Cant Access Yahoo Messenger

Can't access yahoo mail through messenger?

I've always been able to access my yahoo mail from the little envelope at the top of messenger or the envelope at the bottom of my screen showing I have mail. Now I can't do either, they do nothing but take me to a page that says "unable to connect" and it's been going on for about 3 days.

If I go to google and search yahoo mail and click on it, it takes me into my mail.

Any idea why I can't access through messenger anymore. First time it's ever happened and it's not like I can't get into my my mail at all, just not through Yahoo Messenger.

Why cant I access Yahoo Messenger?

If you don't install the 9.0 messenger correctly, it will not work (NOT ASSUMING YOU ARE TRYING TO INSTALL THAT VERSION, but most people with the same problem as you, are trying to Install the 9.0 version.

It has to be,,,Run as the Administrator.

I think if you Right click on the downloaded .exe after you download it, you will be able to Run as Administrator. If that is all too confusing you can,,,

Do this,,,,

Click on Start Button/ Settings/ Control Panel/ Add or Remove Programs.

DUMP anything that says Yahoo Messenger (toolbar, address book etc etc etc) they will be listed at the bottom of that window if there are any), and go to this website,,,,,

http://www.oldversion.com

Scroll down (at the bottom of the page on the Left is Yahoo Messenger). Versions 3-8 are there to choose from. I PERSONALLY SUGGEST 7.0.

BE SAFE

Cheri

PS. No, you will NOT lose any Contacts from a previous version you ran, they are all saved on Yahoos Sever and will transfer to whatever version you install.

I can't access my yahoo messenger contacts on IM?

It sounds like your Yahoo Messenger has been corrupted.

The best thing to do is to use an uninstaller as this will get rid of all unwanted registry items and other bits and pieces which are no longer need. Here is a link to one from CNet:http://download.cnet.com/Revo-Uninstalle...

There is a write up on the download page which outlines exactly what it does.

Once downloaded use the "Advanced" option.

Using Revo in advanced mode will delete all the Messenger entries on the Cdrive and Registry - it will use the Yahoo Messenger uninstall software initially so ignore the "Restart your computer" command and the end of the initial uninstall and let Revo do a further scan. Delete everything it finds.

Then use a cleaner such as CCleaner to remove the deleted items from your computer which will free up disk space. Here is the link to one:http://www.filehippo.com/download_cclean...

Both downloads are free.

Then proceed to download it again. Here is the link: http://messenger.yahoo.com

Why Can't I Access Yahoo Messenger or SMS in Yahoo Mail?

Hi Jeff,

Sorry to hear that you've been unable to access the Messenger Chat feature in Yahoo! Mail. It looks like the previous troubleshooting you received actually referred to the desktop version of Yahoo! Messenger, rather than Messenger Chat, which loads within your web browser. I apologize for any confusion on this.

If you haven't already, please try the browser troubleshooting steps listed in the following Help article:

"Troubleshooting several common browser problems in Yahoo! products" (link below)

Although there are quite a few steps listed, going through the list should help to eliminate possible causes of the issue. There's no way to tell in advance exactly which of the steps listed may resolve this issue, so try testing after completing each item on the list.

If the issue persists, as a possible workaround, you might also try updating your browser to the latest version, or using another web browser.

I hope this helps! Please let us know either way!

Can't access e-mail through Yahoo Messenger?

Receive pop up that I have e-mail through Yahoo Messenger, along with the sender and subject line. But, when I click on it, it takes me to my Yahoo inbox, but the particular e-mail that is mentioned in the pop up is never there. Although I do receive other e-mail with no problem. This happens only with e-mail that I receive through Messenger, as if these particular e-mails are going to a seperate Yahoo inbox that I don't have access to, yet it has my correct Yahoo ID.
In my e-mail options, I do not have the "receive notice of e-mail in task bar" option chosen, so I don't know why I receive notices at all.

Why can't I access Yahoo Chat through Messenger?

Yahoo! is so screwed up...they say they are working on it but havent seen improvement yet. Many people are leaving yahoo! and switching to www.paltalk.com - no lag, no bots, no error messages, and easy to get into rooms.

I can't access Yahoo Messenger. It will not accept my password or screen name. What is wrong?

Why doesn't my password work?

There are several reasons why you might be getting an "Invalid Password" error message:

· Set your CAPS LOCK key correctly. Passwords are case sensitive (meaning that "PASSWORD," "PaSsWoRd," and "password" are not equivalent), so be sure to keep this in mind when entering your password.
· Wait up to 24 hours. If you recently requested a new password or changed your password, this will allow your account to update.

· Sign in with the correct Yahoo! ID. Make sure that you are using the correct Yahoo! ID when signing in to your account. If you have forgotten your Yahoo! ID, you can search for your ID online.

· Clear your browser's cache. At times it's necessary to clear your browser's

·
· The cache is the memory your browser uses to store content of the web pages that you visit. Storing that content lets your browser load those same pages more quickly the next time you visit them.

If you're still having problems, please request a new password.

After you receive your new password, you can change it.
