Canceling Debit Card Amazon

I ordered something on Amazon and I cancelled before it got dispatched, will I be refunded and how long might it take?

Amazon only charges you when the order is shipped. That means that if you cancelled the order before it was shipped, then you wouldn’t have been charged yet and so there is no need to refund you.If you notice what looks like a charge on your credit card account then that is usually just a bank authorization, not an actual charge. In other words when you place the order Amazon informs your bank that you’ve placed an order for a certain amount and then your bank reserves that amount (or sometimes just a token amount) until Amazon is ready to charge you (when the order is shipped). At this point the money hasn’t left your account yet. But, since the order was cancelled before it shipped, Amazon won’t charge your card and eventually your bank will simply reverse the authorization and the amount will be available to you again. How long it takes to reverse an authorization varies from bank to bank, but it’s usually no longer that 5 days.

Amazon.com won't take my debit card, What should I do?

You should consider calling Amazon support (if they have any), and see you if you can purchase the items via the telephone. By doing so, they should be able to tell you exactly why it is being rejected.

Have you tried to purchase items online before?

You may want to call the bank and confirm that the address and name you are giving them online is valid. In order to avoid fraud, online ecommerce require the address and name to be exactly the same as on the account.

Amazon Debit card declined?

I would contact Amazon Customer Service. If the bank says you are clear to go it may be something on their end that they can easily fix.

When we have cancelled the order on Amazon, how long will it take for the refund to be initiated, provided that we paid using a debit card?

Thanks for the QuestionI work as a merchant account consultant . My job is to help Merchants in getting the best available low and High Risk Merchant Accounts. My job requires me to keep an overview of the refund process. In terms of AmazonThe Instant Refund is issued in most of the cases . But to reflect that refund on your Credit /Debit Card Statement you may have to wait for a max of 30 Days.If Amazon says the refund has been initiated .In that case be rest assured that it is almost next to impossible that you will not get your money back. They are a very professional global organisation and the value the relation with there esteemed customers.Hope this helps.Best WishesBankim Chandra

If I cancel my debit card, will it cancel my subscriptions as well?

Yes all payments that are normally made through the debit card will fail. If you have payments by direct debit these will continue.

Normally the payment will fail, you will be contacted to update your details. If the payment subsequently fails again, subscriptions would be cancelled. However each company operates under their own terms and conditions and could cease the service they provide as soon as the payment fails. Services such as insurance could be instantly cancelled.

It would be best to contact the companies as soon as you have your new details, if you don't have them yet you can inform them the payment may be late

Why did Wells Fargo Cancel my debit card?

I was trying to buy something from amazon when I got an email saying my debit card had been denied. I was a little confused since I was positive I had money in my account. I looked at my account and saw I had a late payment for a credit card from them. So I made the late payment and waited a day for it to clear. I tried once more to make my purchase and still the same thing happened.

I called wells fargo and was told that my card was canceled and I would have to go to my local branch to hear my "options" What does that mean? Do I have to get a whole new card or can they just reactivate my old one? And why did they cancel it in the first place without ANY warning???

Amazon purchase was immediately cancelled...using the same debit card as i use for ebay & other sites that work. Why?

I tried purchasing a Gigabyte GA-Z170XP-SLI motherboard. I entered my debit card as usual, the same one I use for eBay, made the purchase.
Then I get an email from (auto-confirm@amazon.com) with my order number & final price
I also get an email from (order-update@amazon.com) saying: We have canceled your recent Amazon.com order(s) because we were unable to charge your credit card.
We are unable to determine why your credit card was declined. A charge can be declined for a variety of reasons, some of which may not be related to the validity of the credit card. For this reason, we often try processing the charge again at a later time.
So I won't be charged at all for this failed purchase & was this a scam of some sort?

What happens if we cancel an Amazon order paid through a credit card?

Nearly takes 2–4 days, until Amazon receive the product. If the original payment method you used to make the payment (credit/ debit card) is no longer valid, Amazon will refund through a demand draft. This will Proceed as —When Amazon receive a payment failure notice from your bank, They will send you an e-mail asking you to call us. When you call them back, They will collect your name and the address where you want the demand draft to be sent, and proceed with the refund. Thanks

Why does Amazon keep canceling/denying my order when I try to pay through my bank account?

The only thing i can think of is that you do not have enough money in your bank account. That has never happened to me before. Check to see if you have enough money in your account.
