Can You Make Your Calf Muscles Shorter

What do I do about tight/ sore calf muscles?

When your calf muscle is tight it means your achilles tendon has tightened up making the whole muscle shorter than it should be to cause the pains you are having. To get rid of the pains you have to free up the achilles tendon on your leg and here's how to do that:
Achilles tendon:
While sitting and your leg on your lap, take both thumbs and place them side by side at about ankle height on the tendon on the back of your leg and apply pressure hard and hold. After 30 seconds slowly raise your toes up as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your foot there for another 30 seconds.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

Does working out on your legs make you shorter?

Working out your legs has nothing to do with the bones...which is what determines your height. The muscles that are being worked in your legs will be more toned and if you build more muscle, you my appear shorter but you don't shrink.

How to make short legs look longer ?

Hey!
I did a study on height and one of the things I learned about was how to make yourself look taller. This works with your legs too- making them look longer.
It would be useful to know how old you are and how tall, because some things just aren't right for everybody!
But anyway a brief answer: Short skirts and mini dresses if you think they look ok. Shorter tops that don't come past your waist. Avoid low rise jeans and pants. Boot cut, drainpipe or skinny jeans (not baggy or flared). Shoes with a heel will change the shape of your leg and add length (but don't think you have to go for really impractical girly ones- maybe wedges?)

Do basketball players cut their calf muscles to jump higher ?

From a strictly biological standpoint, that's just stupid. The muscle is what supplies the power to jump. When you remove muscle, you lose power, simple as that. Not to mention the painful recovery and physical therapy, and a knee that will never be as good as it was. You are very correct, it's total bullshit, call him on it :)
