Casual Wear For School

What should I wear to a Casual High School dance?

The dance is Casual to semi-formal. I might be going with a date or going stag. I was thinking nice jeans, a t-shirt or v-neck sweater, and a blazer over that. So give specific advice. Thanks.

What are some good casual school outfits?

A collared blouse on a pleated skater skirt works well. It is a very preppy outfit and looks good with ballet pumps, loafers and even sneakers. Wear with or without tights. Very casual yet feminine.A good pair of skinny denims a basic tank and a printed kimono cardigan. Add locket chains to accessorize.A denim shirt with shorts and tights looks great too. Pair with oxfords, sneakers, loafers, wedges or ballet flats.A basic shift dress worn with cowboy boots or platform ankle booties. With a middle part hairstyle this can give you quite a boho look.A classic printed t shirt paired with a pencil skirt and easy going wedges. A cool school outfit.

What should students wear in school casual or uniform?

There are some pros and cons to each. I think the biggest advantage of having a uniform is saving the students time when getting ready for school in the morning. Without having to waste time deciding what to wear, the students can get in a few more minutes of sleep. I think if you have ever been a student you would agree that school is a lot easier to endure if you're well-rested.

Of course, most students dislike uniforms because they are often not as comfortable or attractive as casual clothing. They also allow for less self expression. Unfortunately, some students' ideas of self expression include distracting and sometimes indecent clothing, so the teachers have less to worry about in that regard if the students wear uniforms.

However, I think the main reason schools make their students wear uniforms is to eliminate the emotional challenges resulting from students being unable or unwilling to dress in a way that is socially acceptable. Personally, I think uniforms do not fulfill this purpose at all. I attended a school where uniforms were required, and students still judged each other's attire by comparing jewelry, hairstyles, nail polish colour, and even the length of their skirts and shirt sleeves. Kids will always find ways to put other kids down; even if all their uniforms were identical down to the last thread, I can assure you some students would still be teased, just not about their clothing.

In conclusion, I think the best approach to the school clothing dilema is a good compromise. Let the students dress casually, but have a strictly enforced set of boundaries. For example, no ripped jeans; shirts with offensive messages printed on them; clothing that does not cover the area from the lower chest to lower thighs; etc.

What to wear to a casual 'glow' school dance? I need help SOOON!?

For my first high school dance. We are supposed to be casual since this isnt our real homecoming. I have no idea what to wear lol there are gonna be tons of blacklights. So I was considering something with white skinny jeans? Links are great, I need something soon since I'm going shopping later.

Is it ok to wear running shoes as casual shoes too?

Yes, you can wear them as normal trainers as well. It is often too expensive to have running shoes and separate trainers and many people wear the same shoes for both.

One thing to remember, running shoes are designed to support your feet (to stop them twisting the wrong way and things like that). This support eventually runs out and it depends on you and your running style how long this takes. Normally they reckon 500 miles (or about a year) is the life of a trainer. If you are wearing them around everywhere else, this is going to eat into the shoes life so you might need to replace them more often.

Apart from that, no reason why not to wear them all the time

What are the disadvantages of wearing casual clothes to school?

I think you have lack of interest in classroom. Uniform gives you a standard which a students make with his classmates. Uniform gives you some activeness in your toughts and in your body. But on the other hand casually dressed once in 15 days for students gives some change and always strictness will not be develop some positive sign for human development. My thought is always try ro develop positive skills , toughts , activities for society and always specks for everyone for your society.

Can an American teenager wear a suit to school?

Can they as in are they allowed to according to the school rules? Yes.Most American high school have to deal with students wear too little clothes or clothing that are too informal. That's what the majority of their dress code is designed for. You can't wear booty short to school, nor can you wear yoga pants without having your shirt coming down to your fingertip length.Wearing a suit is on the other end of the spectrum in clothing formality. I've been to a few high schools, I know people from even more high schools. I don't know of any high school, or any school for that matter, that don't allow their students to wear a suit. Now, that doesn't mean students wear suits to school. In fact, I've never seen anyone wear an actual suit except once and it was the Picture Day at my school.

Why do American High Schools allow casual wear? Whereas other countries in Europe and Asia have strict policies of wearing school uniforms?

American public high schools allow casual wear because the purpose of the school is to provide education regardless of wealth, sex, religious belief, sexual orientation, etc. It’s very hard not to discriminate against a certain group if they require a school uniform. School uniforms are discriminatory in nature.I go to a private high school and we have school uniforms. Girls have to wear skirts, a white blouse, bow tie and jacket during uniform days. Boys have to wear pants, white shirt, a tie and jacket. Girls wear “girl” clothing and boys wear “boy” clothing. Girls are only allowed to wear shorts during PE, but not in class (we also have a PE uniform). Then there’s the cost of the uniform that discriminates against less fortunate people. There’s only 1 store that carries my school’s uniform, so they can charge pretty much anything they want.Jacket - $115 eachSkirt - $50 eachWhite long sleeve blouse - $30 to $45 eachShoes - $65 each pairSweater - $30 to $40 eachBow tie - $7 eachWhite school socks - $6 each pairBlack school socks - $6 each pairPE short - $30 eachPE sweat shirt - $45 eachPE sweat pants - $40 eachPE shirt (short sleeve) - $23 to $27 eachPE shirt (long sleeve) - $26 to $30 eachI’m on the cheer squad and we have 2 different sets of cheer uniforms. I have 3 uniforms of each set. There’s also dry cleaning for the jacket, skirts and cheer uniforms. You also have to get more than 1 of each uniform item because they’ll get dirty. My parents spent a little over $1,900 (including my cheer uniforms) for this school year. It’s actually cheaper than the uniforms I had when I was in boarding and other private schools. My parents spent $2,900 to $3,800 on uniforms back then.
