Canon Eos-1d Mark Ii N For 250 Eur - Could It Be Worth It

Is the Canon 5D Mark 2 or 3 still worth buying in 2018, or would there bet better alternatives (the camera would be used for a mixture of mostly stills and some videos)?

Is the Canon 5D Mk 2 or 3 Still worth buying in 2018, or would there bet better alternatives (the camera would be used for a mixture of mostly stills and some Videos)? That depends.Canon’s 5D series has always been a prestige line, very well-made cameras intended for professional photogs who do not need 10 fps frame rates. But the 5D Mk 2 came out over nine years ago, and the Mk 3 came out about six years ago. As fast as tech moves these days, those two cameras are ancient, with stone age jpeg engines and processing algorithms. Here is the proof. Full-frame sensors are four times the size of micro 4/3 sensors, a clear advantage in image quality with any modern full-frame camera. But according to DXO Mark, the sensor testing website, the Mark 2’s full-frame image quality is not quite as good as the best of today’s micro 4/3 cameras. And the Mark 3’s image quality loses decisively to Nikon’s D3400, an APS-C camera that sells for $400, with lens. Camera Sensor Ratings by DxOMark | DxOMarkSo my answer is, if you have Canon lenses and can get these cameras at a great discount, hey, why not? But as I have said before, wine and cheese get better with age; digital cameras only age with age.

Is buying a Canon 5D Mark III in 2017 worth it?

I currently shoot with a 5D MK III which I bought about 2 years ago. I updated from a 500D and it was a big jump. Although there have been new cameras since the Mark III, I personally don’t see any reason to update because it suits my needs just fine. So my point is that the Mark III is a very capable camera and you won’t be disappointed. You might even be able to get it for cheaper now that they’ve released the Mark IV a while back. Of course this all depends on your specific needs. I have no information on what type of photography you do, or about your knowledge in photography etc. So no one but you can tell if it will be worth the investment for you.On right hands, the Mark III (or any camera for that matter) works wonders.

Is the Canon 5D Mark II still worth buying in 2018 for $500 used? I want a full frame camera for photography. Currently have an SL2.

A2ACanon 5D Mk2 retains its value pretty wells, so depend on the conditions… as of 2018, it is actually pretty good deal. However, given age of this camera that has been in the market, you really want to make close inspections of camera to determine if it is actually worth value. If it is top notch conditions with very little shutter count, and you do not see any issues while testing and inspecting it… then it is absolute bargain. But, I also have seen some of pretty well beaten down camera path thru multiple owners. So, it is really depend on conditions. And as usual for used camera purchase especially between independent party, some diligence for protecting yourself from scam or receiving stolen goods will be needed. But if all conditions are right, you can certainly spend $500.But like anyone considering going to full frame, I would ask OP to think carefully before making move.Is 5D Mk2 going to fulfill what you want from full frame digital camera despite having older sensor design than SL2? And, does OP has sufficicent amount of full frame lens already invested to get started right away? That is something OP has to think carefully before going there.

Should I buy Canon 5D Mark III in 2018?

This question came to me as an A2A and I do thank you for asking but as I have no idea of what your situation is and whether you actually need such a high grade Camera. I certainly do not as I do not shoot those High Burst rate shots and I don’t shoot video and I do not use a flash either so my knowledge of high end Camera’s is probably Nothing or less. I seem to be able to bring home what I set out to do with only a Canon 70-D which is a cropped sensor unit which just does whatever I ask of it.Personal Opinion only and I would be seriously considering watching what happens with the next generation of Mirrorless Camera’s as there could be some interesting things happening in the next twelve months or so from all the manufacturers. Some of the Guru’s have gone with Sony or Fuji and seem to be happy with them. Kevin Raber or “The Luminous Landscape” did an extensive review or several on the new Canon mirrorless and he seems to be of the opinion that the best is yet to come from Canon. He says that there is a high likelihood of an update to that Camera coming out within a year. You can watch his review on line on his web site. Of course if you have lots of Canon gear then you are stuck with the brand unless you can find some adapters and as I do not have that need then I do not know what is available.I recently, or well nearly a year ago, bought an Olympus OM-D and I just love it and I would recommend thinking about a Mirrorless Camera however they do take some time to learn to use as the settings are more critical and less forgiving than a DSLR and expensive Glass is essential. However IF you have a need to spend the Cash before the end of the year then go with the Canon 5-D Mark ?? But IF I had a camera that was working fine then I would just put my wallet back in my pocket for a while and see what next year brings forth but that is just Me and My opinion only.

Where can I buy the lowest price for Canon EOS 5d Mark III with Canon EF 20-70mm Lens?

LensI use a first-version EF24-70mm f/2.8L. Initially and after a repair and calibration by Canon USA service, the lens yields very sharp and contrasty image quality at most focal lengths. It's been very robust in dirty, muddy, rainy environments over the years - Muddy day at the 2006 Sea Otter Classic, Pro Men's STXC - EOS 1D mk II, EF24-70mm f/2.8L, slight cropLooking at the T-stop ratio of t/3.4 to t/3, the EF24-70mm f/2.8L II will transmit (3.4)^2 / (3)^2 = 1.28 times more light than the older lens. I can live with this difference. The II-version lens runs you $1799 new. A used first version goes for around $999 (both prices from B&H Photo Video at this writing). Even adding in $100 for CLA (clean, lube, adjust) of a used lens, you need to ask yourself if a possible slight increase in image quality is worth the extra $699. Camera BodyThe EOS 5D mk IV is rumored to be appearing in Spring-Summer 2016. The EOS 5D mk III has a very capable AF sensor suite, great high ISO performance, and good image results with a quality lens. If you can wait until the mk IV appears, you'll find a variety of deals on new and used mk III models. Even if you can't wait, you can find good deals on a mk III. Where To BuyI would buy from a reputable online dealer like Adorama Camera or B&H Photo Video . Buying from a bricks and mortar camera dealer may cost a little more, but they'll guide you at the time of sale and answer your questions ongoing. You get neither of these things from an online store. Go For Low ActuationsWith a used camera, the seller should supply a shutter actuation count. I would avoid buying any camera with more than a couple thousand actuations. A reputable online or offline dealer will take back anything within thirty days, especially important when you buy used equipment. Lowest price isn't the best criterion for any camera equipment purchase. Initial help and support may be more important to a beginner. A reputable dealer will advise you about what gear would be best for you, take back non-working product, and give you ongoing support.

Should I sell my Canon 5D Mark IV and buy a 1DX Mark II?

What types of things do you shoot? What conditions do you shoot in?I have the 5D Mk4 (and hope to get a second one this year).A friend of mine has two 1Dx2 bodies. A mutual friend of ours is hoping to upgrade this year and is torn between getting the 5D Mk4 or 1Dx2. So the two of us are trying to explain the benefits of each camera. If you don’t needHere’s a copy/paste from Photography and Imaging Resources - APOTELYT:Canon 1D X Mark II vs Canon 5D Mark IV Comparison ReviewArguments in favor of the Canon EOS-1D X Mark II:Better video: Provides higher movie framerates (4K/60p vs 4K/30p).Faster burst: Shoots at higher frequency (16 vs 7 flaps/sec) to capture the decisive moment.Longer lasting: Can take more shots (1210 versus 900) on a single battery charge.More heavily discounted: Has been on the market for longer (launched in February 2016).Reasons to prefer the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV:More detail: Has more megapixels (30.1 vs 20MP), which boosts linear resolution by 23%.More compact: Is smaller (151x116mm vs 158x168mm) and will fit more readily into a bag.Less heavy: Has a lower weight (by 640g or 42 percent) and is thus easier to take along.More affordable: Was introduced into a lower priced category (42 percent cheaper at launch).More modern: Was introduced somewhat (6 months) more recently.Personally, I’m happy with the 5D Mk4, and I actually use the touchscreen and WiFi, so as much as I’d like to own a 1Dx2, I’d rather put that money toward two 5D Mk4 bodies.

Will you be buying the Canon 5D Mark IV? Other than cost, why or why not?

Without testing one by myself, I can only refer to the specs and I must say, I’m pretty disappointed. In my opinion, Canon lacks of good ideas and worse, let the customers pay for this. In Germany, selling price will be above 4k EUR! And Canon has even raised prices for other cams (The 5DS for example went up for 600EUR overnight!). I mean, they are losing ground to mirrorless - that’s a fact and instead of really work hard on innovations like sensor stabilization or whatever, they did nothing but a facelift for the MkIII and demand a ridiculous price for that. Sorry guys, I won’t pay for your long time rest on your laurels! Tony Northrup sums it up pretty much: “As the Mk I and the Mk II were real revolutions, the Mk IV is not more than a small evolution” So no, I won’t buy one and wait for the next revolution – maybe from Olympus as they present their MkII of the OM-D 1 in September 2016.Take a look at Tony’s Preview:
