Can You Play Wii U Games On The Wii Like Zelda Because I Don

Can the Wii console play Wii U games?

The Wii is backwards compatible with Gamecube, not forwards compatible with Wii U games. The hardware for the Wii is worse than the Wii U's I imagine, meaning that if you could run them, they would run poorly, and the Wii U costs around $300, you could probably buy the Wii for half that price, which gives you two more reasons as to why it'd be weird for it to play Wii U games, 1. Why on earth would you buy a Wii U? A Wii would be much cheaper, and 2. Why on earth would they make the Wii U? The Wii would already be able to play games for the Wii U. It can't play Wii U games, if the gramophone could play CD discs, a lot of people would get the gramophone because it looks cool, but it can't, so no one owns one.

Can you play Wii U games on the Wii?

Nope, most likely not... WiiU games are going to be in HD, Wii doesnt support that

Which Legend of Zelda games are worth playing?

Ok So I beat Legend of Zelda Windwaker for the Wii U and I want to play more of their games. But which ones, I've also finished halfway through Ocarina of Time 3D and I'm so far impressed on the gameplay and the story for the game. I have 3DS, Wii, Wii U (and all games are pretty much available in the online store so I won't mind buying it.) So I cannot get twilight princess.

What Zelda game should I start with? I haven't played the series, but my friends keep on talking about 'Breath of the Wild.'

From what I’ve seen and heard, Breath of the Wild is a pretty big departure from the formula and gameplay of previous Zelda titles (haven’t played it myself yet). And for the most part, the games also don’t have direct story connections to one another. If Breath of the Wild seems appealing and you just want to play that, go for it, just don’t expect the other games to be exactly like it if you play them after. Most of the other games are worth playing though. Not necessarily all of them - there’s some 19 main series games, as well as several spin-offs - but most of them are great. There’s generally three kinds of Zelda games out there - the classic top-down 2D style, the 3D style, and the co-op ones. I’ll sort all the main series titles into these categories, then I’ll mark in italics which ones I think are the bests.Top-Down 2D:The Legend of Zelda, A Link to the Past, Link’s Awakening, Oracle of Seasons, Oracle of Ages, The Minish Cap, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, A Link Between Worlds3D:Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Skyward SwordCo-Op:Four Swords, Four Swords Adventures, Tri Force Heroes(FSA and TFH are both great games but are not worth playing alone, and very hard to assemble a group to play with. FSA requires a gamecube, the game, four GBAs, and four link cables - expensive back in the day, even more expensive now.)Oddball:Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link———I would start with A Link to the Past for the 2D games, then Ocarina of Time for the 3D games. Neither of these are the best of their respective type of Zelda game, but the are the most… standard. They’re also some of the most historically significant video games ever made. I hope that doesn’t make them sound boring - they are genuinely great games. Have fun with them!

What will happen to the Legend of Zelda Wii U games with the discontinuation of the console? I really want to play them, but I don't have the money.

There are currently 3 main Zelda games and one Spinoff on the Wii U. You can probably get them all in the e-shop and use something like an external USB hard drive if you need some extra space.Zelda - Windwaker HDExcellent remastering, sort of old game altought.Zelda - Twilight princess.Good remastering but this one have not aged as well as Windwaker have. Still looks pretty good and especially when played on the gameplad. Same here, pretty old game.Zelda - Breath of the WildWould recommend playing this one on the Switch as you will have higher resolution, better lighting effects etc.Zelda - Hurule Warriors (Spinoff)Great game that will keep you entertained for a very long time, might get ported to the Switch eventually.

Best way to purchase/play all Legend of Zelda Games?

I was a huge Zelda fan when I was a kid. Now, I want to play and beat every Zelda game just for fun. Here are the games I own and do not own.

OWN:
-Ocarina of Time
-Majora's Mask
-Twilight Princess
-A Link To The Past
-Oracle of Ages/Seasons (might not work)
-Adventure of Link
-The Legend of Zelda

DO NOT OWN:
-Wind Waker
-Four Swords Adventure
-Minish Cap
-Link's Awakening
-Phantom Hourglass
-Spirit Tracks
-Skyward Sword
-A Link Between Worlds
-Triforce Heroes
-Breath of the Wild

What is the best way to purchase the games I do not own in order to save money? I don't have my Gameboy anymore but, I want to be able to own all these games somehow without buying a separate system just for one game.

Can I download Wii games and put them on an SD card to play them?

Okami is still to big after scrubbed to fit on a Wii SD Card, and what Zelda exactly do u wanna play?

Edit: @Bob Stepenheimer, Okami was ported to the Wii yrs ago after the Wii was released & the Wii Emuator is Dolphin (to play Wii games, i think Wii64 is to play N64 games)

u can c how to play games from SD card (better if u use an external HDD tho) on Wii if u utube it, and u can also c how to play Wii games on ur PC through Dolphin if u utube that was well.

Can I play Wii games without moving the controller?

Is it possible to just play Wii games using the controller like a GameCube controller? I would rather just sit and play, then have to direct every move myself by having to move with it. I know I may sound lazy, but when I play, its more a relaxing thing for me and I just want to sit on the couch and play the game like normal.

Is the Wii U worth buying in 2019 for older Zelda games? I want to play certain games on it like Ocarina of Time and Skyward Sword and Wind Waker but I'm not totally sure about it. I have the money to spend but is it a smart purchase?

If it makes you happy? It’s a smart purchase. Currently, OOT, WW and SS are not out for the Switch. It could be a long time until they are, or it could be never. The Legend of Zelda game series are my absolute favorite. I have played all of the games you mentioned on the Wii or Wii U along with Twilight Princess and Breath of the Wild. However I played Ocarina of Time on a 3DS XL.I have a Wii, a Wii U and a Switch. Was I happy to buy another console at the time? Not initially. Am I glad to have these consoles and games still? Absolutely. I replay these games every once in a while and thoroughly enjoy playing them again and again when I’m in the mood.As parents we knew we were getting the switch at Christmas time, but had not purchased it before Breath of the Wild came out. I now have a copy of each, recently purchasing a used BOTW for the switch just so I can see how different it is, because I was curious. I don’t regret it.I also had a double copy of TP, which I recently sold the Wii copy, because my husband got a copy for the Wii U, and I made a decent buck. Most of my other Wii games are compatible on the Wii U so I won’t sell any of those. But I will hold on to that Old Wii. We still have a console from the 80’s intact. My answer is that if you enjoy it, then it was a good purchase. You can always sell it for a relatively good coin if you decide. My recommendation would be to find a used one in good working condition if you don’t want to invest too much money or perhaps save some for the Switch as well.
