What do you think of my first poem (in the comments)?

Don’t ever ask others about your first things. Don’t try to analyse them. Just write a next one and a next one till prisons and sun bursts turn into carrots and toy cars, and your head is spinning in a candy floss taste of happiness. Your creative child does not need others even most constructive critism! Let it play instead and you will know when you have poems sticking their toungues at you from everywhere that you - just you - are an amazing creative and natural poet.

I wish I could write all of them but for the time being, I'd present the important and my dearest ones. Re-read that. I'm not presenting the best ones that I've written because there are some issues I want to address.Colorsdon't ask me toapologize for thewrong I didn't do ;I just fabricated youon my canvas, with shades ofred and blackblending smoothly.not that it'snot gorgeous, but a thousand timesless painful thanthe pain youcaused me.colors aren't supposed tobe bright, do they?you tell, for you've stolen mybright ones.the color of my bloodis darker than this shadeand the darkness yourlies brought,is deeper than theblind black.i'll raise my voice forget you not,not a single slap, have I forgot.~ victim of child abuseif you're a victim reading this,I BEG YOU. Please go and tell your parents. If they themselves abuse you, go and talk to a responsible and children friendly teacher in school or a school counselor. Or some well educated neighbor (I'm not saying that it's the best critera to judge someone as helpful in this case.) Just go and talk to a person who you think can understand you. Their are child helpline institutions and helplines out there. Don't feel shameful, it's not your fault. If you don't stand up now, you'll miss out the brighter life, you'll support a abuser further. Please seek help.P.S - I'm not the new Rupi Kaur [please get the pun ] This has been written in such format to show how the strength is breaking initially…and then I've put the last two lines with more number of words to show development of strength. I have written a poem. Please comment. Thank you.

Dear friend,

Gaudery- Cheap or pretentious or vain display.

Did you really mean to use this word?

I think that you have tried to hard in this sonnet, though your intention to copy Shakespeare's style was admirable there is a lot of revision required for this reader to accept it as you intended. It seems to loose itself in far to many flowery words and phrases.

Would you comment on this old poem, written by a slave?

Yes that is a very strong poem. I like it a lot. Another one is phenomenal woman by Maya Angelou.

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman

Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Where are some good places online to share my poems and get feedback?

Really good news! There are a lot of really good places to post online. These are just a few of the biggest ones I’ve come across. I’ve used most of them so I’ll include some details about each one with it.Commaful: Beautiful Short Stories At Your Fingertips : A very casual and nice place to share poetry. The people there are very nice and give feedback and words of encouragement. I haven’t seen any negativity here and it’s a great place to build an audience without facing hate.Hello Poetry : I really liked the size and scope of this site. There are all types of poems on this site. A very good collection and easy way to go through and share your poems. I also love that they put classics out there so if you want to read the classics they’re there for you.The World's Largest Poetry Site : They claim they’re the largest poetry site. I don’t like the layout of the site as much, but can’t argue with the library. There’s a lot of contests, award winning poets, and groups that you can participate in. Can be a bit intimidating and I did run into some eh people.Wattpad - Stories You'll Love : The poetry section here is sadly small, but does exist. Very amateur, but is a nice place to share overall.Medium – Read, write and share stories that matter : I think the poetry section is increasing. It’s not the most well known place for poetry, but there are a few popular-ish publications dedicated to poetry here. Overall not a bad place to post poems.Sign up | Tumblr ; use the hashtags #poetsontumblr to find and reach more poets. The feedback isn’t as much here, but there is a nice community.I’ve tried a bunch more, but from personal experience, these were the ones I liked the best. In each case, you’ll need to engage with other people to get the flywheel spinning for feedback

Would you like to comment on the Master's Spring Giddiness?

Rumi is, I understand, the most read poet in the world. A favorite of mine is below. Hafiz is also great.

WOMAN

If you rule your wife outwardly, yet inwardly you are
ruled by her whom you desire,

This is characteristic of Man: in other animals love is
lacking, and that shows their inferiority.

The Prophet said that woman prevails over the wise, while
ignorant men prevail over her; for in them the fierceness
of the animal is immanent.

Love and tenderness are human qualities, anger and lust
are animal qualities.

Woman is a ray of God: she is not the earthly beloved.
She is creative: you might say she is not created. (*)

(*) Sweeping aside the veil of form, the poet beholds in woman
the eternal Beauty, the inspirer and object of all love,
and regards her, in her essential nature, as the medium
through which that Beauty reveals itself and exercises
creative activity.

Ibnu'l-'Arabi went so far as to say that the most perfect
vision of God is enjoyed by those who contemplate Him in
woman.
