Catch 22 For Losimg Weight

What is more difficult: gaining weight or losing weight?

Obviously the answer is losing weight.If we’re talking about water weight, that’s different. But if we’re talking about fat mass, losing fat will always be more difficult.It’s more difficult to lose weight than to gain weight because you don’t have that much control of how many calories your body burns but you can control how many calories you consume.I know a lot of people are going to say gaining muscle will burn more calories, but realistically, muscles don’t burn as many calories as you think they do. 1 lb of muscle burns about 30 calories. This isn’t a lot if you think about it. You need a lot of muscle mass in order for your body to burn a lot of calories, and most people don’t have that much muscle mass.Let’s say you want to lose some fat, your body burns 2,400 calories, and you cut your calories by 400 calories. That means you should lose 1 lb of fat in 9 days. If you cut your calories too much, you’ll lose muscle mass and you’ll end up looking skinny and jiggle. In other words, skinny fat.If you lose some weight in a short period of time when trying a new diet, you most likely lost water weight. In order to lose 1 lb of fat, you need to burn 3,500 calories from the fat stored in your body. Fat loss takes a longer time than you think it does. When cutting your calories, fat will not be the only thing you will lose.No. Ectomorphs or skinny people do not have “fast metabolism.” I’m really sick of hearing that. If you really do have a fast metabolism, you would not have a problem with gaining weight because when you have a fast metabolism, your appetite is almost like a bottomless pit; therefore, you can’t stop thinking about food. No matter how much you eat, you can’t stay full for that long. People with fast metabolism need to control themselves from eating too much or else they’ll gain too much weight because that’s how big their appetite is.If you eat an entire box of X-Large pizza in one sitting and you’re not even slightly hungry 1 hour later, you don’t have a big appetite; therefore, you don’t have a fast metabolism.I literally have never seen a skinny person who eats at least 5,000 calories everyday and stay skinny irl. Ever.

If you lose weight do your chest get smaller?

Hey, it's almost New Years. What a great time to make a resolution to lose weight! I wish you the best of luck in it.

You really have to look at two areas of your life and adjust them to match your goals:

* Diet
* Exercise

You simply can't get around these two facts. You have to consume fewer calories than you burn each day to loose weight. So if you don't change your diet, then you'll have to exercise more. Frankly, it's easier to adjust both things. Eat less, or eat smarter and exercise moderately. You don't have to go overboard. A 20 minute walk around the block is exercise.

Find someone who can share the goal with you. Another overweight friend who will walk with you. That helps a lot. You can encourage each other.

How does gum help you lose weight?

It doesn’t really help, sorry.The only reason why some people say that gum helps with weight loss is because while you are chewing it, you aren’t chewing food, and therefore are ingesting far fewer calories than if you had, say, a piece of cheesecake in your mouth.Here’s why I don’t recommend gum for weight loss:It increases saliva production, which tells your brain to send the signal to your stomach to start churning up gastric juices in preparation for digestion. Your stomach doesn’t know that you aren’t planning on swallowing anything; it figures, hey, I’ll just wait here and get ready to process that tasty morsel she’s chewing right now! But instead of swallowing, you spit out the piece of gum. And your stomach gets gassy and distressed because you didn’t actually feed it anything. This causes bloating which makes you look fatter.Gum is chock full of delicious chemicals and additives like “natural flavoring” “aspartame” “soy lecithin”. Um, yum, sounds delicious. I have no idea what any of these look like in their individual raw, natural goodness. Oh wait. That’s because these aren’t actually food. Here’s a nutrition label from a typical gum brand:Obviously, noshing on some of these ingredients on occasion isn’t going to kill you. But if you’re chewing gum to prevent yourself from eating, likely you’ll be ingesting more of these chemicals than you probably should be ingesting on a daily basis. Also, you’ll get lots of gas.Chewing on gum isn’t inherently wrong. It’s just not a solid weight loss strategy. I would personally steer clear of things like gum and diet soda while trying to lose weight. If you must have gum, it would be better to try and find a brand with fewer processed ingredients. However, if you do that, you’ll be trading out the low caloric content of a piece of conventional gum for a higher caloric content in the more natural brand, because the more natural kinds of gums are typically sweetened with real sugar (which has calories) as opposed to the low calorie fake chemical sugar versions. It’s a catch-22.If you are looking to lose weight and you want to curb an oral fixation, try drinking tea, or eating small bits of extra dark chocolate. Both taste better than gum anyway.

Does sport actually makes you lose weight?

Depends on how hard and for how long you go at it, and what/how much you eat.There’s a saying:”you can’t outrun a bad diet”.If your eating habits are way off, exercise alone won’t be enough to lose weight.

Does having sex make people gain weight or lose weight?

Well, during sex the average person can burn up to 250 calories a minute during active sexual intercourse, so in that case I guess you could say that it would cause you to lose weight, but on the other hand, burning up those calories would cause you to get hungry and there fore you could gain back what you just lost, sort of like a sexual version of 'Catch 22', but at least you'd have fun either way.

How do I lose stubborn belly fat while maintaining my current weight?

Belly fat is one of the toughest of all to get rid of fat as most of the fat gets accumulated in the tummy area and getting rid of the fat is a tough job. but this said and done if you follow a simple healthy living its not difficult as it seems.you have to first and most importantly eat healthy food and avoid food that had fat content, avoid oily foods, junk foods, too spicy foods, and stop overeating and instead inculcate the habit of 5 meals per day, drink lot of fluid and get plenty of sleep. this are basic things to do.You should do workout for abs like crunches, leg raises, flicker, plank, mountain climb (there are variations also for above) with your regular running if you don’ go to gym, but give the belly area rest to recover from workout (advisable not to do abs workout daily, though you can go for running/ walking daily).If you go to gym there are lot of equipment available to do lot of variations other than mentioned above.But remember only doing cardio will not serve the purpose but instead one should also do weight training which plays a major role in getting the fat off of belly and other areas. Do HIIT and other body weight training also.You will be able to maintain same weight as your fat will be replaced by muscles, maintaining the same weight.Best Wishes, Stay Feet.

Can I lose weight by walking 30 minutes everyday?

Losing weight is almost totally driven by food choices (what and how much). Exercise (such as walking, running, and workouts) is needed for stamina and strength and for making sure that the weight you lose is fat and not muscle, but purely in terms of weight loss, exercise is neither necessary nor sufficient. It’s not necessary, because even if you don’t exercise, you can lose weight; and it’s not sufficient because, even if you do exercise, you cannot eat anything you want and still lose weight.In contrast, good food choices are both necessary and sufficient for weight loss, so I see food choice as the main driver of weight loss.My current diet advice describes in some detail an approach that is simple, easy, effective, satisfying (you won’t feel hungry), involves no calorie counting, and offers an easy transition from weight loss to weight maintenance, always tricky. I lost quite a bit of weight following that method, and I was quite sedentary at the time. (Since then I have taken up Nordic walking and because it’s so enjoyable I now walk a little over an hour a day, six days a week. But weight loss still depends on food choices. Walking is for fitness, not weight loss.)It will probably take a couple of weeks to get the hang of it, but stick with it for two months and see then what you think.

Girlfriend asked if she gained weight...?

My girlfriend asked me if she gained weight, but I changed the subject, because I never lie to her I just don't think it's right. She will ask again though. The truth is she has gained some and she's not as fit as she was when I first met her. I still think she looks amazing, but if I say 'yes you gained some, but I still think you look great' (in nicer more convincing words of course) she will still freak out. This has happened before.

I mean I wouldn't be upset if she started to workout and get toned, but I don't think she needs it. If it helps I work out everyday. What do I do?
