Cat Peeing/pooping Issues

How can I stop my cats from peeing and pooping everywhere?

Cats peeing and popping all over you home is a sign that something is wrong. Domestic cats are evolved from wild animals that are both predator and prey. They have an instinctual need to hide their waste. They will use urine and feces to communicate with one another, but they are not comfortable living in a latrine. You need to figure out why the problem(s) is(are). Are all of your cats spayed or neutered? Unaltered cats often feel the need to mark their territories. Unaltered males find it more difficult to share space with one another and big pile of poo can send a powerful message.Do you have enough litterboxes? There need to be enough so that the most timid cats in the household aren't excluded from them. Put them in several different locations. Make sure you cannot see them all at once. Try to have at least one on each floor of your home. Make sure there are plenty of hiding spaces and get aways for everyone.Keep the boxes well maintained. Remember that your cats need to feel comfortable putting their feet in there. Cats like to feel clean. A box that gets a lot of traffic may need to be emptied multiple times a day.Are your cats declawed? Sometimes declawed cats will refuse to use the letterbox because they have phantom pain in their toes. The litter irritates their feet and/or they instinctively avoid a dirty box. If you think this could be a problem, try different litters AND EMPTY THE BOXES AS OFTEN AS YOU CAN. I have a blind cat who used to refuse to get into a litter box that contains ANY feces…he absolutely doesn't want that on his feet. He's learned how to manage it now, but as a kitten he would simply poop right next to the box if it already smelled like poop. Are all of your cats healthy? A cat with urinary tract issues will sometimes pee outside the box. These animals need medical attention.Once one cat starts peeing or pooping in a different spot, other cats will often go there too. The is particularly true if they find the litter boxes disgusting. Clean up thoroughly and use enzymes to eliminate the odor. Get a blacklight if you can to help locate sources of odor…. Your cats noses are much better than yours.

My cat is peeing and pooping EVERYWHERE?

My cat is about 2-3 years old. I got her as a kitten and until recently she was fine.

I have taken her to the vet, he said its just behavioural issues and has no problems.
After that, the peeing and pooping kind of went away (it was mostly poop at the time)
We got another cat, but I know for a fact this isn't the problem because we've had this other cat for almost a year before my cat started going to the bathroom outside her littler box.

Well, my cat is a little fat but she's not an outdoor cat, so it's fine for her to be a little chunky. She goes to the bathroom in one place and one place only, the dining room. Where my 2 dogs are not aloud. (But since she's a cat she can jump the fence).

I really can't have a cat pooping and peeing in my house if she has no medical issues and is just doing this because she's mad about no attention.. And that's what I think it is. I'm afraid one day I'll have to put her asleep because of it!

Can you help me on what to do? Thanks

My cat keeps peeing and pooping outside of her litter box, right next to it, and covers it in litter. What do I do?

If your cat is eliminating outside of their litterbox, the absolute first thing you need to do is take them to the vet and have them perform tests. So,Take your cat to the vetIf you have one cat, you need at least two litterboxes. If you have two cats, three litterboxes; three cats, four litterboxes; etc.You need at least one litterbox per floor of your home.Do not place litterboxes near appliances that make noise and/or emit heat. For example, washing machines, dryers, fridges, heaters, etc.Do not place litterboxes in dark and/or cramped areas, and needs to be in well ventilated areas with at least two points of escape. So no closets, no cabinets, no dark garages. Try to avoid covered litterboxes. The size of the litterbox needs to be no less than one and a half (1.5) times the length of the cat. So, for example, if your cat is 12 inches long, the litterbox needs to be no less than 18 inches long.Make sure that the depth of the litter within the box is no more than two inches deep, but no less than 1-1.5 inches deep.Try changing to a different kind/brand of litter. Cats can be very picky about the texture of their litter, and sometimes certain textures may even be painful on their paws (especially if the cat is older or declawed). A good idea could be to purchase sample/travel-sized bags of different kinds of litters and try them out each in different litterboxes--the one your cat tends to use the most could be the litter that s/he prefers.Try to clean the cat's litterbox no less than once a day. Do you want to use a nasty, dirty bathroom? Well, neither does your cat. Try to clean it daily. Use that time to check their waste to make sure there is no foreign objects, blood, or parasites in it.Make sure that they have plenty of safe spots for your cat that children, dogs, etc. cannot bother them (including their litterboxes). A distressed, stressed, or threatened cat is likely to eliminate outside their boxes so as to mark their spotsCheck out these videos:

How to get new kitten to stop peeing/pooping on floor?!?

someone HELP!

I have had kittens throughout my life, but i can't seem to get this issue under control with omy newest one!

i had him for almost 2 weeks now and he constantly poops/pees on the floor!.. I have him and his sister but his sister is good about going to the litter box all the time!. I keep catching "Murray" in the act all over my bedroom carpeting! as soon as i see him doing it, i pick him up and put him in the box but he jumps right out of there!. I do notice a lot of poops and pees in the litter box (far more than just 1 kitty doing it all) so I guess he does use the box too just not all the time...

how do i break him of this and FAST?! my sister is getting pissed off (she didn't want me to have them in the first place but i talked her into it) and she is threatning me that if he doesn't stop SOON, than she will make me give them both away! (her apt, she is the only one on the lease for now)

plz plz plz someone help!.. he is 9 weeks old if that helps.

My cat can't pee or poop help?

My female cat has a problem peeing or pooping in the liter box and she can't go . If she does go it's one drop and she can't control it. She is not acting sick she just can't go and she tries hard. I took her to the vet two months ago when she had blood in her urn, the vet was sure she would die. She didn't and one vet gave me something to make her better . Keep in mind she just had blood in her urn. After that it happened again. I did not have enough money to go the the vet. My male cat is always pouncing on her and they attack but they do it in a playful way though she has a born disease which cause her to have a handicap in her back legs . I am not sure what to do because I can not go to the vet.. Not sure what she has the vet couldn't tell when I last took her and usually people say they die and are in pain but she has had this for a 3 weeks about now and she is doing fine she just can't pee or poop. What's wrong and if there is a home treatment I need one as soon as possible. Thank you.
