Car wheels wont turn, steering wheel does.?

So, the other night, I was pulling out of a parking lot, and I heard a loud "pop" sound. Right after that, I noticed that the wheels on the car weren't turning. The steering wheel itself is easier to turn, but it's like it isn't controlling the wheels anymore. Checked all of the fluids, and everything as far as that goes is fine. Does anybody have any idea's what it could be?

I have a 1996 Chrysler LHS.

My steering wheel wont stop turning.....?

I own a 2007 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE and this morning when I tried to straighten the front wheels while parking, I heard ticking sound in the front wheels and my steering wheel could turn without stopping.
My front wheels aren't straight right now, they're facing the right direction.

Either way, what seems to be the problem?
I've driven it for nearly an hour doing errands and I had no problems til I got home.
I'd appreciate any advice.

What is wrong with my car? Steering wheel won't turn?

Last night, the steering wheel in my Ford Taurus started becoming very difficult to turn. Especially if I was parked. This morning, I tried to leave for work, but the steering wheel is so hard to turn that I cannot back out. It's weird, because I'm able to drive it, but not get it out of the parking space.
Is this something that I could call roadside assistance about? I know this means that my power steering is probably out, since the power steering fluid is not low in my car.
So would roadside assistance do anything, or what should I do?

Steering wheel locked and key won't turn?

I've borrowed a old model Ford Windstar. After I parked and turn off the car I turned the steering wheel a bit so that I could put the Club on the steering wheel. After doing this, the steering wheel is locked, won't turn in either direction, and I am unable to turn the key in the ignition to start the van. Any solutions?

Steering wheel won't turn all the way left and is hard to turn?

Steering wheel is hard to move and sometimes won't turn all the way?
Ok so I have a 2001 Acura Rl 3.5l. For the past couple months it's had a power steering leak and I got it checked and the leak was from the steering assembly so I went to a shop and got the ( I don't know what the actual name of it is ) steering rack / the long pipe that has the 2 boots at the end of it and connect to the strut/tire, I got that rack replaced and the leak is gone. I inspected the car after the shop replaced it and here's what I noticed, 1. The power steering resouvire was filled to the top ( there's two lines on it that say lower and upper) and the fluid should be between it. 2. The steering wheel is rough/hard to move left or right. 3. I couldn't turn the wheel past 1 or 2 full circles and the wheel just stops turning. But that was only when I was trying to park at home, on the street I could turn all the way even though it was a bit hard sometimes. 4. After a short time of driving, the VSA and the Yellow Triangle appear on my dashboard. I'm not a mechanic and don't know what is wrong here, there is fluid in the resouvire so the wheel should be turning fine so can someone help?
The steering wheel can turn all the way right fine but only goes 1 rotation left.

My car wheels wont turn/it's hard to turn the steering wheel.?

I replaced the power steering pump in it about a week ago, but today as a made a sharp turn (in snow) my car made a loud sound, then it went back to me not being able to turn it again. Also when we replaced the fluids it was red, and the power steering fluid that we bought was blue, did at one point someone poor something other than power steering fluid in it (3 owner car), or is there a brand with red fluid? Any suggestions please, other than take it to a shop, unlike others i'm not lazy ill do the work myself!

The steering wheel is not locked, but the key won't turn. What could be the issue?

Only one of two issues assuming the correct key is being used. Either the lock is defective i.e. wafer (tumbler) out of place, or transmission shift interlock cable not fully in Park. On occasion I have run into both situations.Correction for the lock is to have a locksmith come out and inspect the lock. There have been times that the ignition lock has to be drilled out and replaced. As for the interlock cable, physically make sure the transmission shit lever is truly in Park. Adjusting the lever might surprise you because now the lock will turn with the key.

How do I unlock the steering wheel if the car won’t start?

Assuming you Mean that the steering is locked, and you can not turn the key to start the car.First look to see which direction the wheel are pointing. if they are pointing a lot to one side or the other. . ..put the key in, and pull gently on the wheel in the same direction the wheels are pointing, and try to turn the key as you do so.if this does not work, do it again, but pull the other way.‘Some people garb the steering wheel to help them get out of a car, and in so doing always manage to load the tyres (like a stretched ealctic band, tyres are rubber, just like an elastic band is) and pull the wheel down on the door side, so the wheels may point right, left or ahead, but if the car is left hand drive they pulled it to the left, so you, pull it to the left.I find it bemusing that this very basic skill, the knowledge of how to deisengage a sticking steering lock, is not covered in basic driver instruction. It would take about 1 minute.

The key won't turn on a 2007 VW Jetta. The steering wheel is loose. It is stuck in a park. The vehicle has done this a number of times until finally now, the key won't turn at all. What parts do I need? Are there any guides?

Do the obvious. Get the other key and try it. If it isn’t a bad key than its a worn lock and that will prove expensive.Take the key off the key ring and try it every which way possible, upside down, try shaking the wheel against the steering lock and turning, try holding it with a bit of upward tension. Try a tiny bit of lubricant. Look at the key to see if there is obvious wear or defect.Do not try to fix this your self. You might be good enough to replace a water pump but this requires skill and experience an probably drilling. In fact you want to ask the shop if the technician has done a late model VW ignition.
