My recommendation is to buy an unlocked iPhone from http://digitec.ch/, these are the most important things to know:Unlocked / No Contract - Even though there might be people seeing this differently, I would buy an unlocked phone with no contract obligation. Remember that Switzerland is a small country and that at some point most young people will travel abroad. At that point an iPhone that has a contract and a corresponding sim lock from a provider (e.g. Swisscom, Orange etc.) cannot be used with a foreign sim card. If it is an unlocked iPhone, on the other hand, it can be used with any sim card worldwide.
Warranty - This is not really an issue with iPhones you buy in Switzerland anywhere (unless from black market dealers, Craig-list-like marketplaces etc.). Apple will provide warranty services for any iPhone no matter where you bought it from.
Where to buy - Even though this is surprising, http://apple.ch/ does not provide the best service you can get. I personally find http://digitec.ch/ or http://dataquest.ch/ to provide excellent service. In case if Digitec, they have very competitive prices while still being very reliable, they are the number one electronic online shop in Switzerland.Note: I am not affiliated with any of the above mentioned business. Let me keep this answer dead simplePros-Cheap price (you will get the iPhone in USA for about 10,000–15,000 INR cheaper.Cons-You will not be covered under warranty for iPhones’ warranty is restricted to its country of purchase.You will be getting the standard US charger, not the indian unit. There would be no difference in power output but you would have to purchase a converter or an indian power adapter (which retails for about 1500INR).That’s it. Personally, I believe it is a pretty decent deal to get it from the United States. No iPhone dies randomly on its own unless it is damaged physically or due to liquids, and apple warranty does not cover liquid or physical damage.P.S. If you are getting the carrier unlocked version then you will NOT face any issue regarding networks, sims, et cetera.Now, regarding the models. Please do not get the carrier locked ones. You can go for any other model (either GSM or CDMA) .
