Can You Offer Some Advice And Guidance On The Situation

What is the difference between guidance and advice and counseling in psychology?

Advice is given once and the result is not to be reviewed.Advice is often unsolicited.

Guidance is bunch of advices. Its ongoing process for some period, to be specific till the Goal is achieved. Guidance would change after each review. Guidance always given only on request.

Counseling is totally different. Its actually explanation of real situation to a person who due to some problem unable to understand macro view of one or many incidences of life.

At times Counselling is considered a "Treatment". However Advice or Guidance are never considered as Treatment.

What is the best advice and guidance I can give for a first time job hunter?

Best advice I can give - remember that “it’s a numbers game and you should not be discouraged by rejection.” Even in a situation where there are very few qualified candidates for a job, the hiring manager will be pressured to identify multiple candidates for the final “short list” to gain some confidence they will be selecting the “best” candidate possible at that time. Automatically, you have less than 50% chance of success in the best of circumstances. Further, there are often many qualified candidates for any position and the deciding factor may be something you cannot control and have nothing to do with the primary job requirements. For example, if two candidates are equally qualified for a position, the deciding factor may be some experience one person has that is missing elsewhere in the company. Both candidates could be expected to do the job, but one has “something else” that is missing in the organization. Something that is not necessarily needed for that job, but something that may provide future benefit. In this way, the job requirements may actually change during the selection process by seeing how individual candidates may fit into the new “organization” if hired. These situations are outside your control, so the best you can do is present yourself as a good fit for the job as described and try to read between the lines to see what additional value you might bring to the organization that may play into the criteria eventually used in the selection.

Ex muslim interested in Buddhism, but I'm in a difficult situation?

1. You may read Buddhist books here :

http://www.sacred-texts.com/bud/index.ht...

But the original lectures of Buddha are here :

http://www.accesstoinsight.org/tipitaka/...

Besides these there is Dhammapada here :

2. The greatest book is your self . You learn to read your self in meditation . Meditation is not a ritual. In meditation you learn to stop your emotions & thoughts and while doing so you will learn what are the difficulties . You may receive divine experiences . The meditation I support is :

http://www.dhamma.org

The purpose of meditation is to know that you are great , you are a shining self within and the meditation helps you to realize it.

3. Not at all. Pursuing a good purpose in secret is no problem . Once a new disciple was very attracted to his past girl friend , Buddha promised him that if he would meditate he would reach heaven where there are much more beautiful girls so as to make him attracted to meditation , it was no lie because he showed him a vision of that heaven. This disciple started meditating hard. But when he reached final enlightenment he saw that he was at a much higher state of universal freedom and so then he left the desire to meet heavenly girls which was a much lower state than enlightenment .

4. No. The only path is meditation and 5 moral principles . But do it as much as you can , do not go to extreme , it is a middle path.

5. It is atheistic . There is no worship required. The least amount of belief is in Theravada system.

6. It is a path of self inquiry. It is like climbing a mountain.

7. Realms are only imaginations for those who have not realized , but if you realize them , its upto you. The idea of realms & rebirth is the experience of Buddha & his disciples . You are free to believe or not as per your liking because truth is based on experience.

8. Do not worry about it. Buddhism says rebirth for the ordinary person . If you meditate hard and achieve higher states , you will experience yourself how to separate yourself from body. You will experience yourself distinct from body . Sometimes you may experience a happy state of coming out of body and then coming back . Then afterwards you will have no fear of death.
