Can You Honestly Say There Is Not Tyranny In America

Answer Honestly: Do you fear your government?

YES! I am a law-biding citizen, but I don't like the size and power of our federal government. This is only a start...

With the Military Commissions Act of 2006, the president can declare a "state of emergency" and then declare Martial Law and suspend Habeous Corpus.

The government can jail you for life without charges, without a trial, and without a lawyer.

Executive Order #10999 allows the government to take over all modes of transportation.

Executive Order #11000 allows the government to mobilize citizens into work brigades under government supervision.

Executive Order #11921 provides that the president can declare a state of emergency that is not defined, and Congress cannot review the action for six months.

Senate Bill #1873 allows the government to vaccinate you with untested vaccines against your will.

The FDA says that Americans do not have the right to know which foods are genetically modified.

H.R. 1528 requires you to spy on your neighbors, including wearing a wire. Refusal would be punishable by a mandatory prison sentence of two years.

The government claims the power to seize all financial instruments: currency, gold, silver, and everything else if they deem an emergency exists.

The PATRIOT Act permits: Secret searches of your home and office. Secret government wiretaps on your phone, computer and or internet activity. Secret investigation of your bank records, credit cards, and other financial records. Secret investigations of your library and book activities. Secret examination of your medical, travel, and business records. The freezing of funds and assets without prior notice or appeal. The creation of secret "watch lists" that ban those named from air and other travel.

I got this information from the movie "America: Freedom to Fascism". I strongly suggest watching this movie if you havn't already and sharing it with everyone you know!

In the event that the US government does turn tyrannical, how likely is it that those who own guns will actually fight back?

The US government will not turn tyrannical towards the entire population, because it is set up in such a way that it can’t. Even if the president orders the military to do something harsh to all Americans, the military isn’t big enough and Congress holds the purse strings. The response to such an effort would not be with firearms, but with mass protests and rioting, like when Margaret Thatcher tried to impose the poll tax. Even its militarized police couldn’t handle truly mass protests. However, the government has been tyrannical towards minorities in the past, and gun owners did nothing because they were not the ones targeted. The internment of Japanese-American citizens during World War II is Exhibit A.Anybody who is counting on the gun owners to protect their freedom is deluded. It won’t happen. More often than not, the gun owners were supportive of the tyranny.

Guns to protect against government tyranny -- Is it an out of date fantasy?

I'm in a strange position here.

While I believe guns should be legal-I do not believe automatics should be for the reason you stated.

However, neither do I believe any armament the citizenry can attain will match that of the government.

I see handguns as an equalizer. An 80 year old woman can't beat a 20 year old man if he breaks into her house and tries to kill her. But she can easily shoot him.

However, she won't be able to use an automatic weapon either, so guns seem to be the middle ground.

If people hope to solve gun violence by outlawing guns they're sadly mistaken. Murder and violence existed prior to guns and even weapons being invented, so outlawing guns will only disarm law abiding citizens and make it that much harder to protect themselves against those who kept their guns.

If a mugger holds a gun to your head and you've given him your wallet but he still holds it there-do you really think the police will make it there in time?

So my theory is ban automatics because they're not only impractical (there's no actual use for them a citizen could possibly have) and because they're also far more dangerous than handguns.

Should stricter laws be put into place for handguns? Of course they should! Only rifles and handguns in my opinion should be legal.

Guerrilla warfare???

From my fellow Americans?

You DO KNOW you have to have training in it first...right?

It's not as easy as just hiding out and shooting.

Besides, the vast majority of Americans would very quickly submit to an ACTUAL authoritarian structure. They've been psychologically primed for it for a long time now.

Read up on Erich Fromm, Eric Hoffer, Phillip J. Zimbardo and Lt. Col. Dave Grossman to get an idea of what I'm talking about.

If American gun control advocates are being honest when they tell us "no one wants to take your guns", why are they cheering for New Zealand's gun confiscation?

American gun control “advocates” have NEVER “been honest” about “no one wants wants to take your guns”. Never EVER buy that. EVER. The above cheering of NZ caving to gun confiscation and outlawing is a prime example of their belial. That has to be the biggest lie told to the American public in modern times. That a portion of pro gun people buy this bilge water over and over and offer up their God given rights of self defence and their access to certain firearms or magazines to these gun grabbers is just appalling.Once a concession is made to these people (liberals in particular), they then say the law or concession “didn’t go far enough” and they come back for more concessions which if are not caved to, are met with even MORE lies and more rabid demands for the surrender of even more gun rights. We are asked to be “sensible” and cave to their demands. They give up. NOTHING, demand more, and call that “compromise”.They tend to forget. We gun owners remember what they say, and the majority of us aren't fooled.Take the hi capacity magazine issue. First, some states like California and New York caved to ten round limits on their pistols and rifles. Soon after the push was on for a seven round limit and now they are clamoring for even more limits, but noooo, they aren't trying to take your guns!Pishtosh and twaddle children!England and the United Kingdom lost their gun rights the exact same way decades ago and now they want people to turn in their knives, as knife crime is skyrocketing and self defence is largely illegal?! Seriously?!Many states here lost their gun rights by simply believing it was just this or just that.It reminds me of the poem, “The Spider And The Fly” , and has just the same terrifying ending. Fly, was over a period of time was wooed to spider's parlor and “she never came down again”.Never make a deal with the Devil. He will follow you into a revolving door and be waiting outside for you to exit.Do not ever buy this nonsense. A no gun society is what they want and they never give up or quit.Don't doubt me.

Who was the most tyrannical King/Queen of England, and the most tyrranical president of the US?

Re England: the mediaeval kings spring to mind, with each faction or family fighting for the throne and then disposing of opposition to keep them there. Henry VIII was pretty oppressive, and also his daughter Mary Tudor. Later, their power waned as Parliament began to rule instead of the monarch. Today they are merely figureheads.

I don't know about US presidents!

Why does everyone say freedom isn't free.?

Freedom is something that takes place in your mind is it not. I'm just tired of everyone saying that people are fighting for my freedom and the freedom of others. I live my life the way I wish regardless of the cosiquences. I dont brake the laws out of fear of incarcerartion but because they are in line with my own personal morales.

So again why do people say freedom isn't free.
