Can You Piece Together This Puzzle

How do I keep a puzzle together?

I just finished this huge 750-piece puzzle, and I was wondering about how to keep the pieces together so that I could hang it up on my wall. I heard that a good method would be to flip it upside down and glue a poster board on the back of the puzzle, so that all the pieces would be attached. I think that flipping the puzzle over without starting over would almost be impossible. What should I do? I also heard that there's a type of glue that you can buy to put on top of the puzzle to make them stick together... but someone said that it can cause the puzzle to curl up... and, obviously, I don't want that. I think that putting it in a frame is inconvenient too... it's a round puzzle, and I think it would be hard to find a frame that is that size.

How to keep a cheap jigsaw puzzle together.?

In addition to double-sided sticky tape, there's also "carpet tape" which is sticky on both sides and wide (and has a backing paper). It comes on a roll at hardware/home improvement stores, etc.

You could also use something that's sticky on one side and adhere it somehow to a piece of cardboard, etc. (whole sheets of clear adhesive sheeting for printing "labels", Contact Paper for lining drawers, etc... even things like sheets of felt sometimes come with one side adhesive and a backing sheet).

There are also sprays and liquids that will "dry" so they're still tacky:
..."repositionable" clear sprays (hardware store, etc) ...also specifically for photos like "Photo Mount"
...a white glue that dries clear but sticky... Aleene's Tack it Over and Over, or just "sizing" glue
...most any permanent white glue (like Elmer's Glue All)... those can be painted onto a stiff background, and when dry will still probably be sticky enough to press things to a bit

You could also use some of that grippy, non-slip, rubbery drawer liner on a roll since it's supposed to keep things from moving around... like this:

For some of those possibilities, you might have to seal the finished puzzle from the *front* first after you're finished with it, if it can't easily be removed from it's sticky backing, and if you want to do that.
After the front dries, remove any of the temporary sticky material and seal the back too.

What puzzle in life did you finally piece together as you matured?

For the majority of my life I wondered why I had been trained (both unintentionally and by choice) in so many seemingly random fields and had skills that did not seem applicable or appreciated on a daily basis. I became resentful of having abilities and “useless” talents that I had no opportunity to use and also being placed in environments surrounded by those who thought them odd or not particularly valuable. It seemed as if the universe was torturing me by sprinkling me with a bunch of above-average qualities that I could not hone to purse a career or benefit directly from i.e. if I was a brilliant athlete I could dedicate my life to becoming a professional athlete. But the skills I had weren’t extraordinary enough to “put food on the table” but just enough so that those around me were not able to relate. To be dramatic- I felt like I was carrying a lot of gifts I could not use, and felt weighed down by them. For example, while I am in no way a linguistic genius, I have the knack of picking up languages easily. When a friend of mine started dating a man in East LA, my Spanish conversational ability increased at a rapid rate just by being in the neighborhood. I was mocked and treated as a weirdo for this. Similarly in school my natural ability to instantaneously come up with innovative and unconventional solutions for problem solving situations were met with comments like, “You must have a lot of time of your hands.”It was not until I became a chiropractor and started seeing patients from all different backgrounds, experiences and walks of life that my random skills became useful. Finally there was a purpose and place to use my abilities in a constructive and creative way that truly benefited the healing progress of others. Being eclectic (for which I was previously persecuted for being odd), having a wide range of interests/random general knowledge and being aware of cultural sensitivities are now assets in my everyday practice. Now I am thankful for the “weirdness” I have cultivated for the last three decades and understand that that idiosyncrasies are not useless. No one knows what will happen tomorrow, let alone in five or fifty years. So continue to embrace and grow the “little” skills you have, even if they seem negligible compared to the geniuses and extraordinarily talented people in the world, and even if no one understands or values them. There will be a time and reason for all the resources you currently have.

What kind of glue can you use to hold a puzzle together?

you can pay a good price for puzzle glue but what i do is buy elmers glue and a small paint brush. the glue dries clear just like puzzle glue. Make sure you get every single piece covered with glue.and the brush is washable

Would anyone pay to have a puzzle they really like put together and glued, so it could later be framed?

I am looking to maybe start a little side business where I would put together puzzles for people and then glue them so they can hang them on their wall or get them framed, but I am not sure how successful that would be. I am really good at puzzles and know there are a million beautiful puzzles out there that might not get put together because people don't have the time. Any comments/suggestions?

Best way to glue a puzzle together for framing?

We did a number of these....you put it together....carefully turn it over to the back and glue the back of it by brushing the glue over all the places it is put together, then let it dry. I think most any glue would work, but I would use tacky white glue or elmer's glue that dries clear.

The trick is in turning it over intact....put it together on a stiff board and cover it with a stiff board then carefully turn over....holding it together tightly....then brush on the glue and let dry....you could also coat the front with a clear finish to help keep it intact.

Why do they use puzzle pieces to represent autism?

I believe it represents multiple things. Autism is still a medical puzzle. There are so many known and unknown factors that contribute to a person having autism. Also, perhaps the autistic person's life is a puzzle to themselves. Their perception of the world has been greatly altered, so with each day, they are trying to put all the pieces together. Great question; thanks for sharing.
