Cant Figure Out What Laptop

No sound from my laptop? I can't figure it out! 10 POINTS?

Try going into the device manager and rolling back the driver. My boss has a monitor with built in speakers that does this from time to time and that's how I resolve it.

Right-click My Computer
Select properties
Click the Hardware tab
Click Device Manager button
Find your device in the list and right click
Click on Driver tab
Click on Roll Back Driver

Hope that helps.

I can't figure out my laptops password?

You forgot to tell us What is the password for.
Is it a bios password or windows password?

For Windows Password, As far as I know , there are two main methods to solve the windows password problem as follows:

1st Method:
Start system and when you see Windows Welcome screen / Login screen, press ctrl+alt+del keys twice and it'll show Classic Login box. Now type \Administrator\ (without quotes) in Username and leave Password field blank. Now press Enter and you should be able to log in Windows.
Now you can reset your account password from \Control Panel - User Accounts\.
Same thing can be done using Safe Mode. In Safe Mode Windows will show this in-built Administrator account in Login screen.

2th Method:
Windows password Recovery software:
for example:Windows Password Recovery Tool 3.0 . It is easy and convenient to use.

My HP laptop made a loud buzzing noise, and I can't figure out why. How do I get help?

I reckon the buzzing sound can be from either your hard disk or fan. If its hard disk then open the back case and check if anything is loose or the cushioning for hard disk is proper, keeping the cover open turn the laptop back on and check if there is any reduction in the buzzing ( be prepared to do with proper supports and tools and with utmost care). If it's from the fan check for something blocking its proper rotation and clean the dust inside (if it is found dusty). Also you mentioned it was particularly hot when you turned-off, check the location where the heat level is high and then consult a technician, but do try these aforementioned things first.Hope it helps.

I can't figure out how to make my laptop's built in webcam work, help?!?

I have a Certified Data laptop from London Drugs, and it has touch sensor buttons along the top. I press the webcam button and it doesnt do anything. I go into the device menu and click trouble shoot on the webcam and it says I don't have any problems. I try double clicking on that webcam in the device menu and I don't really know what else to do because there are no other options. I've had this laptop since december and i haven't "accidentally" opened it or anything.

My laptop came with windows vista installed but when i got the laptop i got windows 7 and immediately installed it without doing anything else on my laptop.. should I have installed the webcam somehow before installing windows 7?

What did I do wrong and how do I fix this issue?

Thanks so much.. and I will DEFINITELY give best answer asap

Can't figure out how to play audio through line-in on laptop?

I have a dell inspiron 1525 which uses Sigmatel High Definition audio codec. Basically, I have an aux cord going into the headphone jack in my iPhone and I have the other end plugged into the microphone/Line-in jack on my laptop, I even went so far as to record myself saying a specific phrase needed to set up the microphone and played the audio from my phone through the aux cord into the mic input jack and it picked up the audio fine and set up and everything, but I can't figure out how to get it to take in the audio from the phone and stream it through my speakers on the laptop.

What's frustrating is, I can literally play music on my phone while plugged into the laptop while using my voice recorder on the laptop, and it will not only acknowledge the audio being streamed, it will record it perfectly and I can even play it back, but not stream it for some reason.

I tried going into audio settings and the mic is not muted. I also tried setting it up as a line in but when trying to access audio settings, I found that there is no option for me to unmute or adjust the volume settings for a line-in.

I also went in and altered my registry to regedit to try and manually insert a new binary value labeled "EnableInputMonitor" because apparently my laptop doesn't naturally have the ability to output audio directly from line-in, even though I can specify that it is a line-in when plugging in

I'm getting so frustrated with this. Please help because this is driving me insane.

How do you find out what model Asus laptop you have?

If you are using Windows OS, just select Run program(or press ⊞ Win + R) -> type “dxdiag” -> hit Enter. I think you will find it there. And if you are using Linux OS, here is what you should do:Try sudo dmidecode -t baseboard for full information on the DMI table contents relevant to your baseboard, in a human readable form. For just the System Product, you can use either:sudo dmidecode -s system-product
sudo dmidecode -s baseboard-product-name

Other relevant options for motherboard info aresudo dmidecode -s system-version
sudo dmidecode -s baseboard-version
sudo dmidecode -s system-manufacturer
sudo dmidecode -s baseboard-manufacturer

Try sudo dmidecode -s for a full list of system DMI strings availableSource: Check_It_Here.
