Cat Suddenly Easily Scared

Why is my cat suddenly scared of my bed?

My cat sleeps on my bed all the time and was never scared of my room. So why the sudden fear of my bed? He stares at my bed like theres somebody on it but theres nothing and he hissed at my bed. He was sleeping on my bed just this morning but now for the past few hours, he is terrified of my bed.

Why was the cat so scared all of a sudden?

I think Po got startled by something that he associated with that spot on the wall. Maybe something poked him or he had a sudden stomach pain. At the same moment he might have seen some tiny movement at that spot - cats can actually see light glinting off dust motes. Maybe he was already a little anxious and then this all happened. Cats are biologically programmed to watch very closely when anything unexpected happens, and he was just making SURE that nothing else was going to happen.

Why is my cat all of a sudden scared of my bedroom?

my cats always do that !!!

one won't come in for a couple of times. What I did was put some wet food at the door and let her sample some then I put it in the middle of the room, so I put it there and sat on my bed and let her decide to come in and finish the food.
I didn't coax her at all , just let her decide to come in, she loves the wet food. Cats are suckers for wet food!

I did it in the morning then at night .. few days later she got used to it.

if she doesn't want to step in just leave the food ..she'll want to be nosy and get the food.

My cat is suddenly afraid of the dog?

My cat is SUDDENLY afraid of the dog. We've had him long before we got her, and when we first brought her into the house she was a fearless little thing. She wasn't scared of him, the other cats, us, loud noises. Nothing. She was an equal.

We have three other cats. A female longhair Calico, a male orange cat ((Head tilt kitty,)) and a female tortoiseshell cat. All of them are spayed/ neutered.

This one is not. We DO plan to spay her as soon as we can. We're getting them boarded in a couple of weeks for vacation and I bet, along with the vaccines we will probably have her done as well :(

She is small, black and white, and is at least a little less then one year old. Recently she has had a REALLY long heat cycle ((2 weeks??? Is that normal???))

So, what happened was. We brought the dog to the groomers. He is a 95 pound white Samoyed ((Yes he is overweight!)) he was shaved slightly ((Oh my god he was white again,)) and when we got him back ((A couple hours later,)) we let him in the house. The little cat saw him. Panicked and bolted to the other end of the house ((She did the Halloween black cat thing!)) She was shaking, heart pounding. She was ******* terrified of the very same dog!

She was NEVER before, not once, the dog would be pouncing around her. Messing with her and stuff and she would just keep walking. Or they would play a friendly game of chase. I swear it was a game. It's like she doesn't believe it's him. She is like. Mortified. I've never seen her this scared since she got out six or something weeks ago for the whole day ((We found her stuck on somebody's roof, I don't think she was in heat or was just coming out of it, (((Her abdomen has not grown in size, nothing is more prominent and she's been having what appears to be like a not so much heat cycle..)))))

Though, another thing I noticed I thought was weird was. I was petting her and I brushed her lower side and she acted like I had hurt her, I did it again and her response was quite similar.

He smells like lavender at the moment and used to have long fur before earlier today? Any ideas of what could be the problem? Shouldn't she be able to smell him? Does he look to big without his fur? Is she hurt? Is she actually pregnant with a very small litter and fears he will hurt her?

I honestly have no clue? She won't remain like this will she? Is this normal?

Cat, male, 9 yr old inside only, suddenly acts scared and seems to be attacked?

about six months ago, my cat started reacting like he was being bitten or had some kind of skin parasite. He goes wild trying to scratch or bite the area on his back where he is sensative. He will also now bite anyone that touches his back. I have shaved his fur twice, no marks, no parasites, nothing to cause the sensativity. Does anyone have any idea what this problem might be and how do I stop it.

Why would a cat be suddenly scared of one specific person?

I have had my cat for 8 years, I got her when she was a kitten of four months. She has been perfectly fine around everyone she meets until recently. About 2 weeks ago, my boyfriend and I moved into a new apartment. She took this well, to the point of sleeping in the bed with us the first night. She knew him from before when he would come over to my house. For the first week and a half, she adored him, sleeping at his legs every night, etc. Suddenly she has taken to being extremely scared of him whenever he comes in the room. She hisses at him and spills bowel and bladder when he's too close. Apparently this happened a few months ago when we left her with a friend of ours when we went out of town. She's still fine around me, and my female friends. I haven't seen her around another male yet, so I don't know if that's a factor. Please help! This is driving a quick wedge into our new home. Thank you.

Why would a cat suddenly stop eating, and run away like it's scared after you coax it into drinking a few laps of milk?

Is this cat easily scared or startled? If so, a noise or even a gesture could have sent it runnIng.Is this your house cat? Or a feral or stray? So many questions, so little information. If this is your cat it may not like milk. Very simple. Not all cats do. And just as well since most can’t digest cows milk.If this is not your house cat, it may have just gotten scared. If f you are trying to make friends with a stray or feral don’t try milk. Use a canned cat food, the chicken types usually appeal to almost every cat. And take it very slowly.

Why is my cat suddenly afraid of a ceiling fan he has never before been scared of?

My 5-yr. old neutered male cat is extremely friendly and affectionate. I was just out of town over the weekend and returned last night. He has been left alone like this several times before. Since last night (and again this morning), he appears terrified of the ceiling fan in my bedroom. When I bring him in my room, he looks at the fan, buries his face in my arm, and soon slinks out of the room with pretty good speed. It is bizarre to me, because we have lived in this apartment for almost 2 years, and he's never shown any sign of being scared of the fan in the past. Anyone else ever experienced anything like this with their cat? Did it eventually go away? Did you do anything?

Why is my cat suddenly afraid of the other cats and is hiding after living together with them for 9 years?

I can’t give you an answer unfortunately, but can I share a similar story? I have three cats, one of whom is now an outside cat because she HATES my two other cats so much and will not stay inside my apartment with them, though she lived with them about 2 years without growling like crazy whenever she sees them as she now does. My friend says she is upset, because she was here before them when I rescued the other two who showed up as meowing starving kittens in front of my door, and she sees them as usurpers, but they all lived here together two years prior without incident. Not to worry about her, I live in a gated apartment building, and she always stays outside safe from dogs and such. She’s most of the time just outside my door, but I do wish she’d come inside again. I bring her inside on rare ocassion, but she goes absolutely insane, so I let her out again. I hope I haven’t compounded your worries with my story, I just thought it might give a little insight to a problem that we apparently both face dealing with very emotional kitty cats.
