Can i break and use a vitamin A capsule on my skin?
Actually, I would give the caveat that you CAN but you probably don't want to. Vitamin A that's typically in a softgel is Beta Carotene and it has a very deep color (usually orange or red... it's one part of what makes a carrot orange, after all) so putting it on your skin will dye your skin that color, making it deeper the more you use it. If you get a purified Vitamin A that's from fish liver oil and doesn't have any coloring agents (eg. carob), then it wouldn't be as bad, but those are hard to find. Some Vitamin A and Vitamin E products have other ingredients added to the pill so you'd want to make sure that it doesn't have any other ingredients (aside from gelatin, glycerine, and water, which is what makes up the outer coating of the softgel) before applying it anywhere near your eye. The main part about hair benefits would be if you took A or E internally (as they help moisturize the skin internally, which includes the hair folicles)... if you use it topically, you wouldn't get it as close to where you would want it to go for your hair and I would really only use it for topical skin health like helping to heal a scar or stretch mark while you're breaking it up. The reason it can be bad for your hair is primarily if you take too much or use the wrong typr... dl-alpha tocopherol (note the "dl" instead of "d") is the synthetic form of Vitamin E that's been shown to be bad for heart, skin (which also can impact hair) among other things. That and overdoing Vitamin E is where the negative reports come from in regards to hair loss. Good luck and I hope I helped!

So there are people who use vitamin E as a daily routine to massage into wrinkled areas in order to lessen wrinkles. Rub vitamin E capsules on your skin?
Whenever i would get hurt when i was little or i had a scar, my mom would break a vitamin e capsule and rub it on my scrape/scar. she said it was really good for your skin. then on my face wash i noticed it said "with vitamin E". so, theoretically, would it be good for your skin to break vitamin e capsules and rub it on your face if you had a pimple or something?
