Can You Make Up A D You Got In High School After You Graduate

How do I graduate high school early?

Take periods before and after school, if they're offered. They're sometimes called zero period or A period classes.

See if your high school has night or weekend adult classes that will count for high school credit.

Ask the school staff if you can take Jr. college classes for high school credit. This will not only get you out of high school faster, but will get you out of college faster, because the credits will count for both. College classes are usually not any harder than high school classes, and you end up spending less time in the classroom than you would for a high school class. A math class that you're in 5 hours a week at the high school might be a 1.5 hour class twice a week at the college.

Take summer school. Most people are taking it for classes they've failed, but you'll be there to get ahead.

There are correspondence classes offered by some universities. BYU is the only one I have experience with. I took a 10th grade English class through them and loved it. You mail in an assignment and get it back with interesting and encouraging notes from your teacher. It was about $100 including the book, but was well worth it. The reading was much more interesting, they dealt in more poetry and the assignments actually made me want to do them. It was the only high school English class I got an A in.

Lastly, make sure your requirements don't overlap. Taking elective classes is fun, but if you take more electives than you need, it's just increasing the time you're sitting in that desk. Many high schools will let college classes count as electives, so you'll get more choices, have more fun and can focus on taking core classes on your high school campus. The JC near my high school had aircraft mechanics courses, flower arrangement, nursing classes, child development classes, business managment classes and pre-law. How rad would it be if you were out of high school at 16 or 17 and were already a sophomore or junior in college. You'd be Ms. Doogie Howser.

Do not be tempted to take open periods unless you are in your very last semester and don't need any more credits or prerequisites.

Using some or all of these methods, you might be able to graduate 4 or even 5 semesters early depending on how much time you spend on classes outside of the regular school day.

Could I still graduate in high school if I got an D in math class on final report card although I got A in other classes? I got accepted by university.

Obviously, receiving a D in Math class is not acceptable, but it’s considered a passing grade and you will graduate. The math will follow you wherever you go until you get it. You need to get it because if you don’t, you will have the same issues in college. A university can take back their acceptance if your G.P.A is below what it was when you initially applied.

Can you graduate high school with a D in a class?

It depends on your school. Even in the same state, different schools will have different rules, and they may be tougher than the state rules. So ask your guidance counselor at school.

Also ask what happens if you retake the class, it works different ways for different schools. At my son's (private) school they are very strict about it, the class must be retaken at the school for the grade is added into the GPA, but does not replace the original grade, both grades are figured into the GPA. So a D and a B would be a C into the GPA. If the student retakes the class elsewhere, the grade is not figured into the GPA, but the transcript is attached to the school's transcript for colleges. Some schools will allow you to take the class elsewhere (like summer school at another school), and may allow you to replace the original grade, so if you got a B the second time, the B alone would go into your GPA. Find out the situation so you know your options.

Look on the websites of the colleges you are interested in attending to see their policies. Some colleges state you can't get a D in a required class, and sometimes a D in an extra not required class might hurt your admission, like if you took AP Calculus BC and got a D, it might count against you.

Good luck!

Do highschool friends matter after we graduate?

Im just wondering like after we graduate do we just all go through our own paths. I mean especially if we are going to collage or university? Do they even matter? Do we really even need them after? Like after highschool will we still hang out with those people or will we make new friends in collage and university and hang with those people instead? How does it work, do we just go through our own paths?

What are my options if i don't graduate highschool?

i am a senior and today i talked with my counselor. she told me that i have no chance of graduating from highschool. she said i have way too many absences and my grades in the past have been bad as well. i told my boyfriend that i can make up for the grade and gain credits by taking night school ,but i just realized that our school does not have anymore night school. and even if i did gain the credits i need, my absences would be held against me. my counselor constantly reminds me of how i probably will not graduate, and even though she comes on a little too strong i know she's right, and she makes me realize i need to do something and start planning my future. my boyfriend has a lot of hope in me, and he tells me that he will do whatever he can to help me and we have decided to get married, but i do not want my burdens on his shoulders for the rest of his life. he will eventually get tired of that and i don't want to be a burden. i need to do this on my own and plan things out, because i didn't realize all of this could affect the people around me as well as f*** up my future, so please give me some advice or information. like some kinda of adult school...or i dont know..just please help me out if you can..and if you want to just tell me how stupid i am for not thinking of this before haha go ahead and do that to..i probably need some criticism to push me harder lol :) thanks

What happens if you fail 1 quarter at high school?

It only counts if you fail the class (the combined 4 quarters) at the end of the year. If you fail only one quarter but do well in the others, you will probably get averaged to a C (or maybe high D). If you did not do well in the other quarters, and you fail the class at the end of the year, you will need to attend night school or summer school to make it up if it is a required class for graduation and is not a class that can be re-taken in a different grade level (ie, Junior vs Sophomore). If it is not a required class, than you can just take the F and it will lower your GPA.

Getting an "F" in High school, affect?

Im a junior in High school who is going to be a senior.

When I got my report card I passed all my classes except for one, i was woundering if that "F" (english class) , not taking summer shoool, will mean not graduating when my senior year is over? *or being able to walk in graduation*

Can you pass high school freshman year with all d's and a b?

For sure that F has to be a D, but I'm not sure if you have to have all C+s... I think you CAN pass freshman year with Ds. Maybe you should have thought about your grades before there was like a month left of school. :P You should ask someone in the office or your counselor if you're not embarrassed about it.

GOOD LUCK!
