What is the greatest band no one has ever heard of?

In the 60s Love, the 13th Floor Elevators, the Zombies, the Electric Prunes, the Sonics and the Left Banke have all released great albums and are relatively well known amongst the connoisseurs. How about another 60s band that were produced by George Martin that no one has heard of? They were a Mod favourite in their early years doing Motown covers and playing the Marquee Club but in early 67 their style changed as the West Coast washed over London. It’s evident on their last single produced by George Martin in ’67 - Shadows & Reflections. It wasn’t a hit and they were dropped later in the year. They recorded several demos in an attempt to secure a new record deal which came to nowt. These were released years later as Rolled Gold but first some of those Motown covers are pretty nifty.l’ll Keep On Holding On produced by G.MartinTheir best album is probaly a collection of unreleased demos that never made it to album stage called Rolled Gold.Strange RoadsIn my Dream - Demo “Guitar” vetsionThese demos were recorded in late 67 & early 68 and have a raw quality but imagine if George Martin had got to produce these demos?Rolled Gold - Full AlbumThey never got the deal but many members would reform as Mighty Baby, who finally got a record deal. But the Action still managed a few more demo gems before that happened.Only DreamingRemembered principally from their earlier Parlophone singles and appearances on the Marquee as one of the greatest 60s mod groups, they could have been so much more, every track on Rolled Gold is quality.

Club music or heavy rock!?

heavy rock!
but hardcore and metal are well better.

Why is it that Rolls Royce cars are expensive?

The Short Answer :Because nearly every task is completed by hand.Where in the modern world, most of the luxury car companies prefer to build their cars by robots, the Rolls Royce prefers to use humans instead.Let’s take an example,The grills on the front portion of the Rolls : No measurement instruments are used to build this grill, it's solely made by hands. It takes one man one day to build a Rolls Royce grill and 5 hours are spent polishing it.The Long Answer :[1] This is Goodwood plant, the birthplace of Rolls. All in all there are only 4 robots in this 7-acres massive plant, but even they can’t completely replace the human touch.Inside the car, the leather is had from Scandinavian bulls only. (Rolls Royce gets leathers from only those bulls that have been already killed for food.)The cars space frame chassis is first built in Germany and then shifted to Goodwood plant (England).Inside the paint expanse, it requires 22 steps, 5 layers of paint and seven days before the body is perfect and in total 45 kilograms of paint is sprayed onto the body shell. This takes almost a week to 10 days because, even the paint works are mostly done by hands & the last layer of paint is done by couple of robots. The process of polishing takes 5 hours.A special tradition is used named “Bookmatching”, where the veneers are given glossy finish to give the mirror look from each side.450 pieces of leather and 17 days are necessary for completing the interior. The star looking roof needs one of the best and skillful workers, who take about 12 hours to build one roof. The cars interior consists of 42 different parts of veneers totally handcrafted. The veneers are sourced from all over the world and many different woods are available. Each car takes weeks at least to create. The fastest car that Rolls can make is the Ghost, which takes a minimum of 30 days and 60 hands to make. The Phantom takes a minimum of 45 days. Some Rolls-Royce's can even take up to a year.Footnotes[1] A Day in Goodwood: We visit the Rolls Royce factory

What kinds of music genres were popular in the 1980s in the US?

Depending on how specific you want to get with genres, there was a pretty wide variety of popular music in that decade. Generally speaking though, from 1980 to 1989 there were a few broad genres that got significant amounts of radio play and record sales. In the mainstream, there was general pop music by artists such as Madonna and Phil Collins. This could range from synth pop to light rock, but was often referred to as Top 40. There were some popular music off-shoots such as hard rock (Van Halen), heavy metal (Metallica), and new wave (Duran Duran) that still got airplay and had big record sales during the decade. Thanks to MTV and the mass popularity of music videos, the music landscape shifted toward musicians that had visual appeal. Then you had genres that were popular, but weren't a traditional part of the Top 40 family. Rap/hip hop (L L Cool J, Slick Rick)  was breaking out of urban areas and making its way into suburban teen ears--if you like Will Smith, you should listen to some DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince some time. Country and western music was hot during the early 80s, thanks in part to the success of the film Urban Cowboy (which was admittedly successful due to the late 70s popularization of country music), and mainstream country singers such as Kenny Rogers and Juice Newton offered Top 40 listeners an easy entry into country music. Regardless of what Green Day would want you to believe, true punk music perished before the 1980s, but groups such as Suicidal Tendencies filled that gap with hard hitting, angry music that had somewhat higher production values. Alternative music was a catch-all genre where most college radio bands fell. Groups such as The Cure, REM, and Camper Van Beethoven were completely different from each other, but they all found a home in this club. There were other types of music, but things like jazz or classical music weren't nearly as popular as the types I've mentioned, and I don't want to bore everyone with subcategories within genres. I'm sure I've forgotten something, so I hope someone else will help fill in the gaps.
