Car Stereo And Sound System

Why must some people have their car stereo systems so loud?

It's for safety. So kids and cell phone users hear us.It's hard to hear over glass pack mufflers. People play their music loud, have loud cars, loud motorcycles and loud guns because: freedom.Yes, freedom. The one thing that guarantees you can move to the top of a mountain or the middle of a city depending on your tolerance for noise.Policing the world over noise is a waste of time and effort when you can move and enjoy your freedom from wanting to and lice your life noise free. Listen to birds and bees doing the nasty nasty. Listen to bears eating bearries. Listen to fish jumping in the river.Listen to baby deer frockling in the woods searching for their moms or stalking vehicles with their soulless black eyes getting ready to jump out suicide vest and all screaming “God is great!” in Deer speak before getting cut in half.People make noise. We live our lives. If moving is too much effort or watching suicidal deer isn't your thing, you might consider the freedom that noise cancelling headphones would bring you from people who listen to music. We won't be getting quieter speakers anytime soon. We no doubt will have louder speakers as we inevitably go to the best technology known to human society, ever, Elon Musks's EV.You might as well adapt now, it's only getting worse. How will children hear self driving Uber car pods if not subwoofers? If you don't hate children, buy subwoofers. You can change the world and convince everyone not to listen to loud music or change yourself and your habits. Or save lives and buy louder speakers for your car. It's up to you.

Is Bose the best sound system for cars? Why or why not?

Let us put it this way. They are the best or one of the best, at what they do. This is not the same, as to say, they have the best sound quality. They do not, they never did and they will never have.Amar Bose had a different view on what people perceive as good audio or at what people can actually hear. First he decided that people do not or are incapable to listen below 30Hz and above 15Khz, so he got rid of that in his systems. He also claimed that there is a lot of masking in between those frequencies. So he removed them also. So he created a system with a subwoofer that responds from 30 to something, after that there is a gap, and it starts again with the small cubes up to 15Khz. The sound is interesting for the first few minutes, but if you take time to listen, you will arrive to the conclusion there is a lot missing. With speakers he always had the interesting approach to point tweeters forwards and backwards or pointing all the speakers backwards and use an electronic crossover to bring some "life" to the end result. They are interesting approaches to audio. That does not mean they have the best sound quality. Another thing Bose does, is to try to get the most spending the least money possible, in manufacturing. They do it well. But their components are of very poor quality and the result is very limited. What they are really good at is playing with peoples mind. They use psychoacoustics (the study of how the brain perceives sound) in order to understand, what they can get away with and they use advertising (brainwashing) in order to convince people to buy their products. So, to sum this up, almost any good hi fi and high end brand is better than Bose. You want best audio in cars, look for B&o, Linn, B&Ws, Dynaudio, Buttler,  Mark Levinson, Naim, Meridian, Steinway Lyngdorf   they all come pre installed in some cars. http://www.7post.com/forums/atta...In the after market product range, the choice is almost limitless, Pioneer, Clarion, Alpine, Nakamichi, DLS, McIntosh, Denon, RFosgate, Genesis, Mosconi, Milbert, TRU Technology, Scan Speak, etc. etc. etc.http://audiocar.pl/zdjecia/denon...Even Panasonic came up with a very good head unithttp://s25.postimg.org/kxgt7heof...

Is a Bose car stereo system worth the money? Why or why not?

It depends, both in what you prefer and in the car you intend to purchase. If you are a car audio enthusiast and is quite particular with the sound setup in your car, then no. You are better off going aftermarket. However, if good enough is good enough for you, then yes, a Bose option is worth it.With Bose, you get a setup that is much better than the base system. Also, you get stock integration with the rest of your car. However, it is nowhere near similarly-priced aftermaket systems.Bose also tailors each system with the car you intend to buy. If it’s a cheap subcompact, for instance, you get a cheaper, less meticulously tuned Bose setup as well. Get a Cadillac, and you get the 34 (!) speaker Bose Panaray system.Invariably, however, Bose is not known for quality components. It compensates by very good tuning. It will sound great the first time, but eventually, you will hear the paper cones.

Why is my sound system draining my battery?

I had the same problem, my car wouldn't start but it turned out that my ground wire from the battery to the engine block was fried !!! This happens with high power amps ! All of your connections should be clean and tight or the battery wont charge correctly and your system wont perform correctly! If you really want a slammin system make sure you have a good ground from the battery to the engine, a good ground from the engine to the car chassis, and a good ground to your amp( i suggest attaching your amp ground wire under one of your seats to one of the seat hold down bolts) If you dont kill your battery all the way then you dont need a new one just charge it and fix all your connections!!!!!!!!!!!! Also stif caps are junk dont waste your time.

How to wire a six speaker system to a car stereo with only 4 outputs?

Make sure the speakers arent to many watts for the deck and hook up two speakers to the fronts of the deck and four speakers to the rears of the deck,it wont hurt the deck as long as the deck has more watts per channnel then the speakers put together.

How do you hook a portable DVD player into car stereo system?

I did that. If you are talking about making the sound come out through the speakers (sounds real good with a action movie! with my sub!) If you have a AUX input on your stereo, if you dont have one, you can get a FM transmitter. I just got one for my sister, I got it at walmart for 19.99. What it does is, you can send sounds to it, either a ipod, cell phone or even here; a DVD player. and it transmits the sounds into a radio signal, and it makes it a signal your normal radio can pick up. You can pick from like 10 channels what ever one is clear or clearest.
But with FM transmitter, you will need a cable that has a headphone jack on each side, one side plugs into your headphone jack on DVD player, and over end goes into FM transmiter, It's really simply.
I know you can do it! I beleive in you!

What is the best brand for a car audio system?

I've posted this before, but it should provide you with a some help.

The components of a "banging" car sound system would be as follows: The source (cd player, in-dash dvd/nav system, radio, tape player, etc.), the speakers, the subs, the amps, the parts/wiring. Also, depending on how big of a system, possibly a new battery or two and an alternator. Here are some of my recommendations as far as good brands.

Deck: Eclipse, Pioneer (regular or premier), Alpine, Kenwood Excelon, Nakamichi (not the greatest looking, but great sound).

Speakers: Polk Audio, Infinity, Eclipse, Pioneer Rev High end: Focal, Boston, MB Quart, Nakamichi

Subs: JL Audio, MTX, Kicker, Eclipse, Audiobahn, Memphis, Hifonics, Diamond Audio, Fosgate (p3 and higher)

Amps: all the sub companies, plus, Precision Power, Crossfire, Cadence, Soundstream

Parts/Wiring: Monster, Tsunami, Streetwires, even Kicker and Fosgate make decent parts/wiring.

Now if I had to choose, here would be my choices:
Deck: Eclipse or Pioneer
Speakers: Polk Audio, Infinity, or Eclipse
Amps/Subs: JL Audio or MTX
Wiring: Tsunami or Monster.

But in the end these are just my recommendations (based on quality and sound), like Sparky said only you can judge what you like. Everyone's ears are a little different so what sounds good to me may not sound good to you. Shop around at all the car audio dealers and take a listen, but make sure you take one of your cds with you so you can judge all of them with the same song (one that you are familiar with).
