People would rent and wound up with no funds on the card after the rental, and often times, we would end up with no car. Now that my company put a stop to that and requires credit cards only, we get ours regardless. Keep in mind: you are trying to get a $20,000+ investment from someone to do as your are pleased. The rental company is going to take every precaution to make sure they get their investment back, and in one piece.

So I'm a last minute person and am looking to book a hotel room in Manhattan online and I need to do it in a few hours. I do not have a credit or debit card. I just went to walmart and put money on one of the walmart visa debit cards. Seeing as though the card has a number and is VISA I see no reason why it would not be accepted to book the room. However, since the card was just bought it's a temporary. It has no name and address. Assuming I can hold the room with the card, will I have any problems when I am at the counter? I mean I have a valid of age ID but will the number and the sufficient funds on the card be enough? Thankyou.
