security. Presidents Clinton and Obama favored more multilateral efforts when intervening in countries such as Kosovo and Libya. Is there a justification for the US to engage in unilateral rather than multilateral military action overseas?
