Can You Scive A Day Off Work

Should everyone get a day off from work for their birthday?

Well, Josh this is a great question, but I'm not quite sure I will be able to give you an unbiased answer. Why ? Because I love birthdays ! LOLHonestly, I do think you should be able to take the day off work on your birthday. Infact, I think you should get a days pay also.I think of birthdays differently than most people though.I believe that your birthday is your special day. The day to celebrate the time that you took your first breath of life and began your journey into this world. You're birthday is the one day out of a whole year, that you can call your own.So, I think sure, if you don't want to go into work, you're employer should say sure no problem, no worries we got you covered birthday boy. There should be some unwritten rule or non spoken law that when it is your day, your birthday, you or anyone else that is having a birthday, kind of gets special treatment. But, this is only my opinion and I'm sure there are alot of people out there that will argue “It's just another day” But I disagree. So, when it comes to your day Josh, HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!I hope I helped.

If you requested a day off from work and you don't show up can they fire you?

You ask an incomplete question. You missed on important point (which I'm guessing you are trying to avoid). Was the day off approved? So, which of these questions are you really trying to ask?If you requested a day off (and received approval) from work and you don't show up can they fire you?If you requested a day off (but didn't receive approval) from work and you don't show up can they fire you?You may not want to ask the question clearly because you do not want to hear the answer. The answer to number 1 is Yes, they can fire you, but not for taking an approved day off.The answer to number 2 is Yes, they can fire you for taking a day off without approval. You do not provide any other information like whether you have an employment contract or what the company policies are related to absence. But you really already know the answer, don't you...

If my boss gave me only one day off per week at work, would that be good or bad for my personal agenda?

I am not sure if you like to work 6 days for Office and Client. - But if you are getting paid per hour it will be good, you will earn more money.- But the sad part is like even you have money, you will be having only one day to spend with family, friends and doing administrative work. - If you enjoy your work then its different story. I saw many people like with work on Saturday and Sunday as well. It depends upon you. If its compulsory only look at the positive part. And If by choice then dude enjoy 2 days without work. You deserve two days for yourself.

Excuses for skiving off work?

Does anybody have a good illness or family crisis I can use to skive off work - except for toothace, migraine and sickness & diarrheoa as I have exhausted those.

How can I skive off school tomorrow?

rub your eyes massivly and make them blood shot, and grib your stomach ache really hard. Say that you think you have food poisoning.

That's what I always use. Because food poisoning doesn't have a fever. Every now and then get up and book it to the bathroom. Like jog...say that you have the runs. It works. Good luck, and next time figure out what to do so that you don't have to skip school.

Also, make your voice kinda shakey.

Have a good day.

Is it necessary to take a day off from work after a colonoscopy?

Schedule it on a Friday if you can, and solve the problem that way.I thought I was fine after mine, but my friend said I was a bit drunk-like. That’s why they don’t want you driving. People who have had anesthesia are not the best judges of their own limits.I recall having a normal Saturday, but I think I slept pretty hard and I wouldn’t have wanted to wake up to an alarm clock. And when all is said and done, remember that not getting a colonoscopy when you should have one can lead to needing many many more.

Is it appropriate to take the day off work if a pet dies?

Losing a pet is losing a family member. However, this is something someone who has never had a pet will not be able to relate to. Appropriate? This is very subjective and depends on the type of organization you work for, is your supervisor a pet lover or not, your relationship with the supervisor... It also depends on your level of conformity with the 'appropriate'.Should you take the day off regardless of whether it's appropriate or not?Yes. It might be to take care of arrangements or to reflect on your time spent together. You probably want to meet friends or family so you're not dealing with the grief by yourself. I currently live 8000 miles from my parents, but when the pet I grew up with passed, I took a week off from my then new job to be with my parents and celebrate the memory of a life well lived. There are a few events like this in one's lifetime. More than anyone else's approval or regard for appropriateness, you need to be at peace with yourself when you think back to your decision. You might have challenges which prevent you, but weigh them against how future you would think about them in retrospect.  Getting the time offOnce you have decided to take the time off, be focused in your communication with your supervisor:Focus on 'how' you can take the day off, rather than 'if'. Start the conversation with something like "I need to take the day off. Could I use my Personal Time off for it or do I need to use a vacation day?" Emphasize the impact, the grief you're going through, rather than what caused it (unless you have a great relationship with your supervisor or you know they love their pets). Hope you don't need to use this answer for a long time, but if you do, I hope it helps.

Is it correct to say to my boss, "Could you please give me this day off?”

It’s correct in grammar. But the tone is not quite that suitable — it doesn’t have the right ‘feel.’ It sounds a bit insistent and impatient (because of the ‘please’ in the middle). In English, it is generally better to put the ‘please’ in the front or the back — ‘please’ in the middle especially in British English signify impatience:—“Could you please don’t enter the conference room right now while the meeting is going on?!”Perhaps it’s better to rephrase it either as a statement or tone the question down:—“I would like to have this day off if that’s possible, please.”“Can I have this day off, please?”“Can you let me have this day off, please?”The trick in asking questions is to keep the main ‘question’ together, and then add in the ‘please’ at the front or the back as a request or query.“Please, Sir, can I have some more?” (Charles Dickens, Oliver Twist)

I will take a day off tomorrow, due to some personal work. Is this correct?

Ask your manager.
