Cannot Quit Being Afraid Of Bugs Hearing Seeing Feeling Everything

Fear of cockroaches and palmetto bugs I cant sleep its killing me?

You're better than me, I saw two of them in my house last year and went to my friend's house at 3am and even there I was scared. (I have a very serious roach phobia.) You can find a cheap exterminator, if you can't, just buy 2-3 bottles of Raid, and tell your mother to spray it EVERYWHERE. Especially corners, front door, and wherever roaches can get in. (Don't do it yourself as you're pregnant and the poison might be dangerous.) Much better if you guys get out of the house for 1-2 hours after spraying and close all the windows during that time.

Roaches get in the house from walls as well. What I did when it happened to me that I bought a silicone gun, get one and fill all the holes a cockroach might get in. Plaster works too. To be extra safe, you can also get Raid's food-traps. Leave the lights of your room open, they tend to not like the light so unless they're starving, they'll likely hide or go to somewhere else in the house, to a dark place.

You need to get some sleep. Ask permission to stay at a girl friend's house for one night so at least you can sleep for one night. I know it won't completely calm you down, but roaches are actually completely harmless. The only thing that calmed me down a bit when I had the same problem was that I animalified them a little. Did you see the movie Ant-Z, I thought of that movie and tried to imagine roaches talk to each other in a cute, funny way and things like that. Not sure if you know who he is, but I once listened to Karl Pilkington talk about how humans loved most animals, even wild animals because they were looking cute, liked Lady Bugs but disgusted by roaches and stuff because they were ugly and how that was nonsense. While I still get disgusted by roaches, Karl does have a point. They're trying to survive and get scared of things just like dogs and Lady Bugs. And they can do no harm to you.

Hope it calms you down a little. BEST of luck getting rid of them!

Deathly afraid of flies?

Well, I've always found that learning as much as you can about something that you fear, helps to remove a lot of the "mystery" and "magic" about it, thus reducing the amount of anxiety you get when you're confronted with it. Personally, the sound of buzzing near my head sends a shiver up my spine and I can just feel the fear exuding from my every pore. But, only bees, wasps & hornets will make that initial fear become almost overwhelming. If I notice it's a fly, it's not so bad... still I'll shoo them away. I had a childhood trauma involving a nest of wasps I fell into though... so that may be the root cause of it.

A lot of people see flies as absolutely disgusting, and some consider it a form of OCD, because of an underlying necessity for cleanliness. Here's a start to help you learning more about flies, and perhaps help guide you down the path to recovery: Flies are the "janitors" of the insect world. Without them, so much waste all over the world, would take YEARS to decompose, and we'd all be wallowing in filth. Flies take up the task of cleaning up all that garbage and squalor as a natural instinct for survival.

This probably won't help much, but in the past, and even today in some extreme situations, maggots (the larva of flies), are used to "clean open wounds"; as instinctively, they only eat dead tissue and foreign substances. It's kind of amazing seeing how they specifically target the bad stuff, and avoid the good stuff. You couldn't engineer a better cleaning agent... though humans are often abhorred by insects in general, and most would not approve of their use because it frankly just gives us the "willies."

But here's some food for thought: a fly's entire survival is based on the consumption of waste. Many people see them as filthy themselves. But why would a fly leave himself covered in filth, and go looking for more garbage? In essence... a fly just might be a cleaner species than humans...

Is my dog seeing a bad spirit?

I think dogs & most animals see ghosts and spirits all the time. If the spirit is bad thent the dog will be scared but if not then no because their probably used to them. Animals are much more sensitive to paranormal things than humans are. I know when i first moved in this house i was really scared & my cat would freak out all the time...he would look around the room and follow something with his eyes that wasn't visable to me, but i would be terrified. When i feel that scared i know somethings there & my cat wasn't helping any he looked as horrified as me lol but then i got used to it and stopped being scared as much. So he doesn't do it anymoe, from exsperience i know if you are scared & freaked out then it only makes matters worse. I learned to accept it and ignore it, and havn't had so many scary things happen since.

That would be scary to see one...sounds like it's you not the house. Some people are magnets to spirits like my mom & me...just be careful with it!

Yah that's probably not a good ghost if your dog barks or crys

Well it could be something negative that's scaring her. If you ever feel like it's negative then it probably is. I don't know...i bet if you get another animal it would make her feel better lol

I have a fear of bugs. /:?

I have a fear of bugs and I am 24 (I really really can't stand them touching me either, even if they wont do anything, I jumped in pool fully clothed to avoid a bee...)...who cares about your age, the point is that you have a fear, just like others have fears that are seen as "ridiculous" but it isn't. If you had no fear, then you would have problems... Nonetheless I lived alone for a bit, and the first spider I killed took me 30 minutes...At which point I called my boyfriend crying that I can't do it...But then my pride came into the picture, and I was tired but not about to go to sleep knowing a spider is in the same room as me... So I pulled up my sleeves and I attacked it... My point in this story is that, I started overcomming this fear by forcing myself to deal with it, because there was no-one there to do it but me. I'm not telling you to go live on your own, but try to kill the bug yourself next time.

Also, now I have my own garden, and I obviously have to put my hands in the dirt......with bugs.....I still wear gloves, but I can see the fear leaving me little by little....I am working my way to no more gloves!

How do I get over my fear of bugs?

I teach a guided meditation practice that specializes in neutralizing compulsive tendencies in order to replace those actions with more conscious choices. The basic practice consists of learning how to calm your nervous system at will with a single breath, then progressively challenging your ability to maintain or improve your calm while engaging circumstances of fear, both within your minds eye and within your physical experience.Depending on your determination to overcome this tendency to become afraid of bugs, you could rid yourself of this fear within a couple weeks.Michael A.
