Car Doesnt Start What Could It Be

Washed car engine now doesn't start. what to do?

Hey I washed my car engine bay, mostly the bonnet lid underneath. I put plastic bags around teh distributor and battery but not where the spark plugs are. I think they may have gotten wet . not sure. but now my car won't start. the electrics seem to work fine, the radio and the starter motor kicks over fine but the engine doesnt seem to quite kick over. it seems to almost start but not quite. Any ideas what it is and how to fix it?

Why doesn’t my car start immediately?

The battery could have got less charge in it. Check with the multimeter or voltmeter, wether the voltage of the battery is same as rated output voltage of the manufacturer is same with the car switched off and terminals removed. It is usually 12 volt. If the voltage is less than its rated voltage then you need to charge it. Take your car or the battery to a mechanic. Or go for a long drive and then check wether the battery is showing an increase in its voltage reading. So driving the car will charge the battery. Do not keep the car switched on with the engine off, that will use most of the energy without charging it up. And if you don't see a increase in voltage reading after a long drive then tell the car mechanic that the battery is not charging. The mechanic will resolve the problem and the car will always start as fast as it was able to, when it was new.

If my car doesn't start right away what does it mean?

It probably needs a good tune up. I'd change the fuel, air, & PCV filter, and run some good fuel system cleaner through it to start with, maybe even have the injectors cleaned. Is the battery or charging system getting weak (an auto parts store tech should be able to measure the battery's voltage with the engine off and again with the engine on, a healthy battery 12 or 12.5 & a healthy charging system 13 or 13.5)? Does it turn over slowly? Or does it crank & crank but take a long time to 'catch'?

My car won't start! It doesn't do anything! Any one know what is wrong with it?

this morning I started my car and it started fine however the clock had reset itself. This afternoon I went to start my car and absolutely nothing happened. I just got a new battery, so it shouldn't be drained already. Anybody have any ideas?

What should I do if my car won't start, but the lights work?

Honestly, if your car won’t start it could be any of the following 2 problems.(1) Faulty battery. Your battery might not be able to hold it’s charge any more as a result won’t be able to assist starting up the car. One way to check if it’s the battery is by boosting you car with the help of another car. If you boost it and the car still doesn’t turn on, then it’s likely the starter. Also if you’re from a cold region like Canada, oftentimes in cold weather (below 0 degrees celsius), batteries often aren’t able to hold as much of a charge due to cold weather. A boost will solve this problem, but a battery replacement may be required in the worst scenario.(2) Faulty starter. The starter helps with igniting the vehicle, so if you’ve ruled out that the battery is fine and the car still doesn’t start and it makes a clicking sound with the lights on, then it’s likely a faulty starter and you’ll need a starter replacement.

Car won't start... Jump starting????

My car worked yesterday then today when I turned on the car I got the radio to start up like usual when I start the car, then it just quit and dies. I think it could be the battery cause I noticed a light was left on somehow. If I was to jump start it, and it worked, is that all I need to do, or do I need to drive it around for 2 hours...or do I have to take it in to be recharged? I would like to be able to go to work today in my own car instead of catching rides to and from, so if jump starting works I'd like to know if I could just use it then.
