Can You Keep Multiple Tarantulas In The Same Cage Providing Proper Space

Everything you need to know about Tarantulas?

i small container, 10g or so, you can even go with a plastic cage instead of a glass terrarium to save on expensis. Make sure there is plenty of ventilation in the cage, like make sure the top has wire or mesh with a lot of air flow. Use tree bark for the ground, never sand, sand will irritate your tarantula a lot. Put a small water bowl inside although some tarantulas never do drink from their water bowl and just get hydrated through their juicy krickets. yes next feed your tarantula around 5 crickets a week would be fine, some people feed pinky mice to their tarantulas but i think thats a little wierd, only do this if your tarantula is malnourished and you need a quick way to fatten them up :), then move to crickets. make sure and have a place for the tarantula to hide like a hallow rock or coconut shell. yes make sure your cage has a lid becaue the tarantula can crawl up glass fairly easily :). I would definaty purchase a rose-hair tarantula, they are awesome, also try to purchase one from a past owner, like off of craigslist, that way it will have aready been handled a lot and got used to humans, if you do purchase at a petstore make sure the tarantulas have been handled regularly so that you already buy a "tame" tarantula :). You shouldnt have any problems no getting bitten, the tarantula will usually give you a sign that it doesn't want to be handled before hand before it bites, these signs are lifting up its front legs high in the air in a scary defesive position and also flicking the hairs off of its back/butt withh its hind legs. After purchasing your tarantula give it at least a week to get used to its new surrounding and home before handling, then try to handle you tarantula daily but not for long periods of time so that it stays tame but doesnt get stressed. Hope you have fun with your new pet and good luck!

Mexican red knee tarantulas?

How big is the hatchling? Use a small container and then up the size until the little hatchling is big enough. My fully grown male is in a tank approx 1.5ft x1ft.
Red knee's will bury themselves so only allow about an inch or two of substrate otherwise you will loose it, organic potting soil, moss and vermiculite work well. As for a hide a coconut shell or plant pot on its side half buried will be fine. The tarantula will arrange its surroundings.

Don't leave food with it, give it 3 or 4 crickets to start then wait a few days and give it one or two more. They will stop eating once they are full. Meal worms can be annoying as they hide and bury themselves so personally I wouldn't bother with them.
If its in a room where you are comfortable with the temperature then you shouldn't need a heater as this can dry them out although in winter you can place a heat mat so it covers about 10% of the floor space and have it on a timer so it comes on for a couple of hours at a time when the central heating is off.
Get a plant spray bottle and mist the tank daily, avoiding the spider.
A bottle top will be fine for a water dish while its still small.
If you have a male then the life span is approx 5 to 8 years and he should get to about 5 inches across.
Watch out for the hairs as they will flick them at you and one in the eye is absolutely horrible, believe me, I went blind for 3 days!
Hope this helps

Can a mexican red knee tarantula survive in an air conditioned room?

Why do people always expect answers with so little information? The answer is MAYBE. Is it in a cage, or has it escaped? Can it get a drink? Can it get food? Are there any cats in the room? If it is in a cage I would give it an under tank heat pad.

Tarantula tank condensation, PLEASE answer?

i exploit organic and organic good soil for substrate. a number of mine conceal on a chunk of pipe, damaged flower pot, or in spite of i had mendacity round after I set up the cage. I take the conceal out of the burrowing species cage once they dig their burrow so this is more desirable reachable to perceive uneaten prey. I feed commonly roaches, yet each and every once in a while get crickets for form. in case you opt for to reproduce your own nutrition i suggestions Dubai roaches. they don't stink, can't climb comfortable surfaces or fly, and performance stay beginning (no be perfect for you). I feed my Ts an proper length insect once per week. no longer all tarantulas kick hairs. danger is you receive a rose hair (they do kick). i believe this is new international Ts that kick hairs, and previous international do not. in spite of the indisputable fact that those with out the hairs have a tendency to be very aggressive. i visit carry my red hair and pinktoe. The baboons and cobalt are propose as all get out. i do not furnish a water dish for my T's. those that like humidity get misted a million-2x per week. The others get all the needed water from their nutrition. ensure any feeder insects are gut loaded, butcalciumm and nutrition dusting isunnecessaryy. they fairly a lot suck the juices out and go away the shell so they gained't benifit from it besides

Tarantula care questions!?

Housing - I have a spare 20 gallon tall tank. Should that be good? Do they prefer more or less space?

Substrate/bedding - I don't know what they need. Do they just use any sand, reptile sand, or whatever?

I read that they need heating and humidity in their tank? - what if our power goes out doing winter and there is no way to heat the tank? would he be fine for a week or two at most without the right amount temp.? Also, with humidity. Is it fine to just mist the tank with a spray bottle? If so, how much a day and how much do I mist (2 sprays, one, etc). Also, do I need a lamp?

Feeding - I am not entirely sure what they eat. I know that they eat crickets and stuff like that, but can they eat dried mealworms? I don't feel comfortable feeding live food, but if I HAVE to for the spider's health, would live mealworms be good? How much do I feed, what food do you recommend, etc?

Any other info? I'm sorry it's so long, but I am really interested in these pets and would like to know the correct care for them before I get them.

Thanks!

If i get TWO tarantulas can they live together in the same aquarium ?

you could in no way placed 2 women individuals or a million male and a million woman at the same time, from now on than you could shop 2 adult males at the same time. they're going to combat! you could shop women individuals at the same time, yet you could have 4 or greater to cut back struggling with, and four or greater fish require a very cycled, heated, filtered, 10 gallon or greater aquarium. No fish could ever be expected to stay in a bowl. that's in simple terms animal cruelty. How might you opt for to stay on your bathing room your comprehensive existence, with out working plumbing, or warmth? This puppy shop worker is the two blind to Betta fish, in simple terms attempting to get you to spend extra money, or the two. formerly paying for any puppy, examine each and everything you will get your palms directly to confirm what's needed, what's right, and what you could desire to do to furnish the creature the ideal existence obtainable. I had a burning opt to own a turtle. I examine 3 or 4 books, and desperate i did no longer have the time and funds to furnish it the ideal existence obtainable, so desperate against getting one (even nevertheless I even have had opportunities to undertake purple-eared sliders for unfastened!). that's stated as responsible puppy possession. i'm satisfied you asked this question formerly in simple terms believing what that worker informed you. i might report this worker to his or her supervisor for giving erroneous, probably deadly (for the fish) suggestion. i might choose for to indicate going to a e book shop or library and getting some beginner's books on aquarium preserving, and on Bettas. there is plenty to benefit to be a useful fish "confirm." sturdy luck!

Pink toe tarantula tank size?

I recently purchased a juvenile pink toe tarantula from pet smart and while its still in its critter keeper (it's big enough so that she can grow out of in a few months), I just don't like the look of it aesthetically. I'd rather give my animals a nice home that anyone in my house can look and admire rather than just give them something to live in and not enjoy them as pets.

With that being said, I was looking to get her a permanent home soon, but I am unsure of what size to get. Right now she has a leg span of 2.5" and I've found two terrariums for her, but both at different sizes.

one is the exo terra nano tall terrarium which is 8x8x12 inches or the mini tall that is 12 x 12 x 18 inches.

I know for now she'll do best in the nano for a long time before she grows, but can that be her permanent enclosure? I read many people keep their tarantulas in that as adults, but the total space is over 3.3 gallons and recommended tank size for adult pink toes are 5-10 gallons.

Which one should I get? I don't want to buy a small one and then have to buy a larger one down the road, I want to buy something permanent for her immediately.

Yes and no.Anytime you put your flesh in range of a tarantula, there is a bite risk. As I often tell people, tarantulas are just like cats, but with twice the legs and half the cuteness. Just like some cats will just flip out and nip you for some reason, so too can a tarantula.Be careful trying this with quick tarantulas like Pink Toes. They are very agile and can be up your arm in no time.Do not ever try this with an old world Tarantula. It will become “actively defensive”. They also tend to multi-bite, and they bite first before asking questions. Also, be sure that you are not touching a tarantula with significantly irritating bristles. The tarantula may not bite or even kick at you, but once those bristle get in your skin you will be itchy and potentially develop a rash. Goliaths are notorious for this.Once you’ve done all these things, its safe to test the tarantula first with a soft brush or something to make sure its not already on a hair trigger. If it seems relaxed, you can kind of pet it, though it will likely start moving away. Don’t pester it too much. Don’t pet it down against your own skin or make it feel trapped in any way.In the end, its something you can try but I don’t recommend touching a tarantula any more than is absolutely necessary. Its too easy for either of us (human and tarantula) to hurt the other.
