Changing The World Need Help

Does this world need to change?

Hello.I think that we need to become more considerate of each other. At a personal level and at a global level. Some people worry about global warming as though it were a religion but I remember from my childhood a similar scare about the coming iceage. Humm still waiting! But what people don't seem to worry about is the human suffering that happens every day. The misery and murder happening in many places around the world. If you are a young pretty girl forced into a refugee camp in Syria then there's a good chance that a rich Jordanian mongrel will rent you as a “wife” for a few weeks before discarding you like trash.Or you might be from the wrong religion for those armed groups in your area. Your life could be rape, mutilation, death and /or being driven from home and land into an uncertain future.Where is our consideration in that? Even on the roads in my country there is no consideration for the humanity of other drivers. If they make a mistake we are filled with rage.Am I angry? Too right I am! It is an affront to God seriously. If it isn't to yours then it should be!This consideration is under our control and we can chose to be better. All of us! We are humans travelling together through time and space. We have choice.

How would you change the world?

The best way to change the world is by being the change you want to see in the world.I wish for a world where there are no beggers - So I started from myself.. Yes I've stopped giving money to the beggars instead I give them the advice they need or the food they want. But no money.I wish for a country where there is no corruption - So I started from myself.. Yes I don't offer bribe to the traffic police instead I honestly pay for my mistake.I wish for a world which is clean and pollution free - So I started from myself.. Yes I do not throw waste on roads and do not hesitate to pick wafer wrappers from road side to throw in the dustbin.I wish for a world where people love and care for the animals as they love their babies. After all they are also living beings- So I started from myself.. Yes I offer food to street cattle and dogs whenever I get a chance. Moreover I've recently adopted a destitute street puppy. Isn't it good to shelter a homeless :)I wish for a world where people are happier and stress free - So I started from myself.. Yes I smile at people more often even if they're stranger to me So that for a while they can forget all their problems and think “why idiot smiled at me for no reason" :pI wish for a world where people are wise enough and encourage each other for self improvement - So I started with myself.. Yes I no longer waste my time on facebook, instagram or snapchat rather I switched over to Quora and reading good books. I recommend this to all my friends.I wish for a world where kids love, respect and value their parents more than anything else in their lives - So I started with myself.. Yes my momy is my best friend, I share all my gossips with her, Wash dishes with her, hangout with her and Most importantly Say I hug my parents daily in the morning :)Thank you for reading :)

How can one person be the change the world needs?

Few people ever get the opportunity to make an impact on the world, but all of us have the opportunity to make an impact on our own little corner of the world. If each one of us took and fulfilled a vow to help someone in our sphere, the world would be a better place. One act of kindness can cause major ripples, starting with the person you did the kindness for and rippling outward among the friends and family of the person you helped. For example, I live in Southern Africa (I am American) and I have a maid. She is well paid, by the standard of the wages of other maids but, like all menial labour jobs, she doesn’t make a princely sum. She dropped out of high school, she had never even heard of college or university, she couldn’t drive and didn’t know what a computer was. She had an abusive husband and 4 children who were equally ignorant. Today, after working for me for 11 years, she has a driver’s license, a laptop (and proficiency with MS Office), has kicked her abusive husband to the curb, has almost finished high school and is applying to nursing schools to further her education. Best of all, however, her children have started looking at advancing their education—the next generation of her family will have more education than any member of their family heretofore. As they succeed, their peers will see that they do not have to stay stuck in backwater villages without running water and indoor toilets—some of their peers will see her children better their lives through education and do the same for themselves. My encouragement of my maid to take on new challenges—my willingness to adjust her work schedule to allow her to take the time for such thing as driving lessons, will rub off onto her children who will, invariably bring the enlightenment to their peers and some people who once could look forward only to more poverty and subsistence living now realize they are capable of something better.YOU can do the same, right in your own country...your own neighbourhood. It only takes one person to help someone else, and to encourage that person to help others. Help does not have to cost money—encouragement is free and worth more than a pocket full of cash.Try it—and encourage others to do the same.

Can one person help to change the world in a good way?

I am so impressed with all of your answers. You all seem to be truly concerned for your fellow human beings. I like all of your responses. You are truly good people, thank you for your thoughts.

I especially like leaving a bag of groceries at the doorstep of someone I know to be needy, and running. Excellent answers.

My choice as best answer is Mr. Energy Engineer because he found the details of my question, and seems to be doing something about it. I agree the truly needy are the children without water or food. So, to Energy Engineer - thanks.

P.S. I checked out your site, Thanks. Hope this works out - it is a great idea.

Help with this poem PLEASE!! Having a Mind to Change the World?

Twice a year and during Sunday sleep
The Republic finds itself unanimously
Agreed except for Indianapolis
To shift the sun through fifteen degrees of arc
In a trice or two by twiddling some knobs
Whereon the sun obedient moves back and forth
At the mere commandment of Democracy.
Not Joshua in the Vale of Ajalon
Did more than stay the sun a space, while we
By will alone twitch him about the sky,
Taking a daylight hour from the dawn
And giving it to evening, even if
We Indian-givers later take it back.
What shall be denied unto this people
That with a thought thus moves both heaven and earth?

I really need to know what's the organization of the poem, about the language used, the tone, and possibly about the speaker (not necessarily the author). I have this essay due and i'm not a poem person at ALL. I know there are creative people on here that can help me.

Is it possible to change the world?

I'm sick of how everyone acts, taking everything for granted. I want to get people to think about whats really important in the life, i don't care what it takes is just need the world to change or i won't be able to stand it much longer. I assume that most of you will have no real ideas how to change the world or you would have tried them already. Also, im not looking for little everyday things, i want an idea that is plausible and might create some major change in the world. Sorry if the question is jumbled or incoherent, im not a very gifted writer.

Is trying to change the world futile or do we have an ethical obligation to help others?

Is trying to change the world futile or do we have an ethical obligation to help others? Thanks… A2A.Well, other than the economic advantages in producing a life or society altering product for profit… changing the world seems to be a bit like trying to turn an aircraft carrier with wishful thinking. And yet there are social movements based in the ridiculous that find traction. Why IS that? Why do seriously legitimate issues like starvation or political corruption or equality for ALL people take a back seat to veganism, fanatical partisanship, and gender extremism?Sometimes the priorities seem to get lost in the hysteria.
