How to write a non cliche horror story?
for grammar were writing short stories about anything. i'm planning to do a horror one but nothings stuck me so far. i'm thinking having 3 kids look for their dogs in the woods and finding a haunted house... since it cant be too bad since its school. any suggestions on how to make it stand out?
How to write a psychological horror story?
Imagine yourself being in some sort of a horrific story and describe it. It's pretty well how I've written my three books, just putting myself in the position and writing to describe what I would do in situations. My proofreader was telling me that as she was reading some of my descriptions of things going on, that she'd have goosebumps because of how intricate I can write. But you also have to have some damn good descriptive skills and wide vocabulary. I wrote this one scene where the main character (based on myself) was attacked by a homeless guy and he had to kill the guy to survive and live on. So I just imagined myself being attacked and what I would do to survive and live through it. Even acted out the fight scene(s) with a friend so it'd seem more realistic. That's just how I did it... and it works for me. =)

Take a look at this site http://www.wikihow.com/Write-a-Horror-Story It gives you various tips of how to write one :) I write quite a bit myself, and get inspiration and ideas from music. So maybe you can listen to a bit of music. (It may be unlikely though, giving the genre that you are writing for.) You usually do humor? Maybe have a bit of humor at the beginning. It would create a contrasting mood to the horror later on in your story. I hope that I have helped you in some way.. Either way good luck with it :)
I need help writing an introduction to a horror story?
For my english coursework i'm supposed to write a introduction to a story. I want it to be horror themed, but not involving gore and killing, just tension and mystery, but i want to creep the reader so it will probably be supernaturally based :] I just need some ideas for a story line, but it cant be too complicated as i cant get into the story, because im only writing the introduction. If someone could please give me some ideas, or a sentence or two for my introduction, just to get me started i'd be very thankful, Thanks! x
Horror Story Ideas?
i like the classic idea of a bunch of people going to some secluded place and people start getting killed one by one.. one of the killers has to be someone among them but they have no idea who and people keep dying while people rush to find out who it is. sort of like and then there were none and those kind of stories!

i think that you should take people experiences with horror like witnessing murders paranormal experiences people murdering people etc. or research a massacre or something crazy that happened and write about it or make your own story behind it or put your twist on something!!! i like books with gore and suspense so i can go whats going to happen next whats gonna happen next then post it on yahoo and let our community rate it but don't do a horror story to unrealistic then i doubt people would wanna read it!!!!!!!! when u reach an agreement on what you're gonna do u can email it to me and we can discuss it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have to write a Scary Story?
Following the cries, she fought her way through the twisted trees, until she found the source of the haunted wails. Before her, in a small clearing was a lake. A pain-riddled face with fear-sodden eyes stared up at her, and she was caught. A sallow hand emerged from the water and reached for her. She leant forward and touched the hand with her fingertips. Suddenly, the eyes of the face thinned and the lips curled into a malevolent smile. In one swift movement he tugged the woman into the lake, which engulfed her. If you were to go there now, you’d find the face still there, waiting for the next unfortunate soul to take pity on sorrowful man. Sorry, its double the word count, but you can use it and condense it if you like.
