Can You Say A Word Related To Your Above Answer .

How do you say the word "mainly" in french?

principalement

If you could only say one word of your choosing for the rest of your life. What word would it be?

“Beep.”Why? First, let me bring up the “use / mention” distinction. Most of the time, we use words. Using words is when you say the word and you want the listener/reader to ascribe that word’s meaning to it. In the sentence “I like chess,” I’m using the word chess. I want you, the reader, to think about the game played on an 8 x 8 board with various pieces.Mentioning a word involves a discussion the word itself… the sounds, the letters, etc. If I say “’Chess’ has five letters,” then I’m mentioning chess. In written communication, the distinction is pretty easy to navigate… we use quotes when we mention a word, and omit them when we use it. But it’s not so easy in spoken communication. If I only was allowed to say one word for the rest of my life, I certainly wouldn’t be using the word in the sense above. I wouldn’t exactly be mentioning it either, but that would be closer to what my intent would be. The word will come to serve as my basic building block of communication, which will probably involve some kind of binary or morse code scenario. So I’d want the word to make it clear that it’s never being used, and instead serves this strange nonstandard role.“Beep” does that job. There are very few times when someone otherwise needs to say “beep.” Moreover, if someone came up to you and just said “beep beep beeeeeeep beep beep,” your first thought would be that they’re a lunatic. But your second thought would be that they are trying to communicate in some kind of morse code. I’m happy enough to get that thought into the top 3. :)

How do YOU say the word houmus?

Hello Ms Vera Zoey ~
Well actually there are quite a few correct pronounciations here's the run down.

Hummus (also spelled hamos, houmous, hommos, hommus, hummos, hummous or humus; see romanization of Arabic) is a dip or spread made from cooked, mashed chickpeas, blended with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and garlic. Hummus is a popular food in various local forms throughout the Middle Eastern world.[1]

Etymology
The word comes from Arabic حمّص ḥummuṣ[2] 'chickpeas'. Like other Arabic loanwords, its spelling in English is unstable.[2] The earliest known use of the word hummus in English noted by the Oxford English Dictionary (OED) was in 1955.[3] The three most common spellings for the word as transliterated into English are hummus, hommos and hoummos. The spelling humus is avoided in English due to its similarity to the English word humus, though this is the most common Turkish spelling[2] and the OED indicates the word entered the English language from Turkish.[3] The full Arabic name of the prepared spread is حُمُّص بطحينة (ḥummuṣ bi ṭaḥīna) which means chickpeas with tahina.

Grammar question: Can you say "I put my family above everything else"?

Hello,
I know that you can say you "put someone above anything else", and you "put someone before anyone else". In other words, sentences number one and two below make sense and are grammatically correct.
1. I put my family above anything else.
2. I put my family before anything else.
My question is can you use the word "everything”instead of "anything”? In other words, do sentences number three and four make sense and are they grammatically correct?
3. I put my family above everything else.
4. I put my family before everything else.

Can you say a sentence that uses every letter in the alphabet atleast once?

The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dogs.
