Can You Help Me Identify This Song Here Is An Audiofile

Is there a way to convert an audio file (mp3 or wav) to a MIDI file?

This is a tough problem.  A good analogy is converting speech to texts.  A wav file is pretty much like speech, with all the complexities of sound, and midi is like words on a page, a short hand that captures the essence but lose the details. The task of converting them is much the same. You listen to the different instruments and transcribe them note by note.  It's painstaking, but a skill that is practiced in musical schools called ear training. If it seems impossible, with practice it can be quite doable.  Regardless, it's much easier if you can start with sheet music, then it's like translation between to similar languages. There are several free programs out there that can help.I use 'audacity, to help select little sections of a wav file an listen to them repeatedly.  Also I can isolate the left and right stereo channels and that can help isolate an instrument I want to focus on.MuseScore is software I use to help write the midi/music notation.Downloading a pitch analyzer plug-in for audacity can help you hmm a note back to identify it.Many other free software packages are out there, this link is a highlight of options https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/...Lastly there is a piece of pay software called transcribe from seventh strings that claims to do the whole job.  I've never used it, but regardless I bet you it would only get you so far.A few other tips, look for other versions played by a single instrument, solo's, acoustic, or kareoke.  Again look for sheet music.  Lastly look into learning a bit of music theory regarding and ear training. I've been advising as if a bit of theory was assumed.  So make sure you know the basics! Nothing crazy, but the more you know about theory the easier the task.

How can I find the name of the band or the title of a song when I only understand some words or phrases ?

How can I find the name of the band or the title of a song when I only understand some words or phrases ?
I've already searched on with search engines, in quotations or not, lyrics databases, and sites like amazon etc..I've tried everything ! but I can't find what's the title or the singer !! I'm in despair please help me !!

That's a rock song, during the grunge period, the singer has almost the same voice as Cobain but I'm a big fan of Nirvana and I know that's not Nirvana. And that's not Soudgarden.
I'm french. Here some words I (think) can understand : "....so we can go" "..before the sun's come down" "pick the next one while the lights are on in town" "don't leave the light on" (many times in verse and chorus).

I have a part of this song in a small audio file in my computer (about 1 minute).

Where can I upload my humming and ask for people to identify what song it is?

Dude we have Quora but you can always search these things in google. Anyway 3 Awesome Web Apps to Identify a Song by Humming the Tune will help you to get the song identified. If this doesn't work (because its really hard to maintain a data base of all the songs), you could always search google to find thousands of other sites which will help you..... Best Of Luck for finding your song...........

What is the definition of mental illness?

Help me find the song Bits & Pieces. Please?

Some of the lyrics are

The more that you remember the more your self respect decreases and you can't keep the night before from coming back in bits & pieces.
Jim Stafford sang it

Is there a website to find a song title by uploading a MP3 file?

Don't bother uploading. Use a free song identifier program ("acoustic fingerprint" identifier) to identify MP3 files right on your computer or smartphone. This is much more handy than uploading every file to identify and most of the programs will "fix" file names and update ID3 tag info.

Here is one of the better-known, better-regarded open-source identifier programs:

Alternately, if your PC has a microphone, you can try this (free):

If you have an Android phone, try this (free):

Music Audio Disabled When I Uploaded A Video on Youtube?

I uploaded a video on youtube a couple of days ago but the audio was disabled, so I deleted it, because the audio is what made the video interesting and enjoyable to watch. I created a slideshow of pictures I took (not of me by the way) to a song which fit with the story.

So I was just wondering is there anyway to get around this because I would like to try to upload it again, if not is there any other sites kind of like Youtube that does not disable music audio after uploading.

If it is because of copywriting and Youtube doesn't want to get in trouble with the record company or artist who composed and/or recorded the song, I don't see the big deal as long the person uploading the video puts in the description a thanks to the artist or record company and by saying "I don't own no copywrite to this song", which I did.

No rude comments please, I just want to share this video with the world. I really do think it's good, but it's still not what you expect. It's a secret, if I'm able to upload it somewhere with the audio and all I will post a link to it here so you can see my slideshow music video i'm talking about.

Is there a way to identify an instrumental music track, if neither Shazam nor SoundHound can identify it?

Almost all phones offer a ‘voice recorder’, often built into the phone. So all you need to do is record the song as it is playing, and save it. Then whenever possible, transfer the recording to your computer, and play it back to check if the quality is good enough. Then you have to make sure that ‘Stereo Mix’ is enabled. Basically this allows your computer to record streaming audio. Here’s how to enable stereo mix in Windows 7. Once that’s done, head over tomidomi.com, and click the ‘Click and Sing or Hum’ button. Then you’ll see the usual Flash player warning, click Yes.Now midomi is listening, so play the recorded sound clip and see if midomi is actually recording (you can see the sound level bar move and spikes being created). After some time, the recording will stop, and it will start uploading the recorded clip. And in a few moments, you will be presented with all the details of the song. What’s even better is that this method can also be applied to any other audio being played in your computer. So if you’re on YouTube, watching a video which doesn’t mention the music used in the video, you can just open up midomi in a new window or in a new tab and follow the procedure.
